For anyone interested in Kenshi, it’s brutal, annoying, and sometimes unfair, you’ll find yourself looking at the time and saying “oh shit, it’s bedtime”, Kenshi is an unforgivable beatdown, and it’s so, so good, its the best worst time you’ll have until you figure it out.
@@Kamfrenchie thats why you set personal goals and limitations, the game in itself is quite easy to get a hang of... and thats not even mentioning the shitton of mods you can add into it...
@@crustybomb115 Personal goals dont give the game more depth, when factions are very bare bone, so is diplomacy, and a lot of systems aswell. Plus you just spend a lot of time just trying to get beat up by bandits with rods, which is rather silly, versimilitude wise
@@Kamfrenchie Sure, and that’s alright, not everyone can vibe with everything. I couldn’t get into Breathe of the Wild, I’m positive it was a good game but I just got bored with it, real fast. It just is what it is.
10:00 Fun fact, I've hit endgame in Kenshi; I have 30-ish dudes in a self-sufficient -compound- -town?- compound, and that *limb peeler?* Yeah I use it to: 1: Turn strong enemies into passive punching bags 2: Take off the limbs of my own dudes to give them mastercrafted cybernetic replacements. And 3: To clean up dying bandits. They go into the incinerator afterward. If I can be bothered to babysit my compound through 20 more hours of waiting, we'll be ready to kick the Bible Men's teeth in. Oh and the United Cities. They have a few badasses in prison I want to recruit and cyberize.
A bit confused on 1 and 2, to out them in means you already had to defeat them? So does turning strong enemy into punching bag good for training? Why can't you directly clean up the bandit? Curious how the game works here.
@@RexZShadow You can't put enemies who are KO'd but still alive into the incinerator. If I de-limb KO'd enemies, and attach robotic limbs only for training, they won't be able to escape their cages.
I never get tired of this particular video of Sseth and all of your reactions. I think his videos on Arcanum and Vampire the Mascersde Bloodlines would be great follow ups.
Kenshi is an amazing gem, I got it and clocked 400 hours without touching another game for more than a month. It's absolutely incredible. The combat is RTS type, just very micro-able and incredibly involved if you want it to be. If anything I'd say the part that makes it what it is, is the magic of being IN a living world, instead of having a world built just for your character to be the hero of. Something like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. does with it's alife system, and still not many games are able to pull off. Anyways, great to see you guys react to Sseth, as always.
Kenshi is pretty unique LIke said its a game where Loosing IS part of the game, and doesn't neccesarly means that it is the end. My first character had his ass kicked by bandits, and while unconcious, a squad of Slavers passed by, and healed me just enough, that i wouldn't die from my wound,s but they shackled me, and took me to an Holy Nation work camp, where i was forced to work away. Seems bad right? well you can see it asn an opportunity, cause mining and breaking/transporting ores and stones all day for an ingame week or two, actually increased my Strength and Thoughness and the few failed escape attempts also helped it( when you take hits, you gain XP in Thoughness) So after becoming jacked as Arnie in Conan the Barbarian on the Wheel of Pain, i've gone around in stealth mode to increase my stealth skill. After some days of preparations i ipened my cage at night, freed some other slaves to make a diversion , snuck behind some guards to knock them out and then run outta there. I then started to work on my Martial arts skill while recruiting former slaves and train them, we became Slavers Hunters and Bounty Hunters, we would hunt down any slavers group, wich in turn put a damper on the Holy nation workforce, wich created an imbalance, and allowed another faction to attack and reduce the Holy nation's territories. I went on taking contracts even fighting Off Mist cannibals, i lost my 2 arms and legs in the process, but got my hands on high end prostetics. I went on to train my Martial arts to the max and became the Greatest Martial Artist in the Lands.
That's the character development we like to see in our post apocalyptic stories, just ultraviolet martial artist cyborgs fighting crusaders in the desert
@@LainVics it isnt limited to martial arts either, especially if you include mods into it... im currently playing a special combat oriented skeleton thats literally using an I-beam as a weapon XD

I’ve had Kenshi for a long time. Great game. I’ve never really made it particularly far into the game. But getting baked and trying to smuggle weed into cities, build functional compounds, and make your characters not trash is great.
Probably the most amazing thing about this is that if you don't have any imagination or goals this can quickly become one of the most boring and difficult games to play. And yet on other side because game is so hard and unfair that just surviving feels like an accomplishment. Your not the hero just another character in game and bad luck or wrong decision can quickly be game over.
sounds like High risk high reward, at least from the developer standpoint. People might be turned away because the game objective isn't super clear but those that stick around and explore will really love all the possibilities.
@@MichaelCHyatt Yeah pretty much noone believed in the developer when he first released it on his website. The game only really found much popularity when steam greenlight released.

Kenshi is like abusive partner who constantly beats you and sometimes this creates long-term trauma.
