Great video! I do both of those and your instructions have been super helpful. My worst near OTB that ended in what felt like the worlds longest nose wheelie that I somehow saved was totally caused by freezing and sitting back. Been working on your j-hop method for safe launches up the lip of the jump with much better results.
Hi, this is exactly what I'm doing wrong. xd Jumping too much forward or freezing up in fear of too much speed. I rode last week and just figured out how to jump better with some tips from your videos. Good to know what I've fixed.
Men, you are best explained because you want from heart to people understand ,so clear work with me 100% im riding bike for 5 years always jump with some luck " see what happoen " but j-hop blow my meand🎉
Dusty, you've been a posting machine. I am really enjoying the content and learning, your explorations really help me visualize the movement in my mind.
Seems to me, not an expert, but most people I see go OTB are what you demonstrated sitting back all the way up the lip. Thanks for these videos Dusty, extremely well done.
Your explanations are better than channels with 100k+ subscribers. Do everything you can to get a better microphone so people can hear you. As good as your videos are, I don't want you to be known as "the guy who gives great advice but I cant ever hear what he's saying"
Thanks man. A mic is first on the list once there are left over funds at the end of the month. As a small RUclipsr relying on the income to pay bills, Things are pretty tight until we get a bit more coming in a month. We will get there. And thanks for watching your support is much appreciated.
Good stuff. I would offer that the "J hop" method is totally fine, but treating both wheels at the same time is fine too, and often better for people just learning to jump.AND FOR SURE either method can and does result in OTB if timing and or body position is off.
@@thedirtdisco6279 thanks for the input. I don’t agree that teaching the 2 wheel lift is a good idea at all. Muscle memory is hard to break as adults, so starting bad habits is not a good idea. But your right bud timing can lead to OTB any day of the week
@@Theshredacademy Fair. I could buy into that to some degree. but I do think many riders who are looking to enjoy " mild " air ( esp older learners ) find the two wheel method easier and DEF safer and never need to go to the J method. If a rider is ready, fine, but J method will def result in lots of sideways ( and iffy) airs. If they have a lot of air awareness brought on by doing smaller jumps with the two wheel method, they can explore other methods and boosts... walk before run kinda thing in my mind. Anyways, thanks for your work!
yeah this is how i separated my collarbone in april. i went for a jump i was NOT ready for and was more scared than i expected. i crumpled in the exact wrong spot and managed to roll out of it pretty unscathed

Yeah man if one doesn’t hit i post another. I have to make a certain amount each month to stay alive.

Bad form causes fear. Fear cases bad form.
@@Durwood71 well said sir

Gotta drop your heals during suspension compression and the steeper the lip the more I bring my chest to the bars.
