I have heard of these kind of cakes but always thought they would be way toooo hard for me to try. Seeing it done makes such a huge difference! Thanks for the help and I cannot wait to try to make it.
I made this yesterday after watching this recipe and it was a hit. Excellent recipe, easy too. I cant believe how just a few simple ingredients becomes transformed to this 5 star restaurant dessert. thank you ashlee!
This is a lot more stable, and richer than those that are made using separated eggs and use the whipped whites for a rising agent. I really like her mixer, too.
you are awesome! I have a passion for baking and cakes especially so i just watch random videos! sooooo glad i found you!. binge watching your videos now
Your recipe turned out an absolutely fantastic cake. I've been making these flourless babies for 30 years and I never had one as good as this. Thank you! May I make one tiny suggestion, and only because you're such a professional... In the (French) word "coulis" the s is silent, as in koo-LEE
wow Ashley I live in UK and would like to make cake flour as we don't have it here. My question is do you use all purpose flour with cornflour (starch) as we have here all purpose and self raising flour. Thanks love you cake video know how's Regards Angie.
+Angie Mizon did you see my video on cake flour? ruclips.net/video/iL30490oOFs/видео.html (1 cup of flour minus 2 Tbsp then add 2 Tbsp is cornstarch, sift 4-6 times )
Yes that's what stirred me to try it, will have to experiment with both flours then let you know how it turns out then we can let other 'Brits" know, also love your 'suade' idea cake, thanks also for the tip get clean sharp top to fondant cakes, and the way you apply the dinosaur motif to your cake 'brillient' idea.
I really twant to make this cake tomorrow but I just don't have a 10 inch cake pans hanging around. Just 2 regular old 9 x 1 1/2 inch pans. I'm sure I could it, the batter seems very easy. It's the baking time I'm unsure with. I really enjoy your videos and I'd love to see you do your magic with regular old cake pans and crummy old 9" springform pans. Thank you!!
it's a 10x3 inch pan too, so tall - I use a 8x2 for a half batch so the 9x1 1/2 should fit a half batch nicely - I'd say the hour should be perfect - but that's just a guess but that's when I'd start checking
If I want to make just one cake in 9 inch pan than how much ingredients will I take??do I still have to take the amount u mentioned??please reply I rilli would like to bake this cake....
personally I wouldn't - this is the flavor/balance I like obviously thus making it this way. because of the dark chocolate its not a very sweet cake and less sugar would make it bitter IMO.
it's not that type of cake - a "flourless chocolate cake" is a type of dessert, like a "blondie" or "flan" it's kinda a mix between a flan and cake I guess. It's VERY moist and very dense and VERY rich and I cut VERY thin slices for people and they struggle to finish it, I'd never frost it and it wouldn't be strong enough to stack
I'm sorry I don't do specialty diets - I eat high fat, high sugar, high protein and high carbs - this is just a dang good cake, not a gluten free thing.

+Robin Wilson YAY! and it's a very forgiving cake too, since it cooks so long you have some leway with taking it out, it's hard to over cook!
This looks gorgeous. I've seen a lot of flourless chocolate cake but this is the best-looking one I've seen. I will have to give it a try.

It looks like a brownie and probably tastes similar, i want to make it but is it worth the struggle??
It doesn't have the same flavor as a brownie so I think it is worth it:)

looks amazing !!!
can i reduce the sugar amount ?
personally I wouldn't - this is the flavor/balance I like obviously thus making it this way. because of the dark chocolate its not a very sweet cake and less sugar would make it bitter IMO.
Ashlee, can I use a 10x3 Springform pan ?
Can this cake be stacked and iced like your "perfect chocolate cake" is done?
