I remember when I first started watching you...the beginning of rookie. It was all about the pretties. It wasn't about what is this, does it have dendrites or manganese...it was just about the love. How did it become what is significant to other people before you put it in the bag??? Rookie, take what you feel, not bc it's important to other people, but bc it sparks that flame the puts you in the river to begin with. Sorry for what may seem like a negative comment, but I feel people are getting lost trying to impress instead of feeling the love and the emotions that come with finding something that speaks to your heart instead of impressing others.
No no, I hear you, and I really do appreciate what you said too. I think as I move along learning more I’ve found a joy in that learning so when I get the opportunity to fossick with others who really know the area, it’s the perfect learning environment for my brain type. So I just ask all the questions, even ones others would consider stupid. But I haven’t lost that wonder for pretty and interesting “stuff”. It’s just that now I have an even bigger curiosity loop from seeing the pretty’s to wondering about the pretty’s and then trying to find out what the pretty’s are. But there’s rocks there I would have usually taken. I just had to think about the cost of putting them in my luggage and I knew there would be at minimum, another 4 to 5 hunts left in the trip. It was a weird situation being forced to be selective haha. Not my strongest suit to be honest.
But again, I do appreciate you mentioning that mate. It means you care about the authenticity of “rookie” as much as I do. Cheers brother
Such a blast brother!!!! It seriously feels like that was just a few weeks ago, can not believe its been months already 😭 absolutely can not wait to see the rest of your videos from the trip man! And looking forward to making more with you soon!😁
Dude suuuuuuch a blast! This was a perfect example of how much knowledge was just flooding out of you guys out there 🤣
Miss you big brother!!!!!
Oh, wow, Jesse, this is so great! I was blessed to be able to get out for a hunt with you while you were here. :) Great video - as always - I could just feel your excitement as I watched, and it made me smile all over again. :) Oh, no, I used two smiley faces in my post - better end with another one! 😁
We need to convince Kate and Theo to start a guided rockhounding tours business! I’d pay good money to be taken along for a hunt! 👌
I agree!! I'd def pay for a trip like that! Like an annual field trip! I'm def voting for it!!
First!🤣 Okay watching now
Marvelous finds.
Hey Rookieeeee! Thanks so much for sharing- I think I smiled the whole time i watched this. You crack me up with your down to earth personality and rockhounding exploits. Glad you had a great time in Yellowstone country.
So cool seeing you 3 together.
Lol. Had to laugh at your water bottle. You did good! I get my agates from Lake Superior. They are a lot different from Montana agates.
Dude! That was sick! 😂 Being kiwi, I feel more in touch with the Aussie slang and humour than the American versions. I love how you’re just you and Theo just getting a bit lost with the language. Love you all, and been waiting ages for this to drop! Absolutely amping to get my butt down to our South Island at the end of the month for hiking and hopefully some hounding too. Can’t wait for the next episode!
👋💙 Hey rookie!
Heyyyyyyyyyyo!!! 🎉🎉🎉
So nice to see a video from you and especially from your trip to Yellowstone and what you found there. Hope you also show us more videos from Australia and your types of gemstones.
Hellooooo 🎉🤪😂
Heyyyyyyyyyyyyoooo!🎉🎉🎉
What an adventure, cant wait to see everything you bought back from Montana.
Great video Mr. Rookie!
Nothing beats rock hounding with friends having fun!!!!!
Such an amazing time on the Yellowstone and with some of the best teachers in the world, IMHO! You really couldn't ask for any more knowledgeable people than the ones you were with! It looked like such a blast! ❤
Doin Rookie 🤙 what a blast, good times bruh, lotsa pretties thanks for posting ❤🇦🇺💯
Exploring new areas is always a blast especially with great friends!
Glad you had so much fun. Have loved watching your videos feels like there finding these beautiful rocks
I'm so glad to see you back, and in Montana! Woo hoo! That's on my bucket list and I live in Washington. Thanks for sharing some of your adventures. Blessings
What an awesome day! ❤
❤
Really great video... It's strange seeing it from a different perspective.. I'm so glad you had such a great time and found some beautiful stuff. It's been super great watching all of this happen over the past few months...
Thanks mate! Yeah it’s weird seeing the other guys videos. It’s like a whole nother story going on on the same day and I get to rewatch it from their perspective. It’s been so amazing being over there for this experience. Very very lucky! 😊🇦🇺
@Rookie_Rockounding it's truly been amazing
So awesome. You all are truly like family. I'm so happy for you to be able to come over to the States.
Watched this three times in row and can't get out of my head your passion and enthusiasm
Makes me want to jump in the car and head to Stanthorpe and hunt Topaz
Thank you so much and can't wait for the next one
Ahhhh the best way to start a Saturday!!!😅
Happy Saturday mate!
Rook! I hope you had the time of your life! Big love from San Diego! Thank you Theo and the gang for showing Rook American hospitality!
Awesome video Rookie. I know exactly how you felt on this hunt. I had the pleasure of hunting with Kate and Theo back in the spring. It was a dream come true.
I can see how much you loved coming to the US. What a great opportunity! How many pounds of rocks did you bring home? These are things i ponder...
I think your 'water spray' bottle is better because it has a lid and you can fill it up with river water...🤭 just have to keep it propped up so water doesn't leak 🤣...and, harder to clog 'cuz it doesn't have water line, nozzle, etc 🤣 and can tie a few backups to your pack just in case 😂...I'm going rock hounding next Spring, just wish it was near the Yellowstone River 😁
Wow... Montana is beautiful and such pretty rocks! I'm curious if you were able to bring your finds back into Australia on the plane?!
Very cool trip Jesse!
Yay! Been looking forward to this one. 😎
I hope you like it Mar! Next time I’m out there I neeeeeeeed to come see you! Seriously! Big love sis
Wow! New bucket list location unlocked.
👍👍👍
So glad you came to enjoy the days with Kate and theo..
Just so awesome. We need to do a rock hound together in Australia I am in Brisbane
So glad you got to experience the Yellowstone!
I've only been once, but I'm planning a trip back there for next year.
If I had a 'bucket'...the list would be 'rockin'.
Wow to the rocks. Who knew how well Aussies could mix with Montanian's - yay to it all!!!
Really cool stuff, been enjoying all of you dropping videos.
So happy you had such a great time with Katy and Theo! Some great finds there, mate. ❤️🏏🎸
Rookie, Rookie, Rookie on the River! 🎸. Glad you got out there with the “Dids” and Theo, looks like you had a wonderful time. ❤
😂😂😂 Jess, the look on Theo’s face when you said you can take a bath in it, ie WT# are you talking about. 😂😂😂
I take it you meant the bath salts with magnesium, 😂😂, sorry mate that cracked me up & Jenny just looked at me with the same expression.
Great video Jess, some of those pieces are rippers, those stromatalites are just amazing.
Really enjoyed the video. Keep Safe.
Hahaha yeah… that was a common occurrence during the whole trip. Theo would be sprouting off rock and fossil wisdom left right and centre and I’d chime in with something that really had very little informational value… 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@ 😂😂😂 - it is quite interesting when you go to somewhere different and have others advising you what to look for.
It appears that the material on the Yellowstone looks quite different to the rocks in our creeks & rivers. Takes a while to get your eye in especially when there a so many different types of rock in the one area.
Jessie, your commentary is so funny! I love milk agate, I have several on my windowsill above my sink. But jaspers are the best.😁
I seen their videos already and was waiting for yours to come out. It was so enjoyable to have you in the United States. ❤
I love listening to you guys interact. So fun.
Oooh your own montana arkenstone at the end! What a lovely gift! Lucky lad. Nice vid
I am so glad you met the world’s finest humans. They are likewise lucky. Please come back. Thanks for the video.
I'm so glad you got to go! What most people don't realize is there is a super-volcano underneath the Yellowstone! So, that's why there are so many rocks related to volcanic activity there.
What a thrill to see all the great agaters together!!!! What a treat for you to make it across the pond to explore the Yellowstone! I haven't had the privilege yet,but thank you for bringing us along!
Omgosh I was so excited for you, watching you with all of them. You are such a nice caring person and love seeing you on Yellowstone here & here in America. And hey, I can’t identify a lot of rocks in America or identify them wrong. So if they are pretty to my eyes I grab them and I don’t care what they are. Loved your video. This is the first video from you on Yellowstone with best rockhounds in Montana. And I enjoyed it so much. Thank you for sure in your time here in America! I hope you come back soon but I also hope Theo goes to Australia so you could show him.
I sooooo want to go rockhunting on the Yellowstone someday!
Oh wow, thats really experience of a life time❤.
Really shows how u all enjoyed ur time together and became like family🥰reslly awesome, thx for sharing❤👋🇫🇮
Cool place with nice company!🎉

Thank you so much my friend, I genuinely appreciate your words
So glad you love Montana and the Yellowstone River. Great video!!!! And great finds!
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!!
Love that Red Jasper!
It’s just perfect video❤❤❤❤❤
I was just driving through Montana and we stopped along the Yellowstone for lunch. I got to spend 20 minutes looking at rocks as no one else was into the rocks. One of the best 20 minutes of my life and I found only one small piece of jasper.
Another wonderful video! I'm so glad you had such a great time!🥰
Loved it was a good trip for you brother great vid to ❤
Hey Pauly!!!!!!!!!! Thanks man yeah it was a weird experience being on the Yellowstone with these two. Very very lucky hey. I’ve got rocks for you too. I just need to actually catch up with you. I hope you and Donna and the family are keeping well brother ❤️
Weird as in surreal haha not weird weird, but pinching myself weird 🤦♂️
Marvelous finds jesse.
So happy for you Jesse to have had such an experience! I hound like you. My son tends to spot all the good agate stuff, while I'm completely distracted by all the other eye-catching pretty things. 😂 Anyway, I love rocks so much, but somehow watching this video of your experience and your authentic love for this stuff, makes me love rocks even more! 😁 💞
You all are awesome
Beautiful stone and video 🌹💐❤
Beautiful rocks!
Your videos are so good Jesse. So much more than beautiful rocks man, I've watched this 4 times now and I feel like I'm there with you guys while watching. Your editing is phenomenal, I felt such a range of emotions for a 20 minute video. Can't wait for your next Montana episode but I will man, you're doing an amazing job
I hope you brought some of these home! I can see some of those tumbled already!
Wonderful video as usual. It’s very cool seeing a familiar place through new eyes. I’ve seen so many videos at the Yellowstone but never been there myself, I imagine I’ll be as excited as you when I finally check that off my list. Thanks for sharing the experience with us! ❤Muh
Epic hunt!
Hey Rookie, great video!!! 👏. Ive been a subscriber of Katydid and Theo for quite some time... I'm now subscribing to your channel! I look forward to seeing more of your videos! We look for Lake Superior agates over in Northern Michigan! Thank you for your genuine personality!
Loving these adventures! I also founds some amazing agatized wood and jasper on my return trip to Oregon when I drove through! Can't wait for more of your Montana adventures!
The tree Musketeers.

That looked like a yellow jellybean.
🥰❣💯👍
Did you say pert wood? 😊
😂 yeah my brain mixes words really good
@Rookie_Rockounding
Dude, that's why you're universally loved, admired and adcepted. Agripted. Encrypted. Whatever, you know what I mint. Ment. Tried to say. And I'd have kept that milk agate too. It was beautiful.
@RickSmith-kp3sy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh man I loved that! 😂😂😂
