Hell yeah.
"3 MC's and 1 DJ" Thank me later!!!
Hell yeah. All their songs are bangers but the one take 3 mc's & 1 dj is impressive. Mix master Mike will blow this young fella's mind
💯
Truth
This is the one.
i was gonna say this too haha good lookin out
Beasties aren't just some white boys that jumped on the wagon- they were hiphop pioneers and are enshrined in the rock n roll hall of fame. Played their own instruments, as well, with instrumentals also on every album, and they play live on David Letterman version of "Sabotage"- well worth the view. So many other bangers- throw a dart!

@@wilcross50your point?
@@wilcross50that's a pretty Jewish comment my dude.
OG hip hop royalty! A huge rabbit hole to go down with 30+ years of music to explore.
Getting damn near the 40 year mark of that first album!
Beastie Boys are the GOATs man. Started out in 1981 as a hardcore punk group. Fast forward 2 years, they needed a DJ to do the scratching at gigs for their 1983 experimental single 'Cooky Puss', they meet Rick Rubin and he performed as DJ Double R. Rick Rubin meets Russell Simmons and they start Def Jam. Beastie Boys are one of the first acts on the label. First rap group to have a #1 album on Billboard with their Diamond status debut LP 'Licensed to Ill' (1986). After a falling out over non payment for the record sales, Beastie Boys signed with Capitol Records and released, in my opinion, the greatest album of all time, 'Paul's Boutique' (1989). A sampling masterpiece. Followed that up with another masterpiece 'Check Your Head' (1992) where they went back to their instrument playing roots. Its Mike D on drums, Adrock on guitar, MCA on bass, they make their own beats, Mario Caldato Jr engineered Paul's Boutique (Apple's 48th greatest album of all time), and then produced the next 3 albums with Hello Nasty (1998) being the last, which features Intergalactic and other GREAT singles and tunes. Give the Beastie Boys a deep dive, you wont be disappointed. They are just fun and great human beings. Some fantastic tunes to start out with would be Paul Revere, So Whatcha Want, Shake Your Rump, Sabotage, 3 MCs and 1 DJ...
And after Hello Nasty, they released their next albums "To the 5 Boroughs", "The Mix-Up" and then "Hot Sauce Committee Part 2".
THIS is why we can’t get into today’s music- it CAN NOT COMPETE! 💯🤣
Beastie Boys are the innovators of Hip-Hop style. They say it in the song “From the family tree of old school hip-hop”. They’re part of the roots of that tree.
Absolutely!!!
"Got an A from Moe Dee for sticking to themes".
If you like Beasties watch the video for "Ch-Check It Out" they did on Letterman. They started rapping from the subway and ended on stage. It was epic!
so you just spoiled it lol
Beasie boys "Brass Monkey" if you want that old school club vibe
Great live version from Madison Square Garden!
Slow and Low got that bass drop and is 🔥😎🔥
My favorite!!
The Beastie Boys have so many great songs!!!!
Sabotage, Paul Revere, No Sleep Til Brooklyn and Brass Monkey to name a few.
Great reaction as always. Keep up the fantastic work! ❤
Thank you🤝🏽
Paul Revere should be your next track
Try Paul Revere, Shake your Rump, so what cha want, no sleep to Brooklyn, Brass monkey, fight for your right to party and many more. this is the #1 rap group of all time.
This dropped when I was still in high school. Back then, students could bring in the latest CDs and have songs played on the speakers during lunch. Intergalactic was played once a day for at least half the school year. Also, the album version ends with Biz Markie reacting to the song and doing a brief freestyle. And as others in the comments have noted, the Beastie Boys aren't some random group of guys; their music spans decades, and the hip hop genre owes at least some of its existence to them. There will never be another group like them, and music is all the lesser for it.
Three MCs and One DJ has one of the best DJs of all time. Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighly recommend it.
I grew up with this stuff and I really didn't appreciate it enough at the time. Listening to a lot of this music again as a much older adult... man, it's so good.
3 MCs and 1 DJ, Sure Shot, The New Style
Beastie Boys - Best selling rap group of ALL TIME. This came out in 1998, from their 5th album release. You can't miss with these other music videos by them: "So Whatcha Want", "Sure Shot", "3 MCs and 1 DJ", "Root Down", "Pass the Mic".
These boys are clowns! Very talented cloens, they make you smile every time you hear them! Super awesome, they're not taking anything seriously.
Great Group and I Love this Song
Definitely a banger ‼️
Sabotage (my favourite BB's track), No Sleep Til Brooklyn, Fight For Your Right, all awesome tracks, Nat
You f'd up the drop. Wow.
Beastie Boys are LEGENDS!! Grew up with them since the 80's!!
Their album License to Ill was the first rap album to hit number one on billboard back in 1986
🔥😎🔥wore out my tape
I know many are young but I'm still STUNNED when someone says they've never heard of the Beastie Boys. Ohh well, time does move on.
The New Style. Still amazing after 38 years!
Their style is the hardest evolution of real Old School hip hop (on the beat, slow flow 1979-1986 type shit). They kept this style their whole career but made it perfection. Accenting 0n and off the beat like they do when rapping together, it's mind blowing.
Shake your Rump, bangerrrrr
Their song Pass the Mic next! Awesome flows and beat
By this time, Mix Master Mike was their DJ (check out 1 DJ and 3MCs. ) DJ Hurricane had broken off into his own band, and Rick Rubin was their DJ on the first album. This was about 1994. This is off their 4th album. The Beastie Boys were there at CBGB's, hearing Blondie do the first rap that got popular in 1981, and then heard Herbie Hancocks ROCK IT, (the first record with scratching on it) and then their popularity came on the heels of RUN DMC and Jam master Jay(the kings of Rap) they starred with them in Krush Groove, and then had the biggest selling rap album in history, Started def jam records with Run and the crew, and discovered LL Cool J. The Beastie Boys (1978-2012) are the crowned princes of RAP. SHE"S CRAFTY/NEW STYLE/SURE SHOT/ SHAKE YOUR RUMP/STAND TOGETHER/ The entire Paul's Boutique album, Gratitude/WHATCHA WHATCHA WANT/ and many many more.
Great info for my man. I have 21 of their CDs (yup, old). From Punk to Hip Hop. 3 MCs and 1 DJ is so fire, Paul's Boutique is Hip Hop gold.
The first mainstream song with scratching on it was Paul Simon's "Me and Julio Down by the School Yard" almost a decade before Rockit. Not to take anything away from Rockit... it was an awesome song!
Thank you for the info!
More BEASTIE BOYS!!!!
SHAKE YOUR RUMP
SO WHATCHA WANT
SABOTAGE
SKILLS TO PAY THE BILLS (LIVE VERSION)
3 MCS AND 1 DJ
THANK YOUUUUUU FOR REACTING TO THE GREAT BEASTIE BOYS ❤❤❤❤❤
"Sabotage" live on Letterman is brilliant .
BEASTIE BOYS! Legends and legendary. Go down that rabbit hole.....its a fun one 😀
Lemme answer some of your questions lol : I think Ad-rock said he's the one who made this beat. This was released in 1999. The video was paying homage to the old school Japanese monster movies.
Thank you!
The greatest musical rabbit hole you will ever go through! EVERYTHING IS A BANGER! 💯
I highly recommend “ Root Down”, “ Body Movin'”, "3 MCs and 1 DJ", "Shake Your Rump" and “ Sure Shot” . So many songs can be listed.
You could not turn on mtv without hearing Beastie Boys in the 90s…still sounds awesome
Peep out Sure Shot or So What Cha Want. Beasties had all the swag. True Pioneers of hip-hop
These dudes have been about from the early 80's. 'Legends' is an overused word, these guys are up there with Grandmaster Flash and the furious Five, Public Enemy, NWA etc.
New to your channel, but just wanted to say that back in 98/99 this album was everything music could be for me as a young teenager. This album is a classic and if you like this you seriously need to listen to the entire album start to finish in one sitting.
From a longtime beasties fan, welcome.
"PASS THE MIC" is another great song 👍
the robot is doin the robot....genius.
Hip hop fn legends❤
David Gilmour Comfortably Numb live at Pompei 2016.
David is the guitarist for the band Pink Floyd. After Roger waters left, David took over. The original song is from the 70s. This performance is from 2016 and David is 70 years old and is better than ever. Should be an American treasure. Amazing guitar.
Gotta watch WHAT'CHA WHAT'CHA WANT
Beastie Boys were New York City kids from the Run DMC era. They're in the movie Krush Groove! Toured with Public Enemy and Run DMC. They recommended teenage LL Cool J to Def Jam records. Old school!
Great reaction! Hip Hop legends. 3 MC 1 DJ, Paul Revere, So Watcha Want….. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
Paul revere will blow your mind 🤯
They’re just as good live!
My favs are high planes drifter, the new style, gratitude and so whatcha want by them ft cypress hill which is not the original but is just as good!
Great reaction!😎🍻
Paul Revere has to be next.
You gotta dig into "Watcha Want" too. You'll love it. Beastie Boys are lengendary!!
Bro do "So Whatcha Want" or " The New Style" you won't be disappointed. I just subscribed to hear your reactions to more Beastie Boys. It's a great rabbit hole.
I'm in my late 40's and grew up with Electro and it's transition into early Hip-Hop. I remember the Beasties had been quiet for a while, so when the Boys dropped this it was like a oldschool treat with a slightly modern twist. 3:58 I'm a nerd when it comes to specific things, so I remember my ears hearing "Rob Bottin" (special effects master on at least one of my favorite films of all time (The Thing)) and initially flipped out, but on subsequent plays realized it was "rhyme routine", haha.
Nice reaction and you seem like a very amiable person. Not swearing every other word. Subscribed. :)
Back in the 80s we were riding halfpipes cranking Beastie Boys and pissing off the neighbors.
Dude, so many more to check out! Top 3 group of why I got into hip hop back in the day
The grasshopper unit is a banger
"B for my name" is my fave instrumental funk song they did
These guys are hip hop royalty. If recommend “Too Many Rappers” with Nas, but honestly this guys are phenomenal; they are definitely a rabbit hole worth diving into. 👍🔥
Long, short, Ad Rock brought a demo to Rick Rubin out of the pile at the dorm, a 14 year old LL Cool J. Public Enemy opened for them. Think about that. I knew them from when we ran from playing CBGB up to the Fever in the Brpnx. No one on earth is funkier than a NY Jew, no question. You're got a lot of listening to do, this is hip hop royalty.
Root Down and Get It Together. Awesome songs!
Paul Revere will get ya for sure!!
"How do they all rap the same?"
Lots of practice. :)
So Whatcha Want needs to be on your shortlist.
No Sleep Til Brooklyn will always be my favorite and my first suggestion. Oldie but Goodie for sure!!
I am the same age as the Beasties grew up along with them. I have about 3000 records. So many of the jazz, soul and funk LPs I discovered through their records and dope samples
Love the Beasties!! Sabotage is my go to for work…
Dude got up and ran like 4 marathons when he heard the vocals kick in 🤣🤣🤣
I first discovered the Beasties back in 1983 in London England
I look forward to your Paul Revere and The New Style reactions....
Sabotage is another great track. This was about 1998 but they were around since the 80s
These guys are awesome!!! Definitely check out their music
Legends...Seen them 3 times. RIP Adam
They were a group of jewish kids from Brooklyn who were in a punk rock band in the 1980s. Rick Rubin got them to switch to rap music. The rest is history. They had been around for a while when this came out.
The absolute greatest of all time.
Enjoy your journey because you can't stop with just one.💜
New Style, So Watcha want, Hey Ladies,3 mcs and one DJ... and welcome to one of the God Fathers of Hip Hop.
Great reaction, definitely check out their first hit from the 80's, fight for your right to party. Another amazing one is Sabotage and you will LOVE the video. Thanks, keep up the awesome reactions, yours are among my favorites!
Root down is a song you'll definitely like
Definitely check out "proffesor booty" MCA goes hard on that song!
Beastie Boys sounded like the 90's in the 80's and 2000's.
OMG you had me falling off my sofa when they first started rapping 🤣😂🤣
😭😭😭
They started doing there own instrmentals too, they would record a instrumental funk album then hand the record to their dj.
‘There are bits of classical music flowing through this song. Rachmaninoff's "Prelude C-sharp Minor," sampled from a recording by Les Baxter played on a synthesizer, is blended into the verses. The piece of classical music at the beginning of the song is "Night on Bald Mountain" by Modest Mussorgsky. This part is edited out of the radio version. Also sampled is "Love is Blue" by The Jazz Crusaders.’
Go Go Power Rangers!
Go Go Godzilla
I agree with everyone else; Brass Monkey, Paul Revere, No Sleep ‘til Brooklyn.
I love that we get to watch you enjoy the Beastie Boys for the first time. Definitely check out Paul Revere.
And you gotta check out Skindred. Nobody or Gimme That Boom. Love the channel!
Thank you man!
I grew up listening to The Beasties. So. Many. Bangers. First album was 1986. You should go back to the beginning and start with stuff off the first album. Paul Revere, No Sleep Till Brooklyn, The New Style...ect. Then go album by album. You can hear how they literally evolved hip hop. They are Pioneers.
“So whatcha want” next bro
I'm pretty sure the video was inspired by the mad popularity of Power Rangers at that time, which was in itself inspired by many older Japanese shows.
Check out So What'cha Want live on Jimmy Fallon with The Roots providing the music. God damn it's good! You can really hear their different voices on that one.
The first thing I thought: I'd play this at a roller rink. Same!
For sure lol
"Root Down, "Professor Booty" and "What Chu Want" to begin the glorious journey that is the Beastie Boys.....
Family you're getting back to the route again... Educate to elevate.
The video is homage to old 1960's Godzilla Movies, and the robot scenes were filmed at the old 60's Godzilla movie studios. Hence why they're flowing mobbin around Japan the whole video
Welcome to Beastie Nation you will not be disappointed. One of the pillars of Hip Hop. Any suggestions will be a guaranteed good time.
Many good recommendations in the comments. I also want to throw 'alive' in the ring, it's forgotten a lot but I love it.
The Move by Beastie Boys and The ORIGINAL VERSION of Body Movin. There's a Fatboy Slim version but nobody reacts to the original.
If you like bass and bad ass rhymes, THE MOVE is a phenomenal track to check out! Incredible production.
Beastie Boys are the GOATS
down the rabbit hole ya go... great to watch every time :) take all the advice you get - listen to the beasties.
Gotcha💪🏽
Paul Revere!! 100%
Beastie Boys = GOAT
check these out from them, shows a few didn't styles of music they can do - "So What'Cha Want", "Sabotage", "Mullet Head" and "The Move"
"I don't get this video at all"
Dude was THIS CLOSE.
Real hip hop.
Ive heard this song 1000x. Never seen the video. Ending had some power rangers or godzilla vibes. All 90s stuff though, so makes sense.
My guy 🔥🔥🚀
💪🏽🔥
