Ive been saving my 83 pennys for years. Havent weighed them yet. I have a sandwich bag full of them. Yay to the future treasure hunt!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for watching!
I have my pennies separated by every year starting from the 40’s. Took me an entire winter to do, but it was easy to go into my 1983 bag and weigh every penny. None weighed 3.11 grams.
I have a 1982
I have a 1982 that wieghs 3. 1gm. Could it be as worth anything?
Hello I have a 1977 penny that weights 3.14 grams and i have a 1962 penny that weights 3.12 grams are these valuable
I did the same thing and it's so much easier to figure out your inventory😊
@@marybelolivas150 no they’re not. The reason the 83 copper is so valuable is because it was made with the metal from the year before. They changed from copper to copper plated zinc in 1982. So previous years will weigh 3.1ish grams
Been looking for this penny in Copper!!! I have the DDO Strong😊😊 Loved that “LET ME SAY THIS AGAIN”!!!! Lol you tell them Justin!!! Great video thanks for the info!!! I check every penny!!!
Thanks!
I have a coffee container full of 1982-83 pennies, hopefully I've got one. Just the other day I was checking my pocket change under the scope and came across a 1990d double die, not only were the letters and numbers doubled but the images on both sides were also. That's the biggest find of the year for me so I'm sending it in to have graded along with some other coins I have.
You are so helpful to all your viewers, Thank you for a good video! 👌✌👍👆
Thanks Lynn!

Couch Collectible, I just wanted to say thank you for education on how to identify all these pennies. I thank you for everything. I came across a few things, Since I am still looking for small date denver 1982 pennies weighing 3.1 grams, none of this were found, but I did noticed large date denver 1982 pennies weighing 3.1 gram, but the letter "D" are closer to 1982 than the others, on the other hand I did came across the 1983 one of the penny weigh 2.1 grams. What is the deal? Thank you.
Good to know Thanks for the info .
Thanks for watching!
Great information
They can also weigh less to be worth big money. I found a 1983 Lincoln cent that weighs 2.73g and is 80% copper and 20% zinc.
Thanks Couch
Thanks for watching!
I do weigh all 83's and sometimes other years if they look like they could be copper. Some I don't bother if they show zinc corrosion.
What do you do when the 1983 penny weighs 3.6, 3.7, 3.08, 3.09, or 3.10 grams? Then I found some that were over 3.11g. Are they worth anything? I also found a 1983 that weighed 2.95. Please help‼️
I have a 1983 D penny. It felt weird at the time so I put it to the side. It feels lighter than other pennies so I’m thinking it’s zinc? It almost looks like the strike is indented more than other pennies too.
1983-Ds are supposed to be zinc. It's the copper ones that are rare.
This is insane man! I have a ton of 1983 pennies that weigh 3.11 grams. I dont know how to sell them though. :/
Type in how to sell coins on RUclips and watch the 2 videos I made about where to sell coins.
EBay, Amazon or at coinshops.
Your Rich
I inherit a lot of old coins. Is there a place you recommend to go for evaluation in the Los Angeles San Fernando Valley? Thanks
Good deal thanks
Thanks for watching!
Sir Justin. What could you advise for me, because I got a 1983 D that weigh 3.1g. Thanks 🤗
I have a 1983 D penny that weighs 2.66 grams. My scale undoubtedly weighs everything accurately so that’s not an issue. I’ve been trying to find information on this coin and weight specifically, but have been unsuccessful. I guess my question is does this fall within tolerance? Thanks so much!!!
