Hi Phil the plastic windows that allow your marker lights are very important, with the cover fitted the caravan complies with Construction and Use Regulations. Lights must be visible and able to be operated from the car at all times. Some generic covers have small lights that fit in a pouch and can only be operated by physically switching them on. Imagine if you need to make an insurance claim and your insurer says “ Sorry your outfit didn’t comply with Construction and Use Regulations “
Hi Colin. Yes thats a very good point. They have really considered this and it overs more protection. I did use my Caravan Steps to finish of the installation but it does flap about when towing which is also a plus for me. Thanks Phil👍🙂
Hi Paul. Yes they are not cheap. I feel they are worth investing in. My storage yard is fully Caravans with Road tar stains and dirt. It is easy to fit and it folds into a small bag so takes up very little space. Thanks Phil👍🙂
Thanks Phil. Relatively simple to fit and it looks so well made. I must admit I tow bare and then weather permitting, I wash the front of the c'van once on site or back at home 😊
Hi Martin. I know not everyone uses a Tow Cover. I feel they are worth investing in. It takes less than 4 minutes to fit. and there is no washing before & after. Just swill with water and fit n go. Thanks Phil👍🙂
We just bought one of these and they protect the upper part of the roof window. Easier to put on than my last Specialised Cover on my last cover. However I now have to take set of lightweight steps to fasten the Velcro straps at the top, as the caravan steps do not provide enough height. Not an issue as they do come in handy. A great piece of kit and as usual well presented by you.
Hi Yes if your height restricting it can be a bit difficult. I managed with the Caravan steps. I was very pleased with the build quality and the use of materials. Thanks Phil👍🙂
@@lostweekendscaravan I’m not particularly short having had a previous existence like yours but it’s a stretch getting the Velcro tight. We used it for the first time going to Devon and back home, at one of the service areas a fellow caravanners showed quite a bit of interest in it.
@@noormancrabb6428 Yes I accept thats it can be a stretch. I have no doubt we will have a few looks soon as we venture out without. At present we have conduct Motorway tests with it and they have reassuring. Thanks again Phil.
You've given me Towing Cover Envy, Phil! Mine only comes up to the top of the window so I get a load of splatted bugs on the front of the roof. Great review, cheers!
We currently have the older lower version but we take delivery of out brand new van in a few weeks and your video has just reminded me to order the infinity cover.. great review, thank you
Hi Phil. As you know, we've just purchased the Swift Challenger 580 and would love one of these tow covers. We will certainly look into this as we have a universal tow cover that will not reach the top window. Thanks for sharing really interesting. Cheers, Paul and Sarah
Hi Paul & Sarah, The front of your New Caravan is vey similar to mine. The front skylight is sealed in. It gets covered in dead bugs etc. With this cover it protects the whole front. I can highly recommend this cover. We will be using it to venture into Holland this year. Thanks Phil👍🙂
Hi Mark. We have used one since we bought the van. I rarely tow without one. I have noticed lots covered in road tar which is a bugger to remove. Might be worth a try? Thanks Phil👍🙂
Hi Phil, I do like how the cover protects the top of the caravan 👍. I have a Protec cover that just covers above the windows. We haven’t got an infinity window but a higher cover would stop all those dead flies on the front of the roof. Our cover also has locker and grab handle access and is in two half’s with a zip up the middle so easy for one person to fit. Cheers for the video 😀,Rob
Hi Rob. Yes it does fully protect the front of the Caravan. No more dead bugs on the window which difficult to clean without the aid of step ladders. Thanks again Phil👍🙂
I agree with your views re tow covers. Ours is diffwrent but easier to fit & also has towing lightsi visible. It doesn't come quite so high, but we also don't need the front locker facility so it's worth it. Money well spent
Hi Linda. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Access to the front locker is important for us because you can get spot check re gas supply prior to boarding a Ferry. I do feel this Tow cover is ideal for Bailey's with the tall front window. Yes they are money well spent and the quality matches the cost. Thanks again Phil👍🙂
Hi Phil, Great informative video, I was very interested so I followed the link only to see that Specialised covers only do the Infinity for 2019 onwards caravans, and no full window tow covers at all for Lunar caravans. What a shame 😕
Hi Shirley. Our Caravan is 2018 Model. If you contact them they will make one for your Caravan no matter the age as long as it has an awning rail on either side. Thanks for watching. Phil👍🙂
Tow covers are often bought to keep the van clean, but the best reason to use them is to protect from damage- especially these days with the quantity of debris that is on the road ready to flick up- remember the good old days when roads were swept? Any cover should not rub the bodywork underneath, or your window- so don’t buy cheap!!
Hi JH. Yes the main reason is to protect the Caravan from stones etc. The inside of this cover has a fleece type lining plus it fits to this van. The cheaper ones tend to not fit properly and rub on the caravan. Thanks for watching and commenting. Phil👍🙂
Hi. Welcome to our channel. I bought a 2018 Sprite Major 4sb new a few years ago but there have been some changes to it along the way. Also welcome to Caravanning. There are plenty of helpful videos on here that will make your Caravanning life more easier. We review Products now and again which helps support the repairs/fixes and improvements which I try to explain as simply as I can. The channel is now self funding so please feel free to comment and like. Many Thanks Phil.👍🙂
Hi IB. I feel any cover is a winner. I valet them so I have seen some bad caravans. I feel the Specialised infinity offers more protection and is very well sewn together. Pro tec’s is a minute quicker to fit but it doesn’t cover to the a frame but it depends on personal choice. Having now had both I do like the infinity. It’s been great towing to Holland. Now back to my 🍷 thanks Phil🙂👍

When the van is in storage do you close the blinds? I’ve heard this can “blow” the windows???
Hi No. I close the curtains. Closing the curtains also prevent mould an allows the air to circulate. Thanks Phil.👍🙂
