Exactly. Unless thats a white person thing, and in that case, it's probably wavy since ppl dont understand the difference. For example, idiots think Moana has curly hair when its wavy since it has no spiral. I think most ppl just misidentify what type of hair they have and forget common knowledge.

NortexG - Art i don't think curly hair is actually less common in men, it's just that men with curls tend to cut their hair short enough that it doesn't have room to curl/the curls aren't very visible. i support anyone embracing their curls though! (i'm a lesbian so i'm not really the best person to ask when it comes to what's attractive about men lol, but i definitely know straight & bi girls who like it)

It's also the angle that the hair grows out of the head at. I'm a cosmetologist, and often use the ribbon analogy to explain curly or wavy hair to my clients. If you look at a strand of curly hair under a microscope you will see that the more curly it is the more flat it is. Straight hair look more cylindrical like a string. This is also why some hair can 'hold' a shape better after using a curling iron or flat iron. The severity of the flat or round shape of the hair strand will determine the ability to manipulate it. Curly hair can also more pron to split ends due to this shape.

My parents both have wavy hair. Since hair type is an incomplete dominant gene, this means that their genotype is Cs, curly being dominant and straight being recessive. Three of my siblings have wavy hair (Cs), one has straight hair (ss), and I have curly hair (CC), which more or less follows the 25%/50%/25% calculation for incomplete dominance. I learned about hair genetics in my human genetics class in college and it was one of my favorite classes. With that said, thanks for putting this video up! One thing I didn't know was that curly hair tangles less. I learn something new every day.

Hair contains a lot of sulfur (remember when Trace mentioned keratin, cysteine, disulfide bonds) so when it's burned it produces a sulfurous odor. Is that what you were asking?

I think one of the reasons we have hair it's that hair help our body lose heat faster.Our brain use a lot of energy,therefore,produces more heat.Other parts like testicles also have more hair than most parts of the body.

I have straight, fine hair that goes down to my butt and even if I comb it so thoroughly you could run a nit-comb through it without meeting any resistance, as soon as I flip my hair to the other side I might as well start combing it from the beginning again. It is ALWAYS tangled. And it being tangled becomes even more ovbious to others, since it's so straight and fine.
I guess I come from a *privileged* family. Both of my grandfathers had... straight, white, male hair.

I have small follicles but A LOT of them! So the hairdressers do never want to thin out the hair because I "have so thin hair already". The problem is that I have so many follicles my hair get knots (yes, knots) when I sleep and such. I have to brush my hair at least twice a day because I have so many strands of hair that they tangle whenever I put on a cap or sit with my hair against a pillow or anything. It's very annoying to have these small follicles, because people don't understand that it's my hair strands that are thin, not the amount of hair :/ Also, the times I've been able to convince a hairdresser to thin out my hair they are like "Oh, your hair seems to much thicker now, how can that beeee?", which is because the hair strands normally lie on each other and weighting down the hair making it totally flat, but when I get it thinned out the strands don't weight down each other which make my hair puffy.
You know what really grinds my gears? When T-shirts have are incorrectly stickered or just impossible. White and yellow are opposite colours

Apologies in advance for being one of these guys to say "oh you should make a video on..." and then talk about a completely unrelated topic to the video, but I'm really hoping this channel makes a news update about a crazy research breakthrough in quantum physics that just happened yesterday (or at least was reported yesterday). Quantum physicists managed to supercool matter below the previously thought limit in physics. I have the typical east asian straight black hair. It's very very maintainable. To keep that luster and shine, just wash everyday. I don't even use hair conditioner.

I had straight hair when i was about 5 and now i have curly hair. Every one thinks that i had a perm but no it just happened. It started getting curly at eight grade but my hair started out as it being so frizzy at second grade. But my hair back then was so smooth and silky and so so straight. It is actually very weird to others and my parents especially my former classmates in elementary. Idk how it happened but yeah it did.

Rick94rr i think it's just different. curls tangle less often, but when they DO tangle they're harder to detangle. like straight haired people brush their hair every day but curly people obviously shouldn't brush their hair dry. i don't brush my hair (i detangle in the shower) & i think if my straight haired friends did the same, they would get a higher amount of tangles than me but each tangle would be easier to untangle.

My hair started to become wavy when I turned 25 and more curly each year after. It started when I noticed I had one ringlet in the mirror and before long it was the same texture over my whole head.

I've always had a head full of curly hair. Big curls, tight curls, afro curls.. being black with wide curls was always brought to my attention. Here I am at age 52, and still hearing about my curls. For a while I cut it down. Sterotypes are we aren't serious, weak, have it easier in life. We must be mixed. That's probably a perm. We think we are better. And of course, everyone wants to touch it. What do we use in it.. lol. It never stops. So after several years you just wait for the question, or sterotype, or for many guys, the insults.

I have curly hair, but it doesn't curl like in a corkscrew or a spring; instead it moves in a disc shaped spiral, like in a spiral galaxy or the Fibonacci. It is definitely curly and not wavy though. Who knows what would happen if I let it grow out more, right now it only will stretch enough to go to my chin.
