Right? I'm tired of there being game reviewers who don't even actually play the game lol
They are there as the audience conduit. Asking questions that people watching who haven’t played the game may want to know. They aren’t providing a score for review, just participating in the discussion with the reviewers.
@@psitsnate954 Absolutely! I was just cracking a joke. I’m not nearly as bothered by it as the other person who replied seems to be. I’ve actually noticed that usually when they have someone on who hasn’t played the game, they take some time to make sure they have a topic to speak on in the second half of the episode about whatever they have been playing. I just noticed that Andy’s part of the show was very small this time around and made a bad joke about it.
Funny, I dropped Dying Light 2 roughly half way through the story and never came back to it. But I am absolutely enthralled with Dead Island 2. Story is paper thin but the side quests and the characters you meet through them is what shines through.
Seems like something I'll pick up on a steam sale in two years when I need some dumb fun
Sounds like a good 20 dollar pickup for me at some point. I like a good mindless podcast game.

Im absolutly loving Dead Island 2, as a huge fan of the first game and riptide (got both platinum trophies) this game is such a treat, from gameplay, characters and exploration is what i needed for it to be. Im about 30 hours in and is definitely a game i will get the platinum for, I'm in the 1% of fans that was actually waiting for this to release and so far it hasn't disappointed, the new Flesh system is insane, some of the best skin ripping and bone breaking visuals i have seen in a game.

Loved the first two games in this series, very much looking forward to this new entry

I agreed with most of the review but what was really upsetting is that not once did anyone mention the revolutionary new system called FLESH.
It’s what made the game more enjoyable for me and would love for you all to discuss this in a separate video.
In ending, I would give the game a 3.5/5
Does Mike know this isn't done by techland? when talking about no grappling hook etc that was never going to be included this is dead island not dying light
Mike doesn't know who Techland is. He just talks lol sometimes about the topic at hand
This game does look fun. Im excited to try it! Hipefully vendors either sell ammo or you can craft. I know in the OG you can buy ammo in certain portions of the game. To me the biggest downside of this game is no new game plus.

Blessing, the first 30 mins is just the introduction. Every new game has to be played for at least 2 hours and I think you’d enjoy it a lot more at that point.
The skill upgrades 2 hours in make the game and combat feel more fluid.

Personally I'm still picking up the game day1. Not many current games like it on the market besides Dying light 2. It looks fun. It'll keep me entertained for the week until Jedi Survivor and Tears of the Kingdom.

Dead Island 1 is always in my top 5 games not because of it being a good game, but because me and my friend played it for hours on end & had so much fun. We used to openly take the mick at the characters and how poorly written & fake deep it was. This sounds like it’s gonna be very similar l and just mindless dumb fun. My friend and I will be picking it up day 1. Our almost decade long wait for this game has finally arrived. Can’t wait.
As a person who only started playing Dead Island after the 2nd game was finally given a proper release date, and hasn't played either Dying Light games, this games sounds perfect to me. I just want an updated Dead Island and that's what I'm getting.

If anyone was expecting anything more than a 3/5 you're a fool this looks like a great dumb fun zombie game which sounds pretty good for me

@@mrmack3176 Dead Island 1 was fresh and unique and did very very well what it attempted. Then the developers lost the name and moved on to create Dying light. One of the best genre games with over hundreds of hours gameplay and genius parkour open world action rpg mixture. They also added new content even years after the game game out. Then they topped it with dying light 2. Now Dead Island 2 on the other hand, is the publishers attempt, who lost the team who made part 1, to continue it but its basically a short 20hours grounded dead island 1 far from what dying light delivered

I have played it now, it's actually really good. Thoroughly enjoyed myself playing this.
Played about 10 hours. I agree with what you guys said but I have to say I'm enjoying it. It's just turn your brain off dumb fun.

How can you even compare those two games!? Totally different ply styles and concepts.
Days gone was and still is AMAZING.
That being said looking forward to paying and having dumb fun with DI2

Huh, I was very disappointed with Dying Light 2. I thought it was a step back in every aspect from ghe first game except the traversal.
Oh really, i am playing that now and think it's awesome but i didnt play the first one.

That's very interesting. 3/4 of the way through DL1 I was ready for it to be over. Whereas, with DL2 I kept going back for the gameplay loop. Beyond that, the voice acting was atrocious in DL1 due to budget constraints and translation issues, and we got Rosario Dawson among the rest of the cast with maybe 1 or 2 stinkers in there. The graphics are some of the best with raytracing enabled on PC - and it still runs very well. Both had bad endings though, which I think soured the experience for KF and others.
Dead Island 2 is way better than Dying Light 2, It's not even close. LA is gorgeous and full of detail, I enjoyed exploring every location. The fact you have guns already blows DL2 out of the water. I give it 8/10.

Intentional marketing. They know this is going to get people who go ooo a new game when they open their store, and people when it goes on sale in 3 weeks. They know marketing for this game is just more money sunk.
Its on store pages I have seen if for months. Its a zombie game what marketing we know what we're in for anyone expecting more is brain dead
You weren't paying attention. They did a whole marketing beat last month, including moving it's release date up a weak to get out of Jedi: Survivors way.
Decent is what I expected from this since the day it was announced. I’ll pick it up during a deep sale.
Sounds like you guys just want another Dying Light. For half of the this video you guys compared this to Dying Light and wanted Dead Island to have the same movement system, environment and story telling. When literally that’s why the original Dead Island team split up in the first place to make Dying Light. So why would Dead Island just become Dying Light when there is a reason why they named different things?
I didn't like dying light 2 but I did really like dying light. I think I will like dead island 2 more.

I hated Dying Light 2. Bland game with a check-mark open world, terrible story and frivolous combat. I doubt this game is worse than that, all imo tho
Dying light 2 sucked all the fun out that was in the first dying light game. To put it bluntly dying light 2 was boring. I don’t expect that from dead island but we will see.
I disagree with mike as I'm glad it's boots on the ground because it's dead island and not dying light. If I wanted a game with wall run or grapple hook I would play dying light 1 /2
It's admittedly on brand - kinda funny - that a decidedly mid game like Dead Island 2 gets a full review, while Walking Dead Saints & Sinners Ch. 2 Retribution gets nary a mention and Resident Evil Village VR gets shrugged off - both of which are top-of-class zombie games and some of the best gaming experiences of the past decade.
games are so exspensive on console now because of the new consoles an shi like i remember when the next gen consoles were coming out they were saying games were gonna increase from being 60 to 70 or 80 thats why its 60 on pc

All the clips of Dead Island I’ve seen look like it’s a game from 2017/18. I don’t have any interest in playing a 5 year old new game.
Dead island 2 combat system and combat itself is way better then dying light 2.

But they gave Callisto Protocol a 4/5… if the developer was here they would have also given this game a 4/5.
