We have Waymo driverless autonomous taxis in Los Angeles now too. It's a bit unsettling to ride in one at first, especially when you get inside and it tells you that it's locking you in for your own safety, but after 3 minutes, you just start playing on your phone and it becomes the new "normal."
Nice story and you articulate the feelings many coming from the Midwest or East have on visiting the Bay Area. I grew up next to San Jose (Saratoga) and then lived in the Santa Cruz Mountains for about 6 years. I loved growing up in California, but Maryland is my happy home now for over 40 years. I love hot, sticky, sweaty summers here in Baltimore. Wearing coats in the Summer in San Francisco or Oakland.....not my cup of tea!
It’s the SF Bay which, you’ve probably figured out, is the ocean. I used to live in Half Moon Bay. If you follow highway 1 south towards Santa Cruz, there’s probably other nude beaches somewhere. I never had the courage when I was living there to check such things out. If you can afford it, the Santa Cruz, Carmel, and Monterey areas are well worth checking out.
Such a shame you missed the nude beach below the Golden Gate Bridge. There are actually at least three nude beaches around San Francisco. The one you tried to get to is accessible from the top of the bridge. If you had gone to the bridge museum on the South pier, you can walk under the bridge itself to some old WW-II gun emplacements. If you walk on top of those gun emplacements, their is a trail that winds precariously down the cliff to the nude beach. Alternatively, you can travel South from the bridge along the Pacific for about a half mile and there is a large sandy beach with easy access. If you walk North on that beach you get to a rocky outcrop and if you climb over or go around that outcrop that is the second nude beach in SF. You can also cross the Golden Gate Bridge to Marin and take the first exit on the right to go up into the Marin Headlands park. About a mile around the headlands road you will find a small parking lot on the left overlooking the Pacific and the entrance to the Golden Gate. Follow the path down the hillside, and you will find TWO nude beaches side by side ,both are black sand (rock) and both are fantastic. If you ever return to San Francisco, they are WELL WORTH the effort to find them, believe me :)
Folsom is fun…you should go. The bridge crosses the bay which connects to the ocean…😂 My partner and I had moved there and actually travelled for work and missed Folsom, but I’ve got pics if ya like. They’re clean because it was actual film. We were there for 6 years and we never got to the nude beach.
Haven't been to the nude beach (because I'm usually only in Berkeley) but it's a hike from the southern start of the Golden Gate Bridge, although I have seen guys nude closer to the bridge. It's called Baker Beach and is technically 1/2 mile of so south west of the Golden Gate Bridge, on the south west side of the Presidio.
You have an incredible warm voice... I very like listening all your stories.... a little bit of 'hot' stuff would be even greater,,, as long this still follow RUclips policies... Just a note about using Uber... I HATE that those Uber BLOCK the streets when waiting for a passenger,,, Also I never in my whole life used a taxi.. I could not afford it... and I always relied on public transportation In many cities now you can even just buy a bus or train ticket with your phone and used your phone as a pass. Last summer I was visiting switzerland, and in cities like Zurich with a tourist pass you can even take a cruise on the lake. Why not taking a ride using public transportation in one of your chats, I always talked to a loot of people tis ways... It's amusing sometime how people in few minutes give you a summary of their whole life and activities or interests they have... BTW, in San Francisco, at the De Young museum in the Golden Park, there is a painting exhibition about Tamara de Lempicka, She introduced the Art Deco style and I would strongly recommend it, even if this would cost almost like a Uber ride !!!
Golden Gate Bridge, Transamerica Building, Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill, Alcatraz, Lombard Street.."The Crookedest Street In The World"....theres a LOT in San Francisco
Your trip reminds me of my first one to SF. I knew there were some gay landmarks but I didn’t know where they were and how best to get to them. At least I found “The Castro” and on my 2nd trip, I went straight back there to the bars. A couple more visits and I knew which bars were my semipermanent “base camps” for future adventures. And, back then there were Gay newspapers at the bars and gay sops in The Castro that provided guides to help you get to the various landmarks.
I went to SF once. I hated it there. I knew nothing of the city. I knew it was a major part of the LGBTQ+ community. I then went to SD and found a nice community there. Regardless, that was decades ago. Thank you for the post!
We went to the world’s largest Starbucks in Shanghai. It is over 30,000 square feet. They roast the beans there. It is still the same coffee as in the US.
Interesting that you went online for Starbucks and Uber, but you didn't check out the layout or geography of a place you never visited? Poor planning or time management.
Hey just started watching, liking your stories so far!
The Golden Gate Bridge crosses the golden gate strait the channel connects San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean

a "bay"?
Is this story going anywhere?

Where are we going with this?
Bro you can actually walk under the bridge!! I've done it
You were probably thinking about san francisco bay, the body of water the golden gate bridge crosses.
Please keep posting! You are a fun watch. The water to your right is called the BAY. And BTW the land on the other side of the bay is called Oakland.
Agree . Fun story teller
The building used to an Army fort
You can cross under if you take the path up to the visitor’s center and the tunnel is right there

You missed a wonderful beach. When it's warm (September) Baker beach is great place to visit. Maybe next time you're in San Francsico.

Awesome time you had in SF brother.

I like your videos very much, I have one question for you. In your videos, you say "we" a lot, do you have a partner who travels with you?
Why was this so blurry? I made I was watching at top quality
San Francisco is all about public transportation. Forget Uber, take the buses and trolleys. You will spend $2
Baker Beach is not really a nude beach. It's a large, clothing optional, beach. There isn't a "nude section" of the beach. It's all one beach.
Nude beach in Maui is much better
