    Barriss had become disillusioned with the Jedi, they were supposed to be keepers of the peace not soldiers. Ahsoka left due to no one but Anakin believed in her, she felt as the Jedi had turned their back on her. Anakin believed Ahsoka was innocent and investigated finding Barriss

      I'm still fascinated to know who he is, what level of Jedi he had attained, what motivates him now, and how he ended up losing one of his arms (Vader had something to do with it, I believe). I want that partially burned hawk mask, and that mechanical arm to be stolen and worn by one of the major Acolytes Of The Beyond, with them being influenced by the darkness emanating from both vestiges of that felled Inquisitor. We need to see that look in live-action.

    Yet another good reaction, Sonny & Major Dad. From watching these 3 Barriss Offee shorts, I strongly believe that this is setting up a brand new Star Wars: The Hidden Path Animated series, featuring the efforts of the likes of Asajj Ventress, Quinlan Vos, Jedi Master Kelleran Beq (w/ Grogu), Jedi Master Cordova, along w/ Cere Junda and Ahsoka Tano (eventually), and others (including Barriss Offee and Lyn Rakish); juxtaposed with the evil deeds or The Inquisitorius and The Empire, along with the creation of The Church Of The Force (which was a George Lucas idea for his unmade, Star Wars: Underworld ABC-TV live-action series). I wouldn't be surprised, if 14-year-old Omega and her younger-older Brothers end up playing roles in the action, on occasion. Hopefully, it will happen. May The Force Be With You Two.

    Its ok Major Dad, I appreciated your musical interlude.
    With the friend mentioned at the end, theres a few contenders and Ashoka seems the obvious one... But I wonder if someone like Cere Junda, and The Hidden Path might be where Bariss would send a force sensative kid.
    These three tell us such a great story and gets to showcase the big advances they have made on animation technology, every shot is just so beautiful.

    Great commentary, gents. I liked both stories, but the Barriss story resonated much more with me: not only because we’ve known her longer, but I think her story is more complex and compelling. And in particular, I really like how it portrayed the Inquistorius through her and Lyn’s actions. It was a tragedy. I see them now not as mindlessly evil, but slaves forced to make a Faustian bargain. I love stories where people aren’t one dimensional caricatures, and this short story not only fleshed out Barriss and gave her even more complexity and realism, but also the inquisitors themselves.

  • @benjaminportilla9297

    I loved these episodes. I really liked that the specific uses of the dark side we see her use here were actually the ones we saw Anakin using against her to defeat her in their fight in CW S5.
    I just went and re-watched the last episode, and I'm not convinced the animators meant for us to think Barriss had stopped breathing by the end. I think they meant for it to be ambiguous.
    Either way, I loved her arc all the way through, from Padawan to disillusioned and convicted terrorist to Inquisitor, and finally to "Wise Mother" the light-side Jedi healer. I'm glad we finally got to see what became of her. Like a darker parallel to Ahsoka, it turns out she fell from the Jedi Order just to eventually become what the Jedi were meant to be.

  • @G1Transformed
    @G1Transformed Месяц назад +2

    31:16 I don't think Barriss died for the fact that Lyn told her that she was going to get her out of the cave. Was Barriss stabbed in a vital spot? I'd argue that she was stabbed in an area that is survivable if given medical attention. We've seen Sabine, Reva, and the Inquisitor survive a lightsaber stabbing. How did they do they survive something Qui-Gon couldn't? I'd argue that they survived because they didn't have their spine and peripheral nervous system severed as Qui-Gon did--we can live without a stomach, one kidney, one lung, etc, but can we live without a nervous system? The nervous system is what the brain uses to tell the body what to do. Unfortunately for Qui-Gon, Maul cut Qui-Gon's in two. Qui-Gon's injury was instantly cauterized given that he was surrounded by a puddle of his own blood, but that was the least of his problems; his brain had lost the ability to tell the body where to send blood below the damaged area. Brain cells start to die after five minutes of Oxygen loss and heart cells die at around two hours. I'm not sure about other vital organs, but I think it's safe to say that they are somewhere around those times. If blood isn't circulating throughout the body, important tissues will start to die off as well. I think that's what happened to Qui-Gon. His death must have been slow and very painful, but as he appeared to give himself to the Force, it might not have been as bad as one would imagine.
    Lyn showed us that a Force sensitive being can survive a fall from great heights. Maybe Mace Windu does in fact live.

To me Barriss Offee episodes 2 & 3 were NOT Tales of the Empire.
