Must say you built a solid car. It’s held up to all the track days I’ve seen with no breaks that I’ve seen. You need some straight cut gears for that awesome whine we hear in road cars.,
Thanks Colossal. It's going pretty well, occasionally have small niggles, but nothing catastrophic (yet). I'd love to look at a transmission upgrade option, but there's nothing in my budget so I am stuck with the standard 6spd for now.
@@colossalbigfoot256 I'm not aware of any off the shelf straight cut gears for the MX-5 transmissions, I'd probably be better investing the money in a stronger transmission overall anyway.
Looking great Brendan! Car seems really hooked up. Looks like this was from a couple of years ago. Hope to see you back on track soon with your new upgrades!
@@noceilingsmotorsports But still you're asking for handling advice. So the expensive spindles are maybe not run of the mill eBay items, but did you gain anything over the drop?
I just checked fastestlaps site for that circuit and Sub 1:30 is faster than newest, fastest super cars with over 600 hp xD That's absurd to be honest, and you're making.. what? 250hp at the wheels?
OMP HTE-R 400, its fairly nice, though I run without the bottom padding for extra headroom, and it just fits in the car with the cage. A little loose for my liking perhaps, but i'm not a fat fella.
hey beavis! ive got a 2001 mx5 NB and its giving me issues, When foot to the floor and i get to about 5k to 5.5k rpms the engine deliveres no power even though is foot to the floor, it then drops 300rpms or so (foot is to the floor still) and goes back up 300rpms and starts jerking the car, ive changed cam angle sensor, spark plugs and fuel filter, none of these have fixed the issue, cheers!
@@Bbeavis great temps for specific output. My stock Focus RS hit 135+ C (according to stock gauge) oil temp both times I tracked it. Happened about 15 minutes in and not particularly hot days for Texas. I’d say about 90F / 32C.
That's terrifyingly awesome
Haha, thanks Cameron :-)
Eesh... That concrete wall sticking out like that after the main straight...
Just one kiss and it's all scrap right after...
Seen a few cars hit a few different walls at this track over the years. :-O
Nice session!
Thanks!!

@@Bbeavis can’t you upgrade helical cut to straight? Just the gears? I did it back in the day with my Corrado. I’m racing vicariously through you 😆

Awesome... im itching to get on track..
Go for it!
Sounds like she was running like a top! Looks like a ton of fun, great driving as always!
Thanks 👍

Yeah this is one I had from a year and a bit ago that I finally got the time to edit and upload. Thank you.
Do you have drop knuckles? Why does that thing turn in soo sharp and aggressively😳🔥
Hey, nope in this video the suspension arms/hubs etc are all oem. Perhaps its just the alignment setup, grippy tyres, and aero?
@@Bbeavis In other words; no (run of the mill eBay) aftermarket crap.
@@Paul_VanGo www.zerekfab.com/product/miata-front-drop-knuckles definitely run of the mill ebay crap🥴

Yeah this car is near 300hp at the wheels.
What seat do you use? Do you like it?

@@Bbeavis shes all fixed up now! it started having problems 1 Week after i got my P's ahaha, have had the car for 1 year now good fun

Do you ever have issues with oil or coolant temperatures? If so, how long can you run it at speed before needing a cool down?
Coolant temps sit at around 85degC. Oil temps around 115-120degC. So the engine doesn't need cooling down. Brakes however, that's another story.

what camera set up are you using for the front view, some sort of gimble?
Go Pro Hero 7, I think its the 'stabilisation' of the camera being a bit weird.
Sounds great! Good consistent driving, no drama. What tires are you running?
