I used to hang around the old site in the late 70s and early 80s. Skinheads and punks used to sniff glue down there and all sorts of drop outs and junkies would use it... Was a nasty stinky place. But, it was wonderful to see as a young man. I had a lot of passion for the old crystal palace and walked around the site many times.

There's a smidge of misinformation at the start. The Great Exhibition of 1851 took place in Hyde Park in the temporary building that was quickly dubbed 'The Crystal Palace'. After the exhibition closed the building was dismantled and reconstructed in the Sydenham area, but the exhibition itself didn't follow. The subway wasn't built and used to attend the exhibition, just to gain access to the building which previously housed it.

It will be nice to reopen Cristal Palace tube Station, We will spend less time commuting towards Victoria Station which is already so crowded! It will be a great economical opportunity for Cristal Palace to increase its development, also beneficial for the youth. We don't need a space event, we need to commute properly to go to work! Thank you. Best Wishes. DDB.

Market stalls selling local produce only and they have to prove they are paying their taxes in order to get a stall, and not be owned by any larger corporate interests. All stalls pay rent to be there which pays for up keep and any further profits go to local charities. Utopia I guess.
