A quick tip for you from Kevin Hill's excellent channel - don't use paper towels, get yourself those blue auto-mechanic shop towels instead, a roll of them is not very expensive and they won't leave any paper flecks in your paint! Great painting, wonderful tutorial!

Thank you for the comment. I wanted to make the sun really bright, so I used masking tape to cover the canvas while I applied the base coat of color/ conditioned the canvas. This allowed us to have a pristine surface for the sun and keep it round and even! I usually work freehand, but I wanted to ensure the sun shape, and hopefully make the process easier for those who are just starting their painting journey. You do not have to use them but you are welcome to!
How I made the cutouts? I took a shape I liked then traced it to a piece of paper. I then laid out the tape on the counter sticky side down to trace the circle on to it. I cut the tape with an exacto knife, then removed the circle from the counter and applied it to my canvas.
If I were to use this technique again on a canvas, would it be helpful for me to include the talking points about the stencil?
Please let me know if that would help you for the future, and I can find a way to work that in, or make a short to explain it as well.
Thank you so much for your comment and interest in my channel. I love being able to interact with you all in this space, and I really appreciate your view and comment =]

You have good fundamentals and understanding of colors, good blending techniques (ala Bob Ross), concept selection good but composition is very weak…I recommend revisiting Ross videos…

Great opinions. I believe the composition on this painting is pretty awesome. Considering I didn't sketch it on to the canvas and I did it all in one sitting.
