Wow What A Awesome New Addition Concept For Top Thrill Dragster. Very Very Impressive. Definitely 👍 worthy of the title of Best, Highest Ect 🤷♂️👍You Deserve It. Way to go Cedar Point! Bravo 👏
This is the best simulation, yet. Personally, i think it reinforces what I've always thought: If they do a spike, they're not going to stick a bunny hill in between to potentially slow momentum (or make it vary under windy conditions), as cool as it would be. But, it think a hill on the end run is feasible and possible. This video does do a great job of making the spike/top hat remodel seem very, very plausible.
Fun Fact: That's what my The Black Hole TIme Machine ride back in 2012 was going to plan. It would be racing Top Thrill Dragster train up 420 feet tall, go down but steer off into a large indoor area, where it'll go through twists and turns similar to Disaster Transport. From there it zooms through the whole park, then stop at a certain area, where a 300/400 foot loop, launching people nearly 200 miles per hour, just to make it over the loop. From there, the ride continues towards the structure near the Cedar Point Entrance, going up nearly 500/600 feet tall and wide. And then come back down one more time, going through a smooth hillride in slightly going upward and slightly going downward, before it stops near the station. That was the original ride idea I had in mind back in 2011. Unfortunately, due to how expensive it may be, not to mention they may not be able to build the track pieces on water, nor near the entrance of the park, plus having ten different coaster trains for the ride, it would have been a maintenance headache and a nightmare to operate. Therefore, it would have cost Cedar Point 1.5 billion dollars to even make the 700 feet long track, made out of steel and such....So there's that. What you mention was something I thought of a decade ago.
That shot at the end looking up at the name and the spike is great. I think a spike would make for a fun ride- just hope they don’t try to claim a height record with a spike.
This is what I hope the new Dragster will be, but I don't see them making a triple-launching swing launch due to capacity issues. I think it might be just backwards up a 200-300 foot spike then up the top hat with a possibility of a layout extension before the launch.
Hello man 👋🏻. I understand that it looks a bit weird! That is because the speed in nolimits 2 is a bit unrealistic. In real life, it will be closer to the good old way of how it takes the tophat 😊
Yeah, it does appear visually to be going pretty fast in the animation but in reality, you are only getting between -0.10 and -0.70 G’s on the tophat, which is well within reason for a coaster like this. Kind Regards, Dustin
@@Escape_Designs ah makes sense those forces are definitely reasonable. I think in reality if it went over that quickly visually itd probably pull more but a computer is never going to get the animation perfectly. Fantastic design all around.
one thing idk why im concern with is if cedar point really build a spike 500+ feet tall and claim it as the tallest coaster, that will go against cedar fair’s logic on calling what is a actual “tallest coaster”
The standing brake run supports after the top hat started being painted a dark grey/titanium color today. Unfortunately it looks like there won't be an airtime hill in that section. Hopefully there's still going to be one as a part of the launch side
Is it possible to upload a back seat POV? No problems if you can't but just thought I'd ask as I'd love to see the reverse spike at its best. I really think if they multi launch it like this, that the very back seat will be the best spot to ride, as long as they also nail the speed over the top hat so you get good airtime on the way down in the back. That will be killer. I actually think, IF they stick to lap bars (I have no idea if they are or not), and there's a 400FT back spike, it will be terrifying, particularly at the very back of the train. It has to be vertical. The back spike on those Impulse coasters that have a non twisted straight one, and especially with a brake hold, are great, and we are talking over twice as tall as the back spike on those with TTD. This could be a truly incredible coaster if Cedar Fair go all out. They should really, since the little cheap mouse is just a filler coaster, and their last major coaster was 2018. They should take it to the point where TTD is considered a completely new coaster. And I even think they should add another in 2025. It's been 5 years FFS since SV and 6 years by the time this is ready!
Love the idea and overall concept. Really like that you guessed at the logo, and even the placement of the queue line! Nice to visualize what seems to be a highly-likely possibility. If a reverse spike is to be - this is exactly what I hope they do. I do worry about capacity though. I think the estimate of 1200 pph is optimistic. I suppose it is doable if you have an efficient crew - and probably a minimum of 3-4 trains, 36 riders per.
Awesome simulation but I don’t think they would launch you that hard in reverse unless they have a head harness. I could see it getting launched up the top hat but probably not that high to ensure it doesn’t go over. Should be interesting. It could naturally go up the spike in reverse then catch a chain to pull it back and then let go at the top.
If this is what CP is going for then I do hope that it is exactly as shown here and not a rollback halfway up and again not reaching its highest point on the spike. If they want the height record the whole train should make it over that particular height not just the last car or like in MM case not at all.
Wonder if Ohio had/has the same rules as New Jersey... About running rides at the same time... They could put a drop tower on the spike and have the highest drop tower too.....

I just want to point something out that I spotted in this video. I'm not sure if you were saying the top hat was gonna be over or exactly 500 feet or if it remains the same as it is now, but. If it was 500 feet, how exactly do you plan on getting over going to speed of 120 when that's what they needed to clear the 420 foot top hat there would be an extra 80 feet to clear and I don't think that would be possible going 120 and what the first launch of 110 we wouldn't be going anywhere near the top hat if it was 500 feet
Hello Degausserre! The capacity should not be impacted because the trains can keep dispatching. If a coaster is on the main launch, there can be another train waiting before the transfer. Thanks for your comment! Regards, Brannan Ritch
Couple things. This is awesome, But every concept video the first launch goes almost over... That defeats the whole purpose of needing the back spike to help it reach speed.... A more realistic version would have the car only making it halfway up, then launching up the back spike, and then making it over on the second ascend. The Other thing that would be nice, is if the next train that's waiting, could leave the station and wait just before the transfer track.... once the first train gets fully over the hill, the 2nd train and start moving over...
