  • In this video, I'll share my story about how my mistake led me to gold. I'll show you how you can make the same mistake and find your own hidden treasures, if you're willing to put in the time with a metal detector.
I ignored the signals that the beach was giving me and moved away from the most logical treasure spot but it ended up with some gold in my pocket. You'll want to watch this video. You will learn a bit about beach metal detecting and you will see some treasure pulled from the sand.

The little pouch you showed at the beginning made me chuckle. 😀. Back in the old days I used a Whites Eagle Spectrum and my mam made me a cover out of leather to cover the big square box. 🙂. I then purchased a Minelab Explorer II 🤗😍 and my mam altered that square cover by attaching 3 loops to it and I now use it as a finds pouch in the fields. 😀.

As an Aussie, bagels are not such a thing. Like they are there but not a big deal. But every one i have tasted has been tough and not really a good mouth experience. Whilst Su can mean made in Italy, if it is followed by CH and the SU is capitalised then the SU means “Silver Unlimited” which is another way of marking 92.5% or “Sterling” silver. The CH is Spanish “Chapa” meaning it’s plated. And the CZ of course stands for good ol cubic zirconia. So basically that ring is 925 silver plated and the stones are cubic zirconias.

Good Luck! I have a few on the Simplex for the beach. Amazing detector, but it is far behind the SMF and pulse beach machines. That doesn't mean that you wont get anything. The dry has been really good to me this summer. The Zero ground balance thing will only go so far. You can get some obvious signals in the wet. Im not trying to discourage you. Im just sharing my honest opinion. Its a heck of a detector in non salt environments.

Thanks for sharing more of your knowledge in this video!
I remember many, many years ago, I'd visit a beach and see these guys hunting in waste-deep water. Years later, i got a suitable machine for full control box submersion, and set off to do exactly what they were doing. However, their strategy has never worked for me. These freshwater swimming beaches may as well have 10 ft of sand-covered bottom, as I can't even get a signal. I know those old-timer detectorists were not amateurs and I recall reading a great deal on how to metal detect beaches, and it was quite common for enthusiasts to swing their machines in the water, rather than scanning the water's edge at low tide. What am I missing here?
How do people find rings in waiste-deep water, when I can't even get a signal due to the depth of the sand? My only guess is that those guys swinging detectors in the waiste-deep water must be feeling around for the "cuts" or low channels created by wave action...or maybe they had located a clay bottom zone or something?
I have access to a freshwater beach that literally doesnt get any deeper than waiste-deep until you wade out to more than 150 ft from shore, but what's the point in detecting all of that shallow water when I can't get a signal?
    What are your thoughts, friend?
