I have to say I am the new proud owner of this fine vehicle and am loving it, has since had the CDV delete and fresh gearbox oil shifts even better now, new backbox and SSK on way.
i’ve got a 130i myself. one of the best things i’ve done to it was the back box delete. It’s still 100% legal as the cat and resonator are still intact, but you get a real nice raw sound out of it. Not obnoxiously loud at all, you also get heaps of little gurgles and crackles if you put it in sports mode.
@@KiwiCarLife I think still having the resonator helps get rid of that? I haven’t experienced any droning i don’t think, and it’s real fun to just drive around even in regular drive mode. Next time you’re in Auckland for any reason (hopefully not a broken trans again haha), you can take it for a quick drive if you wanna see
@@KiwiCarLife Yeah, the lifespan of diamond cut wheels in the UK is about 1 year or 2 years before the rot starts to set in. I miss that Hamilton New zealand weather.
love it, I've been looking high and low for a boot spoer like that. do you know where your mate got it from? what's the tyre and wheel specs that you upgraded too? still staggered? are they from.the z3?
Own an E92, as much as I love german engineering and build quality. These cars do come with a higher cost of ownership overall and finding a mechanic that actually knows how to work on the electrical side of these cars is very difficult in smaller parts of NZ and you end up spending a lot of money in parts and labour. Which is why i decide to do most things myself but hey its worth it in the end i guess. I daily drive mine and its nice knowing other cars on the road are just plain inferior to mine in terms of handling, comfort and feel and I think that's why people are so envious and trash talk BMW owners.
It depends on what model you get. I've had no issues at all with my BMW's. A lot of the "reliability issues" are just because someone's uncle or friend owned one and it was a nightmare, but if you buy an n/a I6 BMW and have some understanding of how to look after a car and where to buy parts from, they should be no less reliable than any normal car.
@KiwiCarLife That's true, usually the stereotypes do stem from people who buy a neglected 20+ year old E46 or a thrashed out 335i and wonder why it always breaks down. It's more so the fact at how much a mechanic will overcharge you when it comes to a repair for one of these 😂
Sweet as mate. You will have to redo all the bushes soon. Mine went @ 57k km, my mates used to thrash it around. They always put a smile on your face though. Also test the engine mounts for wear. The rubbers take a pounding especially when cornering at high speeds. If your old tyres went out on the outer halves, just check the bushes for wear. My 320d I drove myself. With 72k km. The brake pads had more than half life on them. They changed it anyway. 😂
Would love your opinion on the latest F20 LCI compared to your 130i. In Europe, your 130i without 200.000km would be the same price as a very good shape 120i LCI Msport or even a 125i. Kinda shocking how high they cost now. Let's not even talk 135/140i F20 Also, really enjoy your content, straight to the point and well done.
In my experience, the EPS is still decent. And it's possible to get an LCI still with HPS, mine is a 2007 so one of the first LCI's and it still has HPS
nooooo I wanted to know where I could find a spoiler too :(, also saw this dent removal guy driving around too I was gonna give him a buzz then I saw this haha
My experience with tyres that aren't a well known brand like Bridgestone, Michelin etc, are absolute garbage these days. Just bordering on dangerous. I had a set of b-brand winter tyres that I bought from someone, and my Bridgestone Potenza's bad more grip in the snow/wet. And I have a loaner now, because ofcourse even my new civic broke down (i have epic bad luck as i said before), and its on b-brand all-seasons. Even at 20mph it skids the tyres on a hard stop. Hence decent a-brand sport tyres are the BEST performance upgrade you can give your car. Bar none.
Suddenly, this channel has drifted away from hondas and now into bmws. Dont get me wrong, this type of content is still good, but please somehow keep the honda content alive. Remember, that's where a bunch of your subscribers came from in the first place. Maybe get another honda as a track car instead of the M3 🙏🤷♀️🤷♀️
I’ve moved on from Hondas. They’re great starter cars and my first 7 cars I owned were Hondas. But now I want something nicer and faster. Honda just doesn’t offer anything that really interests me anymore
@@KiwiCarLife its not your problem Kiwi, its ours, really.. its like Honda fans are a sect, and whoever moves on from Honda to something else - blasphemy. Your problem is that you gained most of your subsribers by your Honda content, and right now you serve to those people something that you personally like, which they dont. So dont be suprised for bad feedback. Worst thing would be now acting that you actually like Honda just because of subsribers. Sincerity is the what makes you special, so keep up with it.
@@GandhiBeatz I'm really torn atm. Hondas are just so overpriced atm, there's literally not a single one I want. The 130i was a do everything car that I genuinely would have been happy to keep was it not for this M3 opportunity. Because I have very specific requirements for a car there's not much else I'd consider. And I don't want to do another build because I want to save for a wedding and house. Maybe it's time I retire the personal car KiwiCarLife content and just make car reviews of other people's cars. Then it doesn't matter what I drive
as much as i dont care for bmws (or small hatchbacks for that matter) i can still say i enjoyed the videos on this car.
Well that's good to hear
Your personal cars always end up presented so well, tasteful mods without over doing it

I agree about the pirelli tyres I’ve got the same power energy ones and are great
Yeah I’ve been happy with them!
313 alloys. The best ever made IMHO. Really rare here in the Uk but complete the car brilliantly. Awesome video on an awesome car once again 🙂👌🏻
Thanks man! Yeah I love the look
I had those 313 Speedline alloys on my 123d. The weather in England meant that they started to corrode so went back to the 208m style.

The LED angel eyes was it just a case of changing the bulb?
