When my daughter was little, she asked me so politely if she could get a cookie. I told her yes. The next thing I heard was glass breaking. She had dropped the lid. and broke the tip of his ear. She cried so hard. I told her it was ok, and that we would fix him after she ate her cookie. I know it is not worth anything today in retail. But it means everything to me. My daughter is now 51, and that cookie jar holds its place of honor on my kitchen Counter,..

I used to own a 4,000 square ft. Mediterranean home, my pool was huge; my water bill was over $200.00 a month just for the pool alone. To heat it in the winter, $400.00 per month. Plus I hired 2 different pool cleaning companies, 1 to clean it and the 2nd one to maintain the other issues. My home had 4 full bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, a den, a private office, a second office ( I used for blue prints, maps, and storing paintings, also my Art supplies and craft items. A huge laundry room, the private office had its own entrance and wrought iron security entrance, ( entire front of property. Matching wrought iron enclosed it. ) the pool was secured also with 7 foot iron gates. Block walled all around the rest of the property. The sunken living room had three steps, an attached one car garage, behind the front double gated, was a huge black topped area my teenager and 3 of my grandchildren rode bikes and their skate boards where they enjoyed them. At the back of that area was my huge 4 car garage, plus room for all of the families 10 speeds, and kids bikes. I rented space out to my Daughter's Doctor Father-in-law, for all of his extra office room furniture. He appreciated it. I had intercom from my office, to reach all of the other rooms. House had entertainment system speaker system throughout. I had an extra 1,000 square foot Arizona room, so much glass, house was bright, with skylight in the Chef's kitchen. A large separate dining room, wall to wall Oak
Built in entertainment cabinets and open book cases and open space for my art pieces, pottery created by My late husband who was an artist who worked all genre of Art. There was a floor to ceiling stone fire place. Window seats in the livingroom, which looked out onto the swimming pool, I had plantation shutters. Covering those windows .
I miss my home. I had a circular driveway. I agree I don't miss the pool upkeep!

It had other perks as well Mediterranean tile from the front security gate into the security gated foyer. The house was on a half acre. Two extra patios, one the entire length of the side of the house, open aired, with a built in Brick barbecue. In the Arizona room I had a built-in electric (tiled) stove set up. I had all 4 of the bathrooms re-tiled, each of those rooms were a different color. My family misses our home. And of course the pool with the diving board. Alas, nothing lasts forever, I also miss those smaller palm trees I can't recall the name but the fronds were softer than any of the other varieties of those huge varieties, someone reading this must know what the species is. There were 5 on each side of the tiled sidewalk, tallest were only 6 feet. It was really refreshing a veritable canopy. I am 75 years old I love to be able to have these images float through my memory bank; I purchased my home a few months after his passing.
I was the 2nd owner. My husband could not be convinced to check it out. So it was still on the market, 5 months after his passing; I looked at my Realtor and exclaimed SOLD! Yes please, as Danni always says. The owners were elderly and both passed away the previous December. Within 2 hours of each other. I noticed the burgundy/maroon late model Chrysler or Lincoln in the one car garage, I had queried, if the vehicle would be included in the deal, the Couple's Son, replied, sure, absolutely, as long as you make the payments
