    Mam, I understood all except the example #4 and #5. I'm confused with the bond lengthening concept explanation. If an alkyl group has e- withdrawing group such as F or CN, back bonding between metal and ligand should be least, no? Bc the E.W.G will lessen +I effective of the alkyl group, lessening the e- donating ability of the ligand to metal...if e- donating from ligand isn't great, then pi back bonding from metal would not be great. In example 7 you mention that, F is EWG so pi backhanding is less, therefore v(CO) is greater....Did I miss something in the video? I am studying for my MSc...My American professor does not explain well. I use your video for understanding my lesson so thank you so much

    In question no. 4 more the donar ability more Will b back Bonding ,and metal ligand Bond Will be shorter and c_c bond will be longer hence A should be the answer. Please clear my doubt mam

    In ques 4, in molecule b thr r 4 CN (E.W.G) groups so e- density of Alkene will be reduced or we can say tht molecule a is better donar thn molecule b so metal carbon bond will be stronger in case of molecule a and so c-c bond length will be higher in a bcz of gud donor ability of a. But as u said tht in back bonding 4 CN group will pull the e crowd much better frm metal thn a bcz of its EW effect, so in tht case c-c bond length will be more in b.
    Till hr everythg is clear to me but in ques no 7 we are giving more importance to donor ability of phosphine rather than no of EWG present on phosphine. So I'm bit confused btw ques no 4 n 7 tht whn to give importance to donor ability or whn to EWGs.

      See there is difference in ligands of ques 4 and 7 in ques no. 4 jaha se donation ho ra hai vahi par back donation ho ra hai, ( Pi of C-C se donation, pi* of C-C mei acceptance) but in 7th que phosphine ligands ki hmm sirf donor ability dekh re hn acceptance tou pi* of CO mei ho ra hai... Tou according to me maybe is liye que 4 mei ewg factor ko importance di whereas in que 7 mei ligand donating factor ko

    But mam when we are solving question of olefins we say that because of CN groups electrons are easily pulled and thus v(CO) decreases but when are solving question no. 7 we say that because of presence of electron withdrawing group ligand is not able to donate properly or strongly and thus v(CO) is maximum.plz solve the confusion

    Ma'am in this video u say all ligands are sigma donar....but ma'am in different medium these ligands shows different donar ability.....some shows pi -donar, pi-acceptor, or sigma donar

    mam by back bonding metal and ligand bond become stronger and also stretching frequency increase..but the stretching frequency of c-o decrease, bcz the legthning in c-o...so i bit confuse when u are saying back bonding increase and stretching frequency decrease....but your leacture is awesome...im confuse in question no. 7..if possible reply mam.

    Ma'am you gave two examples for finding Freq (CO) . One having EWG, one with EDG. how come both have the same effect of increasing the back bonding??

      No whatever I've written is right.
      Answer will be a >b > c> d only
      Back bonding is greater in B than A ....so C-O bond will be weaker comparatively and hence low stretching frequency
