@@crazyleaf257 good luck on that lol It’s incredibly health-giving No way is that happening Seek it out in ur state/locale. It’s worth the effort! I knew a lady who made a 2 hr round trip once a month to pick up gallons of milk that she then cultured, and made butter & cheese with for her family. She picked up some for another family who paid her gas $. It was a state where it was sold as pet food 🙄
One of the best lessons for your daughters is to teach them how to sew. I'm old now. My Mom is gone. BUT ever stitch and every project I'm so grateful she taught me how to make clothes for myself out of found fabrics. We harvested buttons, zippers, waist bands, from old 50-60s era skirts and made up to date 60-70s clothes and latter quits, curtains, etc. I still have Moms button stash. It is good to teach them.
We have a creek running thru our homestead, we love it. We've lived here for 33 years and our old farmhouse was built in 1885, we've been so blessed, happy for you.
We have a creek that's running through the middle. Love it at certain times but definitely not when there is a lot of rain and then the inevitable flooding that happens. There have been times where the only thing that didn't get flooded was the house and everything else was covered all the way to the walls of the house. It's just frustrating when all your veggies in the garden are ruined and you have no harvest or barely any harvest that year, and all of the clean up of course. It often leaves a lot of sand behind.
@@EmmaHope88 That would be hard. The pioneers who homesteaded and built our farmhouse, built it high on the hill, the road to our home floods, but never any danger of the house, garden, etc. flooding. Blessings.
Lisa, I hope tomorrow (Mothers Day) you will allow yourself to “take a day off” & relax & let your kids & hubby pamper you all day!!! You deserve it queen!!!
I grew up on a farm that had a creek. It was the BEST for us as kids. On hot days, we'd go swimming 3-4x a day, then return to whatever tasks were at hand. You and your husband are years ahead of us financially l, but your story gives me hope and inspiration to keep working toward our goals (one of which has also been a property with a creek where our kids can play). ❤
Congratulations on your new property! We live on six and half acres and along the entire length of the property there is a salmon bearing creek. It's such an amazing place to raise kids. It took us awhile to get here (three houses bought and fixed up or built and sold) but it's so worth it. We have our favorite spots all along the creek with a swing, swimming hole, and a good fishing spot. I am so thankful the Lord gave us this place- being surrounded by the beauty or His creation and order is incredible.💓
Your daughter did great work on the sewing!! I started sewing at 8. By the time I was 18 I was making wedding dresses. I also learned to make my own jeans and underwear. When I got to college I used sewing as a side job to earn a little extra money. It's a great skill to have. When my kids were older and I had more time I taught sewing lessons at an adult education center. It's a dying art. So great to see it being passed on!!
I bought a Fry Daddy and hated it because it splatters so much. I went back to the saucepan and it is so much easier to clean up and does the job just as well. Fry Daddy is sitting in my cupboard full of old oil so I will just likely throw it out. Lesson learned!
This video felt different and fresh, i thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved all of the raw sound in the kitchen and nature that was kept aswell. Great content as always ❤
Thank you sweet Ruthie for the beautiful little dresses. Ellie Pearl and Evie Lou love them and have been wearing them a lot. You are so talented! It was good to see you guys again.
Love your dresses. Congrats to Ruthie on her beautiful sewing. Also congrats on your property. So thankful y’all are doing well since recent storms in MO. God bless your precious family! 😀❤️🙏🏻
We have a tiny creek behind our house and a small river out front about a football field's length away. Lots of medicinal plant grow near them and LOTS of salmon in the fall! I love your kitchen You have the same style sink I had in my conch house I had when I was 18. I live in the PNW now, at 70.
This video reminds me of why I watch and how I got to my own little piece of heaven. Doing well get to a bigger prop but our little 4 acre hobby farm is finally my “Little House on the Prarie” dream come true. And my determination to continue doing all I can while I can in and out of the kitchen and with my kiddos is all because of other women like yourself. ❤
I’m a new subscriber and I’m in awe of all that you do. Watching your daughter so brings back so many memories. I haven’t sewed in so many years. But I always have my sewing machine ready for repairs or help for somebody else. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Take care, stay safe.
Happy early Mother's Day! I am always impressed watching you sew, and seeing your young daughter sew with such perfect, amazing skill is awesome! I rarely sew becasue I'm not good at it. Perhaps I'm just too impatient? I always enjoy your videos and seeing snippets of your family life. Congrats on the new peoperty! The stream is wonderful! So are we going to see videos of you planning a new homestead on the new property??? Very exciting. We have looked for a property just to enjoy time at away from home, but no luck yet…. Your boys are adorable - love how excited they were to swim in your new creek!!!! Children should play outdoors, too many don’t these days!
This is by far my favorite homemaking channel. This young mother knows everything my mother taught me. I am 70. My parents lived through the Depression.

I would love to hear an interview with your parents.. Even if they don't want to be on camera I would love to hear their advice..My children are your age but I think they could really guide young parents.
I'm impressed at your ability to slice fresh bread with such uniformity. I started using a griddle on my stove top and smashed the ground beef or pork into one large square. Once the meat set, I cut squares that were sandwich bread size and then flipped each square to finish. This helped me with the meat ball shaped burgers that I always ended up with by making patties.
I have never heard of egg tacos but it sounds amazing. Looks good too. I am like you with wanting things clean in between meals and such. I will clean dishes while I cook depending on if it is ready to be cleaned or not. Cute ThredUp items. Never underestimate the outrageous joy women feel when their dress has pockets😂😂😂
Oh for sure !! Haha ! I haven't even watched the video yet but this comment made me laugh😅
For years I thought I was the only person to get overly excited about pockets on a dress but after social media, I realize it's a universal joy.
TRUTH!!!!!
And men say we're complicated creatures....😉😅😆😂😂😂
It's true! All dresses should have pockets.
