Just after I lost hope of finding a lightweight and fast tool, it's AMAZING, and the option to assign keyboard shortcuts makes the experience 10 times better. Thank you for the video!
This should be very useful. I was using the Xbox Game Bar for clips (pretty low quality) and the photos app was able to easily trim those videos. However now that I am using replay buffer with OBS those files just get stuck loading forever after I try to save a trim. Pretty frustrating! Glad to find another fairly simple trimming tool.
In practice though, this programme has many issues. For example, it shows "Warning: Cutting thumbnail tracks is known to cause problems. Consider disabling track 3." I have no idea what this means, as it doesn't tell me. And in addition, the outputted file doesn't play-back correctly, and is corrupted. I wish it was indeed as simple as you show it to be.
Thanks a lot! What are the shortcuts you're pressing when cutting out multiple scenes from 0:30? Those keys would help my process tremendously. Thanks again!!!
G'day Cam! im an absolute no hoper when it comes to understanding how things work when editing video's, using windows and power director trim, ive found that the gig's increase rather than decrease, am i misunderstanding something ?.. or am i as dumb as i think i am. Cheers Mate!
G'Day Wayne! If the file size is going up it means that the settings Power Director is using to re-encode the file are at a higher quality, or lower compression amount than the original file was. This is why programs like Lossless Cut in this video are so special, as they are guaranteed to reduce file size. If you're unable to adjust the bitrate, or compression amounts in Power Director, you could then compress the file with "Handbrake", it's a free file converter/compression software tool.
@@camshand G'day Cam! I have used handbrake and it compressed quite well, what im trying to do is remove any unwanted segments altogether, erasing them completely. to cut and splice, prior to any other editing and producing, Ill have a proper look at Lossless cut, it sounds like what i need. Thanks Mate, Cheers!
My first video editing tool as a beginner is Window maker. Now I'm using Clip champ for windows 11. Is this the same as clip champ video editor? Cheers
I use Davinci Resolve to edit my videos. this is a tool to trim clips, so if I forget to hit stop on a screen recording and it's 2 hours long, I'll run it through this. Same if I just need to post a segment from a longer video. Very Handy to have
That one looks interesting Darren, especially the added functionality of filters! But does it copy the data into a new file or re-render? can't see on it's product page about being lossless.
@@camshand It has what is called a copy mode and a process mode, copy mode is super fast doesn't have to re-render but is limited by keyframe position. I assume any kind of filter usage will mean it has to use process mode. I haven't used it for a couple of years though, I have davinci resolve installed now and make such few video clips that I don't mind waiting for them to be re-rendered.
i lvoe you so much man ive been trying to look for a tutorial thatys hwo sme how to make my 1 hour video into a 10 min video bro i love you i subscribe and like
Dont use for seperating multi-episode cartoon files. i seperated a few episodes of a cartoon to store on my Plex Server without a problem, after i decided to do the whole series, i noticed that 98% of the second half of the files(essentially all of the Episode 2's) had between 5-7 seconds of episode 1 rolled over to episode 2.
That roll-over will depend on the keyframe placements of the video compression. The White lines along the timeline in LosslessCut will show you where the real end of the video will be after you do the export. For cartoons, it makes sense they'd have a long gap between keyframes as there's not a lot of data changing on screen.
when i tried to export the file, i have all the settings just like you, but it keeps saying that it cannot export it, tell me to do a bunch of things, but it never worked. i don't know what to do anymore
Thanks bro❤❤ It did the job okayish. But a little feedback. It is not at all accurate especially on non-mp4 formats. I had to convert my vid to mp4 and even then it was not fully accurate and displayed flashes of pre-cut frames for 7-8 seconds overlapped on the main video. Please improve this
I wish dude! My BRAW clips are enormous if I forget to hit stop 😅 But unfortunately no, only works with common compressed video file formats. It does work incredibly well for all intra footage though given that's all keyframes in a .mov file container.
Its very unknown though! I've been using it for about 2 years, but I'm sure users of ffmpeg have had many custom methods via command line far before that. It is a very impressive tool though and that's why I wanted to share it 😄🤙
Way way way too fast. The first example is so fast there's no way he selected an accurate start and end time for his export. 2nd example he just chose three random areas - the resulting video would be just as useless as this one.
It's intended to be a fast demo to show how quick you can use the tool. Yes the second example is useless except for demo. when you use the software yourself you can select the parts you actually want.

I love how you get to the point. You're amazement of this product was fun to watch too. Thanks.
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

Awesome that you've found it! It's an incredible tool, and I just had to share it with you 👍

Can i do anything you showed in the video with the free version or is this only available in paid version?
There's no different versions, it's either free if you download directly from the GitHub link in description, or paid if you download via a Store.

This isn't really a video editor, it's mainly intended to quickly trim videos or cut out segments. A very handy tool to have

for saving me 30mins of additional search. Please optimize your f* keywords haha
(and your production qual is just so high, instant sub!)
Might have to check through my keywords again but RUclips can also bury the helpful videos 😉
Does the quality stay the same as original clip? Bitrate and fps?
Literally the name of the program 🤦♂
Amazing, thank you.
how do u set the input and output during the video? just curious
This could be game-changing…
is there any app to crop the video without losing the quality?
Nice, I used to use avidemux to do the same (it also has this fast cutting feature) but this looks to have a nicer interface

I don't know why but the segment shortcuts (I, O) don't work for me. I have to manually press the buttons.
hmm that is strange?? on Windows or Mac? It says it when you first open the program on Windows so I presumed it'll be universal.

i'm a little disappointed about the non-exact frame cuts - but overall it's been serving its purpose. wish i would've found this video sooner.
yeah would be great for exact spot but makes sense once you understand how video compression works with keyframes. Great tool either way!
Avidemux is more precise
everytime i try to download it through github i just get a notepad file.. how did i get the zipfile?
It keeps showing 'unsupported files' for all the video clips I have uploaded there! It must be having some issues at the moment!
