On this vehicle the fault was down to the coil pack being burnt out so I have replaced the coil pack and the spark plugs how to is included in the video

My 206cc had exactly the same problem as this... so your video made it easy to diagnose what was really wrong with it. Just to double check I borrowed a OBD-II tester, connected it, and it showed PO352 and PO300 errors, which pretty much confirmed what you were saying. Changed the coil pack and plugs and it's now going better than when I bought it. Thanks again, this really helped to make this a quick, cheap & easy fix.
Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Does the engine light go away after doing this aswell
I have a 206 1.6 xt. Had alot of problems with misfire and idlling. Coil mist be changed every 2 years due to engine heat. I have my car 8 years and replaced it 4 times. Also replace your map sensor and plugs regularly. My car drive like a dream
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Perfect video was about to scrap my car saw this video gave it a try and it worked
Well done 👍🏻 thanks for watching 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice one mate:) !

God bless you. It solved it! :)
Super job 👍🏻thanks for watching ☕️👍🏻
Thanks for you

did ur car feels shaking when the catalytic converters fault popup in the monitor? or it just me
Good !!!
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi, I have a 2003 307 with the NFU 1.6 16v engine. It doesnt say "catalytic converter fault", but "anti-pollution warning" (it said "catalytic converter fault" when I tried to turn it on with the upper lambda sensor removed, didnt help). I tried changing the spark plugs, that only helped a tiny bit, but it still shakes badly. Then I borrowed a brand new coil pack and put it in. Didnt help at all. I´ve cleaned the throttle, that only helped a little bit with the engine start, but it still shakes above 700RPM.
You need to take the eobd codes and see what is causing the issue, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
same problem but i change the spark plugs 1 year ago and i have not drive the car so much, i will try to change the coil pack fist
Thanks for watching 👍🏻👍🏻
Mine has more exhaust coming out of the front than the back so I guess starting with the catalytic converter isnt a bad idea in my case. Do you know by any chance what size the nut the converter is screwed to the chassi with is?
not sure sorry, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi! My peugeot 206 with nfu engine seems to have high fuel consumption, missfires when it gets hot, hard idle, black carbon inside the tailpipe (no black smoke from it) and it starts to shake when it stops rolling at the red light for example. I found some oil between spark plugs and coil pack too. My car has these symptoms lately and all of them started together. What do you suggest?
possible coil pack issue, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
true, but it can be also from injector, the problem it can be known only by diagnose, the car error are same, antipoluarion and calalizator failure for both, coil or injector, i had both problems
Thanks for your comments, you are correct, but I definitely think the coils failing is more common 👍🏻👍🏻
my car feels shaking right now if i start the car and it pops up the catalytic conveter fault and antipollution fault. whats wrong with my car? it is peugeot 207 sedan
Hello! I have a 206 1.4i 8v and it struggles to start when cold. I have to hold the starter for 5-6 seconds and accelerate it a bit, but after it gets at operating temperature the engine starts just fine if you turn it off. What do you think is the problem? It only has 80k km and I really love it, that's the only bad thing that car has at the moment. Any advice is helpful, thanks!
sounds like a temp sensor issue, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Sounds exactly the problem I'm having, mine came up with a EST/ASR problem, when they diagnosed it they said it was missfireing
Thats right, the coil will induce a miss-fire Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi Anton (also my son's name! :)
I own a Peugeot 307/2006 and it wont start... it cranks but wont turn over. now, my key remote battery ran flat and so I replaced it hoping that was it but no. Now the display reads 'Economy Mode Activated' , all icon lights on main dash show on turning ignition then turn out, leaving ONLY the engine light still showing.
Is the car immobilised from the key fob batt change OR is the ignition coil curled over n died? Is it the main battery? (shouldn't be as only 5 months new!)
Do you have any words of wisdom for me?
Its New Years Eve... I'm stuck in the country with a car that wont start and there's no one local to help me!
I'm practical and willing to follow clear instructions to decipher the source of the problem myself!
Quiet NYE for me!! Thank you for any advice you can offer! or anyone else can offer, even!
When you say it cranks and won’t turn over, does the engine rotate when the key is turned, if so does the engine sound different?
Hi Anton! I have a 308 1.2L, year 2015 that just started doing that. Went to have a diagnostic check and they said that I'd need a catalyst converter replaced which obviously will be a fortune. I was wondering if I should get a second opinion as it sounds more like the coils than something like that on such a young car? Only has 30000 miles on it :( any advice is appreciated!
The fault is unlikely to be the cat, almost always something else like the coils, or spark plugs. Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 thank you for the quick reply and the advice! I will replace the coil and spark plugs and hope for the best! Great video!
Just wanted to update you. Replaced spark plugs and coil and the car is running perfectly! So glad I didn't fall for the garages diagnostic and did a bit more research. Your video and advice helped loads so thank you again!
Hi. Great video. I have same problem but with my peugeot 207 cc (coil cylinders are physically separated not in pack). One of the coil cylinders is not working.
1) Do i have to change all of 4 cylinders despite the fact that only one is not working? (i know which one)
2) Is buying used coil cylinders a good idea?
2) Is replacing spark plugs necessary as well?
3) Two of 4 cylinders are contaminated with oil. The head gasket was replaced 18 months ago (previous owner) so assume it's something more serious however i have this problem only now. Is it possible that after changing broken coil cylinder i will be able to drive despite oil contamination?
Thanks for the great comments, you only need to replace the coil that is faulty, a secondhand coil is fine but a new one is obviously better, if you don’t know when the spark plugs were changed ,then I would recommend changing all four, your oil leak into the spark plug holes would usually be the cam cover gasket which is not a huge job to complete👍🏻👍🏻🛠
aaanton11 not true if one coil pack fails then its likely the three remaining will fail as well so you should really replace all 4
Hi Anton did you replace all 4 coils or did the code reader tell you which one it was
This has one coil pack that does all 4 cylinders, nice and easy. Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻
aaanton11 you failed to answer his question
I have a 1.4i 16v 206 with a very similar engine but slightly smaller, would the same problem occur as the 1.6 because the symptoms are fairly identical
yes they all have similar issues,Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Looking for vid on berlingo multispace, same engine. Love all ur vids, so clear and easy many many thanks save me ££££s which i need
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi @aaanton11, having a similar problem on a 406, multiple cylinder misfire p0300 error, car shaking like crazy, no power to accelerate. Never changed the coil package since I bought the car 9 yrs ago. Could it be the same issue
always worth checking, coils and spark plugs, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi Anton, I have a 206 CC with 1.6, that has the engine light on. It runs but some blue smoke. Also, there is oil in the spark plug wells. Is this engine salvageable and what could the repair be? It has 180000 km on it, roughly 112000 miles.
Oil in the plug holes is usually just a cam cover gasket, this can cause a misfire, the mileage is not a problem if the oil has been changed regularly, I would get a code reader and see what brought the light on👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers, will definitely do a reading, but little concerned about the blueish smoke coming from the exhaust.
Are you concerned about the blue smoke or is that related to the gasket u think? Bit worried about if the engine is worn out or not, cheers!
Have you ever heard of an intermittent failure of a coil pack, I have a problem with a 206 cc 2.0l.... occasional misfire anti pollution warning pops up... have scanned for faults.... it said on one occasion ign failure cylinder2... cleared it off ...then a few days later the failure moved to cyl4.... have replaced the cat... considering coil pack.... have already fitted new plugs.. in my experience coil packs usually fail completely.... e.g.... they don't recover... what do you think? Regards Peter
Yes have had this many times where the coil pack breaks down intermittently usually when it gets hot or on a very cold morning, I would replace it under your circumstances 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks
I have a 2006 Peugeot 207, which today just after putting in fuel starting to be jittery and shown engin light on with Depollution system faulty. Is that basically the same as the catalitic converter faulty?
No, you have a Engine management fault, which could be contaminated fuel, blocked filter, a sensor fault, etc you need to get a code eobd reader to point you in the right direction 👍🏻👍🏻
@@aaanton11 I have the same symptoms on my 204 14 petrol with fault code p0170 fuel trim bank 1,p0121,p0123,p1158 car its very sluggish
I have exactly that problem right now with my 2006 peugeot 207
What did you do to fix it if you don’t mind me asking?
Hi I have Peugeot 206cc 2006 some time ABS fail light on and my automatic gear fault when I stop in roundabout and I press accilator 1 and 2 gear is heavy I mean very slower like there is no power in engine or in gear my friend told me to (off my car engine and Waite for few minutes and then disconnect negative battery wire and reconnect 4 to 5 times it work no fault every thing works normally but I drive again 33km it happened again it beep 3 times it show me '*' and 'S' it show me in screen automatic gear fault PLZ help me :(
You need to have the fault codes read with a scanner, this will give some information as to where the fault is, thanks for your comments 👍🏻👍🏻
My Peugeot 3008 engine shudders and emits white fume on cold start, after a few minutes it becomes normal, however it now has acceleration problem. Diagnosis says misfires in 2 of the 4 injector cylinders, ”fuel circuit pressure measured in injection rail below setting“, "richness regulation mixture too rich“.
I was told it's not spark plug or coil issue, rather the fuel injectors, or high pressure pump problem, which will cost me a bomb. The least expensive possible issue is sensor fault. What do you think?
are you loosing any coolant ? Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Not at all, my coolant pump is only half year old. Which, in the past, it did leak.
hello can you help me urgently I have the same misfiring problem in my 1.6 peugeot 206 xt 16v automatic gearbox car. as soon as it runs, it misfires and at the same time writes a cataliytic converter fault on the trip computer. i have a spare coil in my hand, but I disassembled it because the output is a subsidiary industry, what do you think I should do with the original one on it? and I have to change the spark plugs under the coil, just like you do, right?
change the coil and spark plugs, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

could be, they are sometimes intermittent, usually when engine is hot, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi Anton, I have an Peugot 207 from 2009 with the error code p1338. The mechanic told me that there is a problem with te second (2) cylinder and that he need to replace the bougies spark plugs. He replaced them all 4 but now the problem is NOT solved. My car is also shaking when I drive like your video. The cooling fan also starts very quickly and only goes off after 5 minutes when the engine is off. What do you think about it?
Did he change the coil pack?
aaanton11 he Will now replace the 2nd coil
@@aaanton11 Hi Mate, The mechanic has replaced the coil and it seems very good. I think that the problem is now solved mate!
Hi Anton,
My 307 1.6 2002 getting same trouble, but after an half hour after driving, so it means when its completely warm. It's going fine on the start, any advice please?!

I was driving my car and the engine warning light came on - did a diagnostic on it and it has come up with a P1337 error - looks like a faulty coil in cylinder 1.
The AA dude removed the fault from my dash and the issue seems to have gone ? he hasn't done any work to it at all..
Do I leave it or get it the coil and plugs changed ? cars a pug 308 gt 2017 and only has 23k miles.

Hi,
What's it mean when 206 03 plate 1.1 car shaking constantly and sounds like the back box has gone on exhaust but there's no holes. Also there's a lot of blowing coming out of end of the exhaust it smells too I've checked the exhaust it's all air tight. Also theirs a lot of white gunk in engine and a bit in coolant. I don't think head gasket has gone cause the car is still blowing warm air inside the car and engine not smoking or kicking smoke out. The mechanic before said the white gunk is because the car not been driven on long journeys is this correct? Is there any suggestions what I can do?
if there's white gunk in the oil, and oil in the coolant, high probability the head gasket is damaged, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1).” 206 1.4 petrol any help please I changed catalyst converter and both oxygen light still on
what fault codes are you getting on the eobd reader, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi Anton my son has a Peugeot 206 2003 1600 which has just died will not start has the economy mode active and will not start we had the AA out but the car will not talk to the AA computer do you thick it could be the coil pack as we have light, central locking, windows, radio, heater, indicators, but will not start any advise will help as need to get it started so we can get it to a garage thanks Richard
It’s doubtful to be coil pack, if it’s not communicating the ecu is Not powering correctly, more likely to be a fuse, poor earth/connection, or water ingress into the fuse box area👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you will have a try Richard
I got a 206 xsi stage 1,decat, induction, exhaust and one day i was at traffic lights and i went to accelerate and that happened bad Even my brakes stopped working i changed the coil pack and spark plugs but nothing happened its still the same u got any idea what i could do
Car won't even rev past 2k
you need to read the eobd codes to give you an idea, possible one of the fuel injectors might be sticking, would also cause a misfire, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Alright thanks I'll give it a check the reader didnt come up with anything that could lead to the issue
*Peugeot 206cc cabrio '05 1.600cc* I also have *catalytic converter fault* and next error message is *antipollution fault* car is shaking and engine indication flashes. Should i change the coil pack on the top of the engine?
sounds like the same fault, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Did you change coil pack if yes did it work I have same error codes
@@pablothespy3639 Yes! i change the coil pack and it worked! but Funny... i bought a coil pack which was problematic!!!! and after some kilometers the same error appear!!!! i replace it again and everything works perfect!
and can the obstruction of catalyst cause to coil burn
It is the other way round the faulty coil will cause a misfire on the engine which then leads to un burnt fuel travelling down exhaust pipe into the catalytic converter, which then gets extremely hot and incinerate innards within the catalytic converter they usually at this point will be glowing red hot, completely destroying it which sounds like what has happened to you thanks for the comments 👍🏻👍🏻
aaanton11 thank u so much. I will inform you if there is any improvment .and subcribed to your channel
aaanton11 thank the proven was on catalyst .intire of its had been burned

Got this shi# with my Peugeot 307. Got engine light flashing and message "catalyst converter fault". Car was shaking and don't want to drive normally. I think it's somehow related to overheating? When I start engine - everything is fine. After some driving this happened.
The coils usually fail when they warm up so possible this is the fault, you need one of these amzn.to/3ccEaWn to pin point the issue.
