i think one reason for not really making spin pitches is because we never rated nauman ali and sajid khan. and we have made shaheen and naseem into some world class bowlers based on a few white ball spells. we rate moments more than actual performances that is why abdu razzaq played for 5 years after that south Africa century with one fifty. and wahab riaz made a career out of two spells in mohali and one against australia
Brilliant Osman you remembered the great Miandad, YES exactly the way he put pressure on batters as a captain Imran Khan learned from him and used to listen to Javed bhai when they started co-operating in the teams captaincy together.
The events of this series should be recorded for posterity. Definite Amazon 'The Test' material. Maybe a few children's books about a ragtag bunch of unlikely heros...
It might be a “tukka“ that we made the pitches that we did and picked Noman and Sajid…. But the fact is that as cricket fan it was super absorbing test matches!!! And to see us dissipate bazball was crazy. Watching great spin bowling dominate batters was super fun. Couldn’t ask for more as a cricket fan!!!!
Sad part is that Saqlain was the head coach during Ramiz era. Unfortunately you guys did not touch upon it that how voiceless, willingly or not, he was. In my opinion it was a total diservice knowing that he is among the legend spinners in the country's history. In addition, no quality spinners were developed or given proper chances under him to protect one spinner eventhough he did not play red ball.
Even quality spinners like saqlain in his pomp would've been useless on the type of pitches we had prepared at home in the last 2 years. Problem wasn't lack of spinners it was the pitches. Sajid and Noman were there 2 years ago and they were averaging close to 50 because we were rolling out roads. Indian spinners do well in India not only because they are better but also because their pitches aid spin bowling. Take santner for e.g. Santner is very skillful but dont think hed be taking 13 in a game in say SA or NZ. For spinners to succeed, the pitches need to take spin. Our spinners and batsmen were always going to be better at spin than the poms so I don't know who's idea was it to prepare roads in 2022 and in the 1st test at multan.
@@muhammadaurangzeb7079Ramiz saw a yes man in him. As soon as Ramiz starts his tenure, Misbah and Waqar resign, in a couple of months Wasim Khan reigns and then Mohd Wasim's selection committee was removed. Ramiz wanted unchecked power and autocracy
Let me tell you when the pitches debate ended in India. It's when we started winning outside Asia. BGT 2018 to be precise. That's when it ended. We realized that we can win on bouncy tracks as well.
To round off Ahmer's point about Asian teams being apologetic about turning pitches (Pakistan more than it's neighbours), SENA teams don't footnote good batting/ bowling performances at home with "But but he is yet to do well on turnings tracks in Asia..."
Despite the odds, despite the context, these players turned up in a way that is not just improbable it is definitional of Pakistani cricket history. Despite everything and everyone else.
Great fun..that assassin whose family is already dead is the most dangerous, was a great but ghastly analogy to describe the mindset of Sajid & Noman 😂
Excellent podcast as usual. Sirf aik cheez I would like to add when you mentioned our good batters against spin, we should not forget Noman and Sajid. Noman against spin I feel is a really safe bet. Proper Lara
Brilliant Osman you remembered the great Miandad, YES exactly the way he put pressure on batters as a captain Imran Khan learned from him and used to listen to Javed bhai when they started co-operating in the team
So many things to say. From the ultimate low after the Bangladesh series to this. No one would’ve predicted this if we were told we’d win two & lose three tests that it would be 0-2 vs Ban & 2-1 vs England. Only Pakistan cricket can switch things so fast.
Great show gents, well done - just on SA tour, why not take both spinners, look at SA have utilised Maharaj, and in past Imran Tahir, yes a different job but I can see Sajid and Noman doing a job, keeping up one end, contrast to pace, breaking a partnership etc
Congrats guys … Pak finally did it and great to see you guys smile … Sajid was incredible and Noman Ali are your star players ..and new players are springing up … hopefully the so called “Brand cricketers” don’t come back to spoil this energy … and hopefully they find a good replacement for the wicket keeper to remove all the negative energy from the team … congrats again and lots of joy and Happy Diwali from India … unfortunately India me Rohit garden me ghoom raha tha..😂
Dont forget extra bounce in SA may help Sajid…. with enough revs on the ball, the odd ball may hurry on, skid through and beat the bat…. especially if batter goes on back foot…. think it through.
Seeing the central contract news already takes away almost all the shine, whatever madness it was, that the PCB earned. Fakhar and Iftikhar out while Saim, Shadab, Abrar and so many others are in. Fine, back Saim, but instead of two others who have non-stop delivered in their roles? Pakistan doesn't deserve a Fakhar type player frankly - shocked Saeed Anwar lasted as long as he did given how Fakhar is tossed about on the whims of these people.
To continue the movie theme 🦇 Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali became the heroes Pakistan didn't deserve but ones they needed. It would have been awful if England had won back to back whitewash series in Pakistan in the space of two years but thankfully, not all heroes wear capes 👏🏽 🙌🏽
In certain sections of a test match, irrespective of the pitch, Pakistan team can apply pressure with people around the bat, and intelligent lengths and flight, please lets keep this facet in mind….
Both Nouman and Sajid are our hero, but statistically Norman perform far better and here is why Nauman took 20 wickets for 277 runs and Sajid took 199 wickets for 491 runs. This shows that Norman should be the player of series.
aqib ball term is just Poor hypothesis i believe in comparison of BazzBall , in the sense that we were creating turning pitches earlier, its just the inefficiency of previous cricket board and the team management . Still our board show sometimes no clue , just check the new team selection, No contract for Fakhar Zaman, and no selection of Saim in T20 is hilarious (if you are selecting him in any format)
Facts: Pakistan Home Series Losses / Draws in the 90s & 2000s: 1995: 2-1 vs SL 1996: 1-1 vs NZ 1997: 1-0 vs SA 1998: 1-0 vs AUS 1998: 1-0 vs ZIM 2000: 2-1 vs SL 2000: 1-0 vs ENG 2004: 2-1 vs IND 2007: 1-0 vs SA Despite having legendary players in the 90s, the Pakistan team consistently struggled with defeats at home.
I was really hoping that Ahmar would really share his thoughts about "nahoosat", candidly, honestly with no holds barred but here I am sitting utterly disappointed after watching the whole podcast
I dont think they are a compelling team anymore. I cant remember the last time Pakistan did giant killing especially in test cricket. Happy to be corrected on that. Maybe away win against srilanka in 2023 but that too is not giant killing per se. They were close in against Australia but couldnt hold it on. A compelling team will rise and punch above its weight consistently, like Srilanka did in 2000s in limited overs cricket or NZ post 2010s. Pakistan, on the other hand, consistently sets the bar so low that it is impossible, in narrative and in playing style (if there is any), to appreciate the wins. I genuinely think our team is great with good batting and bowling core and can achieve a lot, but I dont think it will happen anytime soon. Largely, because we wont play enough to understand our playing style or have structural consistency to experiment and evolve. And not to get ahead of myself, but i was sitting in the shaibi bhais stand watching two spinners go at it. i mean it was fun but it shattered a part of my identity that i cant reconcile anymore. I am on the brink of fascism.
if a team is consistently punching above its weight then its fun, heart warming etc, like a children's show. when the team can go from horror show to heroes and back, then that's compelling.
@Osman vis a vis Rameez. If you look into anything asinine in Pakistan. Something that makes absolutely no sense in terms why this was done. When you will look into it you will see a naaf pay pant bannay wallay uncle standing there, self assured and full of himself. Just pushing asinine weird solutions for problems. Rameez is the epitome of these self assured naaf pay patloon pahennay wallay uncles. So whenever you see something stupid and Rameez was there or there-abouts you best believe it was Rameez Uncle jo naaf per patloon charha ker bawla pana macha rahay thay.
but you know what's going to happen right. come the next away series the discussion in pcb will probably drop one of the two spinners to make room for a young player he will never get a chance to play "kyon ka sena may pcb ki phat ti hain" and they will probably drop the uglier one first and give fitness and age as reasons for the drop
Look, this is actually extremely predictable, many people mostly indians were shouting about how pak should make spin wickets for the eng series and how bad bazball is at them. The fact pak only went spin after the first test debacle is a show of how stupif they were.
In certain sections of a test match, irrespective of the pitch, Pakistan team can apply pressure with people around the bat, and intelligent lengths and flight, please lets keep this facet in mind….
Armageddon is the right analogy Ahmer like Bruce Willis gathered all the nut-heads to save the planet😅
I swear I thought of the exact same thing 😅
this is what a good sunday morning should be like. Listening to osman and ahmer bhai, drinking chai, enjoying a great pakistani series win.
You guys absolutely NAILED the Ocean 11 analogy. Gosh I love listening to you guys! God bless you two!
Loved the Deewar analogy 😀
i think one reason for not really making spin pitches is because we never rated nauman ali and sajid khan. and we have made shaheen and naseem into some world class bowlers based on a few white ball spells. we rate moments more than actual performances that is why abdu razzaq played for 5 years after that south Africa century with one fifty. and wahab riaz made a career out of two spells in mohali and one against australia

that ocean's eleven analogy is so fucking good. This was a master stroke by the PCB, whoever decided to bring Aqib and Aleem dar in to the Pak setup.
the way you guys discuss aleem dar and pitch science makes me laugh all the time, simon taufel part was also hilarious 😆
@34:00 the comparison with Taufel was indeed hilarious 😂
I finally had the heart to listen an episode, I had given up for the last year
It might be a “tukka“ that we made the pitches that we did and picked Noman and Sajid…. But the fact is that as cricket fan it was super absorbing test matches!!! I think most of his experience internationally as a coach was never as head coach so I don’t know what pcb saw in him
Even quality spinners like saqlain in his pomp would've been useless on the type of pitches we had prepared at home in the last 2 years. Problem wasn't lack of spinners it was the pitches. Nice to see you smiling and happy after a really really long time. Hope it stays this way for a while 😊
The oceans 11 analogy was bonkers! Choked myself, hahaha
The Ocean's analogy is right up there with the German football team analogy. 100%!
Despite the odds, despite the context, these players turned up in a way that is not just improbable it is definitional of Pakistani cricket history. Despite everything and everyone else.
I absolutely love this podcast! I laughed my ass off when Ahmar talked of the dead man walking analogy 🤣🤣
Great fun..that assassin whose family is already dead is the most dangerous, was a great but ghastly analogy to describe the mindset of Sajid & Noman 😂
Congrats to both of you and PCT fans. Fellas, do not underplay this some "tukka". Your entire team played some wonderful cricket.
Excellent podcast as usual. Sirf aik cheez I would like to add when you mentioned our good batters against spin, we should not forget Noman and Sajid. Noman against spin I feel is a really safe bet. Proper Lara
In my recent memory, this series win is only bettered by Leicester City winning EPL a few years ago out of nowhere
Agreed 💯
The oceans 11/aqibs 11 analogy really was peak.
Brilliant Osman you remembered the great Miandad, YES exactly the way he put pressure on batters as a captain Imran Khan learned from him and used to listen to Javed bhai when they started co-operating in the team
Aqib’s 11 had be rolling 😂😂
Freakkin love this podcast!!!!
So happy for you guys and for Pakistan cricket 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤😂
You guys are the best...dead man walking😂
What an amazing show guys, the soderbergh connect was brilliant lol amazing episode guys, kartay rehna please...
wonderful podcast, kudos to both of you for making us this fun, in the doom and gloom of Pak cricket.
Awesome yaar

Absolutely brilliant show & i have the similar thoughts what you have discussed .
They play for team not for fucking themselves to just fucking score their own scores

Aleem Dar with his experience and knowledge of cricket rules turned out to be Pakistan cricket’s Walter White.
Congrats on the test & series win ❤
really really waiting for osman's piece on this win. would be a treat to read that.
Dont forget extra bounce in SA may help Sajid…. with enough revs on the ball, the odd ball may hurry on, skid through and beat the bat…. especially if batter goes on back foot…. think it through.
Oh that means Aleem Dar opened whole new path for umpires by himself
The boys are back
@Ahmer frankly speaking add a Amita Bachan section in each podcast, believe me you will see a lot of reels on this one.
Amazing bachhan dialogue …. 🤣 the voice could have been deeper and you missed saying “Ayiin”… dialogue for Aqib Javed written by Salim-Javed😈
Pretty good Amitabh voice Ahmer.

I will tell you a team which is as compelling as pakistan cricket team.... it's ferrari F1 team
To continue the movie theme 🦇
Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali became the heroes Pakistan didn't deserve but ones they needed.
It would have been awful if England had won back to back whitewash series in Pakistan in the space of two years but thankfully, not all heroes wear capes 👏🏽 🙌🏽

31:00 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey, great EP but I thought Saim Ayub played really well in the Second test match.
4 of the 11 played did not experience the defeat of the 1st test match that was also the factor and they played exceptionally well.
Both Nouman and Sajid are our hero, but statistically Norman perform far better and here is why
Nauman took 20 wickets for 277 runs and Sajid took 199 wickets for 491 runs.
This shows that Norman should be the player of series.
9 wickets

Explanation of win:
Quadrat ka nizam can put anyone in a spin
Bhai Agli podcast Karlw. Series jeet gaya hai Pakistan!
Champions trophy mn kisi team ka 100 nai hona chahiye
I think Ahmer was referring to Amitabh's movie Nastik
Pakistan beat Australia in an ODI series after 22 years.
You must do an episode
Bazzball - Born in Pakistan, died in Pakistan.
i love you guys so much kaash mai aapka waalid hota
Facts:
Pakistan Home Series Losses / Draws in the 90s & 2000s:
1995: 2-1 vs SL
1996: 1-1 vs NZ
1997: 1-0 vs SA
1998: 1-0 vs AUS
1998: 1-0 vs ZIM
2000: 2-1 vs SL
2000: 1-0 vs ENG
2004: 2-1 vs IND
2007: 1-0 vs SA
Despite having legendary players in the 90s, the Pakistan team consistently struggled with defeats at home.
Pak was making these dead pitches because of Babar Azam - he can’t play spin at all.
I think last test should called GANG I
OF AQIB
Where to get this intro song make version ?
Ahmer looks like Nikhil Chinappa
Given the caliber of you and Usman, I think the name doesn't justify the expertise you people have on the cricket
gonna tell my kids these two are wasay habib
I was really hoping that Ahmar would really share his thoughts about "nahoosat", candidly, honestly with no holds barred but here I am sitting utterly disappointed after watching the whole podcast
Yaar woh it's Aleem Dar with a ڈ
I just enjoy the fact that in batta fast the bowler is Shoaib Akhtar 😂
Shoaib always ridicules Pakistan cricket.
I dont think they are a compelling team anymore. I cant remember the last time Pakistan did giant killing especially in test cricket. Happy to be corrected on that. And Babar with out brain
Is this real?!

Lads why is your engagement so low even after being consistent for a while now, 5k subs dont do justice to your names
Who is this manhoos character whose name wasn’t uttered 😉
you guys feel ICC will penalize pindi pitch?
Better if icc penalize this one than the one on which England scores 500 in a day
an unsolicited but sincere advice, keep the videos short, max 20-25 minutes. no one likes to listen for 1 hour even if it is osman samiuddin .
but you know what's going to happen right. come the next away series the discussion in pcb will probably drop one of the two spinners to make room for a young player he will never get a chance to play "kyon ka sena may pcb ki phat ti hain" and they will probably drop the uglier one first and give fitness and age as reasons for the drop

Love the show, but
