    A bigger canister would be better, of course. But I understand the idea behind these small constructions. You have to work with what you've got. But in the very least you could put some black material in the evaporator. Use some dark stones or something. It will prevent the light from just passing through and absorb it in the evaporator, heating it up faster.
    On this scale the title might just be 'How to die of thirst', but if you get about ten of these going, it might just be enough to survive.

    It would be much more effective if you widen the evaporation surface of water so it would be much more better if you use for example plate than glass shape water container

    Would help if the plastic cup-like bottle on the inside was replaced by an aluminum can, especially a dark color one?

      @@outdoors-university I was thinking if the cooling bottle (2) was in some wet sand it would condense the water better ,
      then the same setup but use the bottle from (1) so the Large plastic bottle would be in the sun and tip to tip with another bottle in some wet sand to cool it.

    • @outdoors-university
      @outdoors-university  10 месяцев назад +1

      On the second method I was cooling down the bottle with sea water. As for the first method, the vapor goes up and if the bottle was sideways, the vapor would stick on the upper side of the same bottle, bringing no results.

    • @maxgood42
      @maxgood42 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@outdoors-university Yes that will happen , but it is steam so maybe play with some angles to get the best effect.
      I was thinking about how the wet sand cools as it evaporates and it would incorage the condensation effect , as well as shading the collection bottle to keep the clean water.

    If people are starving for water, THIS is way too slow process to get enough water to survive. 1 hour has passed and all you got in return was 1 drop of water.
    You would not survive long at this rate, if you are in desperate need of water.
