- About the gamemode:
Special Ops or Spec Ops is a single-player or co-op game mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
A new Special Ops mode includes one and two player cooperative play. Special Ops mode includes several fast-paced action missions similar to "Mile High Club" which are more difficult than normal campaign missions and are not related to the main storyline. It picks out certain parts of the single-player campaign that "work well with co-op". Missions are unlocked by earning stars, which are acquired by playing levels at certain difficulties. Regular difficulty earns one star, hardened earns two, and veteran earns three. Missions are divided into five groups, named Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, and Echo - the last being the hardest. Within the groups, there are types of missions such as "Breach and Clear" and "Elimination". There are special enemy types, such as those using Riot Shields, even the Special Ops exclusive Juggernaut, wearing heavy bomb squad armor. There are a total of 23 Special Ops missions, two of which are only playable in two player co-op due to one player assisting the other in carrying out the mission's objective from air support.
Many levels are based on the ones from the singleplayer campaign, while others are completely original to Special Ops, including a couple from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The levels themselves have content unique to Special Ops; an enemy called the Juggernaut, for example, who wears heavy armor and is more difficult to kill than a regular soldier.
They are a set of fast-paced missions in the spirit of "Mile High Club" from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Originally meant to be the co-op portion of the story campaign, it was spun off into its own separate game mode as Special Ops. This also allowed the designers to add new levels that were interesting, or reuse existing levels with expanded or new objectives, without having to fit them into the single player campaign storyline, like the campaign missions. The missions can be played solo, split screen or online, with a few being two player exclusive (needing two players in order to play).

@@DangerousBoy Anyone who has played this game knows this takes HOURS AND HOURS of experience. It's a matter of having the controller be an extension of your mind and body.
You first have to memorize the buttons and what they do like that back of your hand. You learn from experience where the enemy starts off at etc etc experience and muscle memory is what it takes.

I bought the original MW2 a few days ago and beat the campaign on Veteran. I then hopped over to Spec Ops n had a blast (still trying to get 3 stars on all missions! 👀). I regret not investing a lot of time into the game back in the day.

This was a fun watch. I still play these missions all the time. By far the best game ever produced of this genre. I got 4:32 on Estate Takedown veteran setting one time. I couldn't freakin believe it lol.

@@jamarjohnson6077 lol, I used the gun/grenade launcher you start with, changed my rifle to the one with the thermal scope and I just went on a rampage. One thing I did notice that round, the enemy was very aggressive and came to me in waves. I had some well placed claymores as well. My best time before that was 5:07. The game is still damn fun to play.

This was a truly amazing video. I never came close to the Star 69 achievement on this game…I don’t even think I completed the last 2 missions on Echo on regular difficulty! I can’t imagine the number of times you would have died trying to do all this…some of the flashing red parts were one sniff away from doom even in this video. The nostalgia from watching this was very real and I haven’t enjoyed watching a video on RUclips as much for the longest time. Thanks for posting.

This made me realize that (among other things that have been totally different from the way they were when I played this game years ago, reflecting manipulation most would find difficult to believe, considering that I play offline with an offline console) I haven't seen EVEN ONE of those fully automatic Glocks in O Cristo Redentor since I started playing it again within the past week.
The good old days of playing special ops split screen and free for all with 3 people miss those days.

I didn’t realize until later that the spec ops skins reflect the campaign character skins in the game. All the missions involving Task Force 141 have Roach’s skin and the Rangers have the skin that reflects both Allen and Ramirez. In special op that reused the map for the All Ghillied Up mission, the character model is actually Soap if you look closely enough at his face.

I first player this game in 2021....yes i am 12 years old present day.....i got to witness the most amazing and the most heart racing game ever....i will never forget the days that i used to play this game...i will download this game again,and relive those moments.
You could have made body count easier and quicker by grabbing the RPG and going to the right end of the map, allowing you to hit a loaded troop transport and two BTRs in quick succession.

i swear back when i was kid seeing those juggs freak the hell outta me, as soon as i see it, i scream " jugger....naut" and heart rate went stonks.
I used to camp to kill those mofos from a distance, I couldn't dare to go head on against those 2 legged rhinos.
This is relarelatable man...in the mission homeland security...once I heard that juggernaut theme song...my heart raced up and i would usually camp the entire mission.
He play like he know where the enemies are in advanced. It's only well practice. Swear, he can't do like this in first time

high explosive very difficult I can't pass since I installed the game How did you pass this mission?
Black Panther It’s just about spawns of the juggernauts.
1. Only run when you have to or else you’ll run out of stamina in dangerous situations.
2. Memorize the map and note of escape routes, some buildings have cut throughs to another side of the map
3. Headshots seem to be effective as a one shot (saw it in a video) but takes too long to aim for the head so shoot the ground near them with Thumper, this will take 4-5 rounds but it’s quicker.
4. Never kill more than 1 juggernaut at a time or else 2-3 will spawn at a time and can get you trapped.
5. Use flash bangs to stun a Juggernaut while backing up and shooting, this will award you with 2-3 rounds on them without them shooting.
6. Refill ammo only when Juggernauts are far behind you, so run around the map to one side and lure juggernauts there, then run to the ammo crate by the spawn

Man, my problem is forgetting to focus on completing missions and trying not to leave a single person alive in chapters. I'm playing the game on the computer and I have a very crappy mouse. Sometimes the right button doesn't work hahah 😁 I finished all but one episode as "veteran" :)

Got all stars years ago, but some missions were so hard to do. we needed like 500 trys for „breach & clear“ lol.
That AC-130 mission also very hard. delta missions were the easiest imo.
Breach and Clear is probably one of the easiest ones lol. Just spam grenades and flash bangs and then just sprint to the finish before the enemies can figure out what just happened. Beat it in 30 seconds this way, so much easier than doing it 'legit'.

the song that plays out in the scrapyard really does remind me a lot of order 66 theme from Revenge Of The Sith when were shown the fight on Kashyyk and Master yoda is horribly shocked and Hopeless as the clone and Drones fight and this is what it looks like accept instead of Clones and Drones You have Shadow Company and Makarovs men.
