Thank you for the inspiration. I was looking for someone like you to show me it was doable. I’m 30 yrs old and dropped out of community college 11 years ago due to ‘life’. My only goal in life since I was young, was to get into Berkeley. My grandfather passed away and the regret of him not seeing me go to Berkeley started an engine that had been untouched for over a decade. I live near San Marcos coincidentally, and I just enrolled at miracosta in Oceanside for summer classes, and am going to try the same thing. Working a full time job also. You rock dude. Thank you for posting!
wow, this is crazy I'm getting this on my feed now. I went to csuf my first year and because of all the same reasons you said, I decided to transfer out to a cc for this academic year in hopes to transfer to a UC. its definitely refreshing to see someone else who's already done it, and gives me hope for the future for sure.
Good for you. UCLA is just slightly better than CSUSM, which isn’t particularly strong when it comes to career prospects after graduation. On average, their graduates don’t stack up well against those from schools like Berkeley, Stanford, or Caltech. While UCLA is a good school, it doesn’t carry the same level of prestige among top employers in America. Major firms, whether in finance or tech, don’t heavily recruit from UCLA unless you’re among the very top graduates of your class. Breaking into top-tier firms like bulge bracket banks or leading tech companies is a challenge for most UCLA grads. On the other hand, Berkeley grads enjoy a distinct advantage as the best employers actively recruit from there, recognizing Berkeley’s academic rigor and industry connections.
My exact thought process for going to UC Berkeley over UCLA. But people will still favor ucla because it ranks higher on a bias school ranking list or because its dining hall is #1 or because the weather and location are S tier. (all criteria you shouldn’t judge upon to decide on a school) But ucla is still light years ahead csusm. Csusm has zero to little placement in white collar jobs. At least ucla’s name recognition will get people placed at the big 4 and other mid tier firms.
Kinda, some cc’s have better professor and counselors, which is going to make transferring easier. Yeah you can take classes at diff CC. I did it to avoid bad professors.
what should I talk about for my UC essays? Is it okay to reuse essays from HS? I go to a state school rn but i like 90 percent sure I want to transfer to a cc in hopes to get into a top UC but I feel like I REALLY need to work on my essays? Any thoughts on using chatGPT?
Noooo don’t resuse essays from high school. chatGPT can be good for brainstorming but these essays need to be earnest and from your pov. College admission officers might be pretty good at spotting out a chatGPT essay since I’m sure many applicants will shoot their shot using it so I’d lean away from chat.
Hi, I'm currently a freshman at San Francisco state university (started this fall), but I only applied here because I save money. I feel like this school is not good for em though like I'm just interested in going to to a CC in my city and transfer to a UC or a better CSU. Do you think it's a good idea to drop out of my school this next semester or next year?
@@adamramirez1 I might go to San Marcos this January but I wanna ask is San marcos overall a good uni as obviously compared to the top 100 ranked unis it’s not comparable but for mid tiers is it good? Also is it harder to make friends if let’s say I transfer after the first 2 semester
Cal State San Marcos is a solid school. You’re the biggest factor is what you get out of your college experience, no matter where you go. Yeah it’s a bit hard to make friends at csusm if you’re not dorming. Not impossible but you’re gonna have to put yourself out there.
@@adamramirez1 I see well I do plan to stay on dorms tho I’m not sure how hard it is to book it anyway thanks for the insight also I can transfers with let’s say 3.5 gpa from csusm to a great uni in California like ucla or usc, berkeley or Irvine also considering how expensive it is how much is scholarships do they offer ?

You got this. It’s time to put in the work though.

Does it matter what ccc u go to? Can u take different classes from different cc at the same time?

Hey Adam, I love your video its extremely informative and inspiring!!
Btw I like your mic, where'd you get it from?
Thanks! I got it from Logitech, I think it’s called the creator mic.
Do transfer students require SAT scores
Nope, just gpa and essays.
@@adamramirez1as a international student does Ielts matter as my score is 7 and if I transfer I will be doing that from the the uni ?

Great idea, you’ll save even more money.
Can you do it after first semester?
Yup
