So glad you reacted to this Ryan! I will admit, as a previous fast food worker (5 years of McD's), every personality trait you see in this episode (main characters/Customers (NPC's)) are 1000% accurate for a day to day shift. 11:22 Nah, I just think he appreciates the kind words. And poor Pomni really means it for him... it's her way of saying goodbye to a friend who can't remember her.
Hi Ryan, I know nobody asked but here’s my unwanted take on episode 4. What I believe Gangle represents is not only masking, but depression too. Gangle is only mostly herself when her comedy mask is broken. Since she’s always sad on the inside and wears a happy mask to keep her social reputation intact, like Ryan described. It’s also noted that when Pomni tries talking to Gangle, she tells Pomni that she doesn’t know if Ragatha is truly being genuine, hence another metaphor of social masking. It seems that mostly everyone in the circus has some form of mask they hide behind, excluding Pomni and Zooble because they seem to be the most truthful and honest people in the circus. Kinger becomes more like himself when in darkness, Ragatha is shown to hide certain truths from her friends, we see this when she tells Gangle she’s annoying with her happy mask when under the influence of stupid sauce, implying that she’s much more easier to deal with or shove into a corner when her sad mask is on full display. Even Jax has some form of mask, since he tells Gangle he likes her better when she’s sad, and the fact that his smile falls when he leaves Spudsy’s, appearing more burnt out since trying to keep up a carefully crafted mask of humour and sarcasm all day long takes some energy to do along with daily tasks like working a job. And the amount of times he breaks Gangle’s mask could be a symbol that he’s trying to force Gangle to show her true emotions by shattering her social mask again and again. I may be reading into it too much and it could be boiled down to Jax just wanting to torment Gangle, but that’s the picture I get from this episode, don’t know about you. Also, RYAN PLEASE REACT TO MURDER DRONES!!!
Gangle was so close to turning into those creatures with multiple eyes with various colors. Pomni AND Zooble really helped her at the end of the adventure. This episode is so relatable, it’s good.

i like how the beginning of the episode was just chill, and it just went to Ragatha beign High, Pomni stalking Gummigoo, Jax looking like he's gonna lose it,Gangle being hit by a truck and Kinger....not being there in the first place
9:34 there is no way he doesn't remember. Once Pomni mentions his name Gummi has a look of realisation and tries to reach out to her, but Gangle still holds her in the conversation so it'd be rude to interrupt, especially as she works there 😭♥️💙💛💚
@DrCocofruit @Shillzhy OR It could be that when Pomni mentioned Gummygoo's name, Gummygoo was immediately shocked, with a surprised facial expression, grabbing Pomni's shoulders as if wanting to say something like this: Gummygoo: "Wait a moment, I haven’t told you my name yet, how did you know it?" Just like that. But because of the gag mask, Pomni didn’t get the chance to speak to Gummygoo about what was really happening to him and Pomni. And when Gummygoo was about to leave the restaurant, Pomni approached Gummygoo and wanted to tell him something, but based on Gummygoo's expression, he still looked confused. This is just my theory, okay? It could be true or could be wrong. For those who read my comment, what do you think about my opinion? Please reply to my comment. That’s all, thank you for reading.
20:35 This will forever be my favorite scene from this episode so far! Its just super heartwarming to see Gangle super happy and free for who she truly is!
Gangle looks kinda shocked when she saw the truck. It is still possible that the meaning of this is that she really did try to commit suicide before, but personally I'm thinking it means something else
Honestly I really like what this revealed about some of the characters inner workings ragatha being a people pleaser while secretly harboring resentment against the others is interesting especially given we constantly see her being the positive support character most of the time gangle starting to repair herself as well as showing how she's used to her comedy mask constantly being broken and being happy all the time is something abnormal to her I also like how Zooble and Pomni are the more or less most normal people at the moment both of them helping gangle in more logical ways throughout the episode zooble reaching out to Gangle attempting to give her a new mask and constantly helping her out during the adventure and Pomni willing to listen similarly to kinger giving them a moment to get their problems out of their system and offering a solution which I think shows how the characters all bounce of each other in a realistic sense which is really well done and i suppose fitting of this adventure putting them in a more realistic environment
I think Gummigoo doesn’t remember but can piece together what might’ve happened and feels sorry for Pomni His reason is how did she know his name without him telling her
Ryan, you've gotta dive more into all this indie animation. There are so many other series and pilots out there that are just as good as Digital Circus. Try Murder Drones, one of Glitch's other productions!
Definitely the most relatable episode for most people. Forcing yourself to be someone you’re not to make others happy or better. But as soon as you’re on your own again, the mask drops, the exhaustion kicks in and the loneliness arrives. And unfortunately it does drive some people to the breaking point.

Fun fact, at 5:25 if you read the name of the books when Gangle calls Caine the first time, one of the books in the back says MatPat Theory, it’s the tall red book to the right of the teapot
@@universegod1698 Manic can really be any emotion, as long as it's both intense and sudden, which is exactly what we see from Gangle when she wears that mask. Anywhere from anger to glee to that depressive state around the end.
If you start thinking about it, each one of the characters designs actually represents something related to the characters life before ending up in the circus (Zooble not liking himself/herself from it's looks [still trying to figure out the gender], Gangle hiding her true feelings around others, and Kinger having something related to the creation of the circus)
Ryan, I would highly recommend you watch Murder Drones, which is also in Glitch. Because you love scary and violent stuff, I think it would be a great show for you to watch!
0:35 this part of the video just reminded me that Ryan is one of those RUclipsrs who never nags us with sponsors and honestly I think that’s something I take for granted sometimes
It seems that each episode deals with each of the characters' problems. Last one for Kinger, and this one for Gangle. I believe Jax isn't actually a bad person, but instead uses sadistic means to deal with the reality that he is trapped, trying to stay alive.
it seems like it's a joke gooseworx liked to do in their art before the show was made, making ridiculous non canon facts and interactions up, like Caine being married to Pomni's mom and her having a unicorn horn and the catchphrase "Well, it's possible" which was also referenced
The Twelve Man tapes were stuck in my head so when Ragatha got thrown in the deep fryer I had a Vietnam Flashback. On another note this episode was a favorite because I also work a minimum wage job.
Hi Ryan. Your videos have helped me through a lot of stuff this year. Unfortunately, I lost a good mate of mine to cancer this year during February, and I had been struggling for a while. Your videos made me laugh and helped me calm down whenever I felt stressed and overwhelmed. And again, your videos have helped me. I graduated college, I was so damn nervous about going, but your videos genuinely helped me calm down and go through with it. You help me and a lot of people and make us laugh. You’re a really awesome RUclipsr and I hope to keep seeing your videos.
I feel like Jax has always treated the situation as it is: a game. Every adventure so far has been just that. Up until now, he's always taken advantage of that. Now, he's been confronted with the fact that if he doesn't play by the rules, there are indeed punishments more severe than just loosing. He underestimates Caine.
For some reason my comment got deleted... *very fun, but not really* Wanted to add onto your recommendation by *strongly* recommending the animation web series Hunter: The Parenting. It's pretty uniquely animated, VERY well-written and acted, and quite funny-- but there's more than enough tension and horror to go around. Stuff like how vampirism dehumanizes oneself and forced recruitment into wars we don't understand. Or a son frustrated that his dad is keeping secrets, even though the father has good reasons, or a grandson experiencing something very traumatic but being unable to properly communicate it with his family. The kid tries to do this a bit by making drawings and stories, but when there is finally time for him to share the story & drawings with his family, telling of a particular part of the story sends him breaking down again. There's lots of stuff that dives deep into the characters, lots of jokes, tales that tell of the details of supernatural creatures and how they operate, as well as their victims' fate-- be it through the characters' academical understanding, or direct experience. But in the World of Darkness, hope does still shine through. From the outside, and from the inside. Again, really good series. Can very warmly recommend Hunter: The Parenting.
9:14 it’s a fan theory that Ragatha might have a crush on Pomni when she complains about Pomni flirting with Gummigoo and how she wants someone to flirt with her. Ragatha also tends to swing her hips a bit more around Pomni. To add to Gummigoo, I do think he remembered Pomni because once she says his name, his expression visibly changes and he reaches out to her before the scene changes and he’s out of frame. I personally believe he did remember Pomni but chose not to say anything in the end because of what he remembered. The first person who broke the illusion of what he is, who accepted him and could connect with him, is around people who can literally make him disappear and wipe his memory. He’s not just protecting himself, he’s protecting Pomni given her reaction to reuniting with him and how (almost) desperate she was to just talk to him.
i honestly don't think Jax is a bad dude, he's just a chaotic type who's way of staying sane in that world is to treat it as a video game. a place where him and his friends just mess around gmod/VRchat style. After watching this ep it's honestly made me think that the only reason he keeps breaking Gangle's mask is because he prefers when she''s just being herself and that he never really meant to hurt anyone cus whenever he realised that she was being serious he immediately stopped messing around.
For everyone saying it’s impossible for Gummy to get his memories back since that’s not how computers work…..I dunno about that. The circus seems like it takes place in a computer that’s been dropped on the floor one too many times LOL. It’s totally possible imo for there to be a glitch/mistake that lets him keep his memories even after getting popped
So Gangle was a shift manager and Ragatha probably grew up around horses. So who is Pomni? A therapist? Because she gives therapy to someone in each episode after the pilot.
This episode is basically saying that some people wear a happy mask to hide their real emotions to hide it from their family, friends, Co workers, classmates, etc. It just shows that people are just going through alot when they pretend to smile....and that's the harshest reality
@8-BitRyan Have you considered trying to fit watching Murder Drones into your schedule? I know other people have asked, and its quite loved. The series is finished, not very long so you could probably binge it honestly. Its made by Glitch, the same creators of The Amazing Digital Circus, however I think leans more into being darker than TADC.
The fact that Gangle *was* actually a shift manager before she got trapped in the circus means this episode actually gives a pretty bleak glimpse into what her life was like.
I think Gangle just became one of my very few “literally me” characters after this episode lol. Also, note for Ryan. Apparently Cain was based on AM according to the creator of TADC. I find this odd however because it seems like Cain doesn’t want to torture his captives but rather wants to please them. And if you know who AM is, then it’s hard to draw similarities. Maybe he is an AI that wants to make and keep friends or perhaps he was designed to make people happy and is simply doing it in the wrong way.
I was surprised to how accurate this episode was to actually working in McDonalds. I worked at one for about 6 months when I went to college and it was rough. A lot of what happened in this episode happened in my job. And to give a little information, What happened to Gangle with the truck is called being Isekaied. An Isekai is anime and manga that revolves around the main character being killed and then being reborn into a fantasy world. The common way for doing this is them getting hit by a truck. It's a very common troupe to use actually.
I love these reactions, always feels like watching it from a different perspective! The ominous background music you add is really throwing me off though :o
@8BitRyan, observe 9:33 (You were spot on, I believe that sparked some remembrance within him.) Gummygoo reaches out to her (possible symbolism). Let me know what you think of this!
Regarding Jax hitting Gangle with the baseball, if you listen closely to Ragatha and Jax's argument at the beginning, you'll hear Jax say that if he meant to do that, he wouldn't try to deny it and be proud of it, which... you know what, that's a valid point, coming from Jax.

Did you know: If pomni holds out her hands in front of her, its a grabpack?
LOL
I didn't think about that lol
9:34 there is no way he doesn't remember. Once Pomni mentions his name Gummi has a look of realisation and tries to reach out to her, but Gangle still holds her in the conversation so it'd be rude to interrupt, especially as she works there 😭♥️💙💛💚
orrrr, it could be he's weirded out that this random fast food worker knows his name
Dude she committed suicide 😭
@@MarvelsScreamSimp it looked like that was unintentional, she tripped
Gangle looks kinda shocked when she saw the truck. It is still possible that the meaning of this is that she really did try to commit suicide before, but personally I'm thinking it means something else
@@SalwaCreationTime she started to back and it looked liked she did it intentionally
Ryan reacting to murder drones will be fire especially since thier's lore in all the episodes
YESSSS its really peak you know, atleast for me
Y A S
It’s kinda funny but that burger you pointed out was actually done right. You can see it on the menu at 10:20 . I love the subtle jokes in this show.
This is gonna be good! Also, mentioned it on the last video but Murder Drones is also really good and produced by the same studio!
Would strongly recommend watching the web series Hunter: The Parenting. Fun and interesting horror too. Unique animation and *very* well-acted.
i'm here to support the message of this comment
@@איליגוטמן-צפון same
Definitely watch Murder Drones! There are a number of mistakes in the subtitles for it so maybe leave them off
Gangle us actually so relatable. At first, I felt bad, then remembered that this episode is a summary of most of my days.
10:42
Fun fact, in the German dub instead of "Blumby, Skethers, Leotthew", the names of the Gloinks are "N, V, Uzi"
14:59 "The time is going so SLOW!!!"
This had me laugh every time I listen to him react to the time.
😂😂😂
Yea, that episode really telling us dark reality of job
Especially the fast food industry.
I think Gummigoo doesn’t remember but can piece together what might’ve happened and feels sorry for Pomni
His reason is how did she know his name without him telling her
Ryan, you've gotta dive more into all this indie animation. There are so many other series and pilots out there that are just as good as Digital Circus.
Try Murder Drones, one of Glitch's other productions!
Or Hunter: The Parenting by Bruva Alfabusa. Unique animation, *very* well-written and acted, got its jokes and tension and horror.
28:30 probably the best summary and best talk about this episode i have seen from a reactor on this vid always love the commentary ryan keep it up man
Ryan should watch murder drones
Fr :)
FR!!!!
true and real
Yes
I agree with this
BRO RYAN I LOVE YOUR EDITING PLEASE DONT STOP, your content always makes me and others happy
IK it's funny and good
@ IKR
Definitely the most relatable episode for most people. Forcing yourself to be someone you’re not to make others happy or better. But as soon as you’re on your own again, the mask drops, the exhaustion kicks in and the loneliness arrives. And unfortunately it does drive some people to the breaking point.
One of the best things about your channel is your intros. They are hilarious! I feel like that is the best way to compel people to watch on and enjoy: having a fire intro, and setting the mood with your personality. Really hyped to see you hit 5,000,000 million subscribers in the future, you got this!
Fun fact, at 5:25 if you read the name of the books when Gangle calls Caine the first time, one of the books in the back says MatPat Theory, it’s the tall red book to the right of the teapot
0:30 we're actually here for the rambles🌚
I feel like the new mask could be called a mania mask, considering the range of sudden emotional changes.
Or maybe manic?
...and when she said it's called a manic episode?
@@turtleface365 no manic is an emotion. Basically when you are unusually happy but something else I forgot about
@@universegod1698 ohh i was thinking of bipolar
@@universegod1698 Manic can really be any emotion, as long as it's both intense and sudden, which is exactly what we see from Gangle when she wears that mask. Anywhere from anger to glee to that depressive state around the end.
Fun Fact at 7:06: In a different language, it’s actually translated to Brainrot burger
16:11 $57.57 for the hotdogs!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!?
$70 for chicken nuggets.
I just want to say that I like how ryan doesnt pause the video to talk every few seconds. It makes it easier to watch
I literally wait for these videos from Ryan, he’s such a great content creator and person! Keep making amazing videos man!!!
" oh shoot she got some stupid in her eye" is a sentence i never thought id hear
Omg.. Ryan. Murder Drones. PLEASE. (Awesome video btw 🙏)
100% he'd love it
But also Hunter: The Parenting.
If you start thinking about it, each one of the characters designs actually represents something related to the characters life before ending up in the circus (Zooble not liking himself/herself from it's looks [still trying to figure out the gender], Gangle hiding her true feelings around others, and Kinger having something related to the creation of the circus)
Zooble has been confirmed as a they/them. Hope that helps!
Poor Gangle.
1:23: Aww. Love the added music here. 🥺
This episode hit way too close to home. Made me cry a few times but I’m seriously loving these videos
LETS GOOOO I WAS WAITING FOR THIS SM, THIS JUST MADE MY DAY
1:53 there is some old art of pomni on gooseworx gooseworx gooseworx gooseworx gooseworx's twitter having a horn on her head
it seems like it's a joke gooseworx liked to do in their art before the show was made, making ridiculous non canon facts and interactions up, like Caine being married to Pomni's mom and her having a unicorn horn and the catchphrase "Well, it's possible" which was also referenced
I love how you dissect anything you watch or play, it's the best quality of your channel
"Happiness is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it but only you can feel its warmth"
14:57 "Yeah that's a good boy, that's a good boy."
-8Bitryan 2024
Certainly one of his lines of all time
The Twelve Man tapes were stuck in my head so when Ragatha got thrown in the deep fryer I had a Vietnam Flashback.
I’m surprised that Ryan didn’t notice that Gangle truly smiled without a happy mask.
Just noticed when Caine was glitching out when he said he's a good boss, spotted the Peter Griffin death pose.
Hey Ryan, will you react to Murder Drones? It's produced by the same studio.
That would be Nice
I'd love for him to react to Animator Vs Animation
For some reason my comment got deleted... *very fun, but not really*
Wanted to add onto your recommendation by *strongly* recommending the animation web series Hunter: The Parenting.
YES! I need him to watch murder drones!
FR DUDE
I’m glad I’m 15 and not old enough to see how much this relates to the working class
YES! I love watching Ryan react to these videos and trying to break down the lore
I liked the returning npcs from previous adventures, was nice to see gummigoo’s crew and the gloink queen again
Hey Ryan! You should also check out Murder Drones! It’s a comedy horror by the TADC creators!
Ryan, have you heard of "Murder Drones"? It's another animated series made by GLITCH. I highly recommend you watch it.
I want to add onto your recommendation with another animation web series. It's called Hunter: The Parenting by the channel Bruva Alfabusa
Cmon Ryan
It's only a matter of time before he reacts to
Murder drones
Finally, another upload from you!
Huffing Paint Is Crazy 😂😭💀
Bro still hasn't watched Murder Drones. One of Glitch Productions' best shows (besides this ofc)
Anyone gonna tell him Murder Drones exists and is right up his alley?
YESSS THANK YOU. I LOVE THIS SHOW AND AS MY FAV RUclipsR ITS COOL TO SEE YOU WATCH THIS
I love these reactions, always feels like watching it from a different perspective! The ominous background music you add is really throwing me off though :o
If ya love TADC…you’ll love Murder Drones By Glitch as well
0:50 I think she was quoting the movement as a basic principle of animation
There's so much meaning we could dissect from every episode. Such good writing.
The Pomni Signature Unicorn Horn and "Well It's Possible" are an ongoing joke by Gooseworx in some of their TADC comics
26 MINUTES OF ENJOYABLE CONTENT LETS GOOOO
😮
His first instinct was "uh wah uh" "nobody can see this right?"
That's true jax-ation.
@8BitRyan, observe 9:33 (You were spot on, I believe that sparked some remembrance within him.) Gummygoo reaches out to her (possible symbolism). Let me know what you think of this!
Hurt nothing! I'm hurt enough. Packages landin' on my head; tea parties; dancin' lessons
"I miss my horses"
Regarding Jax hitting Gangle with the baseball, if you listen closely to Ragatha and Jax's argument at the beginning, you'll hear Jax say that if he meant to do that, he wouldn't try to deny it and be proud of it, which... you know what, that's a valid point, coming from Jax.
It actually ticked me off a little when gummy goo didn't remember any of them. He didn't deserve that, honestly the best character.
