Thanks for led fitting tip. I had no idea that bulb housing is removable! My problem sorted.
I'm glad you did this video I was going to give up on fitting mine with how big they are. Also the ideots put plastic and rubber around the connection stopping it from working.
Very nice mate better than messing around with HID and ballasts. If those headlamps had projector lenses these would be even better light output as they would be concentrated like with xenons. I also carry normal halogens just in case one of my HID bulbs blow as they are cheap. They benn solid for 4 years though!
Very good video
look cool nice one...
Just bought the same LED's for my Civic. How have they been for you? Anything you would have done differently? Colour? Brand? Wattage?
I took the air inlet hose off too, gives much more space. The gromet slides from the bracket and just pull and wigle it off. At 3:27 at the bottom of the screen.
I tried similar Led H4 on my T30 X-trail and I could not stand the blueish glare from the threes/leaves. It made my eyes hurt. Plus they there brighter, but the output power/beam reach did not match my Ring 120% xenon max Ultimas.
+Ahto Andron yeah I managed to get the cover off with just pushing the air pipe across abit , these are 6k so nice white rather than blue
I had 6000k too, maybe my eyes are too sensitive 😃
Ahto Andron you are correct I looked at road signs and trees etc blue white ting but nice and bright .
Ahto Andron yeah it’s way easier removing the air inlet hose. Gives you all the room you need. I fitted LEDs recently (not this brand) but that was a great tip bud. Helped me out a lot. (Had to struggle with normal bulbs on that side before lol) And thanks to CJR ELECTRICAL for the upload. Not enough Honda UK cars when searching how to vids.
Dude, I hate to tell you this but your steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car.....
How long did it last? I want to get mine done
In terms or percentage how much brighter is the view compared to standard? Need to sort the headlights on the jeep which are shocking but if you found the beam spread high I think I'll have issues with how high they are on the jeep
Dad Diaries in terms of actual brightness they are fantastic they go wider and longer than the halogens , I had to tweak the pas side headlight up a believe it or not , now there sat perfect buying some H1s next for the high beam .
The cjrshop cool. I'll have to find some H4's for the jeep :) I've got HIDs in the MR2 and I'm not sure I'll get the bulk of the cooling section in the projector units.
Dad Diaries yeah I've had HDI before and in comparison I prefer the leds , the rear cooling fan in quite large but runs very cool .
Can you give me advice why my electric adjustment don't work after installing LED bulbs?
Hey bro, I bought the same bulbs as you and also have fn2 civic. How did you secure the metal light fitting ring (from the led bulb) to the plastic white ring of the light fitting? Stuck on this?! Many thanks for the vids👍🏽
Paresh Patel hey mate you need to put the metal ring in first and clip it behind the headlight bulb clamp then slide the led bulb in 👍🏻
The cjrshop Thank you, really helpful and those bulbs are awesome....definitely worth the effort(3 hours)👍🏽
At the battery side, is it possible to change the bulb without taking out the battery?
Think you can get in from underneath near wheel. Turn wheel for room and get in by pulling plastic guard back. Can do on both sides
Hiya mate, what's the name of these led bulbs please and also are they legal .? I'm from UK and concern they might fail mot.. could you advice?
I bought Bosch Gigabulb H7's for my Gen 8, and sorry, but they are far better than those LED's. Ok they are still Halogen, and yes slightly yellower, but the light output, flood, and beam length is far far better than these LED's you've fitted.
But for what I've read they last just a few months , is that true ?
does leds make glare in this civic
Do the headlight dustcaps still fit or do you have to remove or modify them in order to fit the bulbs and caps?
I'm pretty interested in giving these a try, I've added hid projectors to headlight assemblies before but it really is a hassle having to mod the projectors and shrouds. Would much prefer a plug n play option like this.
Also how is the light scatter compared to stock bulbs? Just wondering how they'd hold up come MOT time.
Any info appreciated!
Magoo Magoon the rear cap fits back on untouched ive had no overheating problems at all work fine , the spray is worse than stock but once you play around with it , I’ve got my mot booked in for Saturday so il see what the outcome is .
The cjrshop thanks for the reply, will order a pair and see how they go. My main concern was the rear caps so if they fit then all good!
Good luck with the MOT, pls keep us updated wether they pass.
All the best!
Magoo Magoon hello yes car passed the mot today all perfect with the lights and no advisory’s either .
The cjrshop nice one! Should have the lights by Tuesday so am looking forward to chucking em in.
Thanks for the update and also the videos, don't think idve taken the leap otherwise. Cheers!
Magoo Magoon have you also purchased the high beam ones too .
How many monrhs/years do they last please
With my mk 8bthe washer bottle is stopping me getting access. It's right up near the light. A baby's hand Won't get in. Garage said washer bottle needs unbolting and moving aside
What size are the high and low
What was the polarity of the original cable, it went all muffled when you said it
Luke Wolfenden yeah terrible wind mate it's yellow 12v and and browns the negative .
Cheers matey! Do you reckon these are brighter than Osram Nightbreakers? I put them in, and they're a little meh!
+Luke Wolfenden not sure on the comparison to night breakers but there a lot brighter than my old halogens although I have got to adjust the pas one up abit
What side bulb did you adjust to sort the beam pattern out?
David Bunyan I run the led lamps horizontally and adjusted the beam angle using the headlight adjuster , the pas side had to come up slightly
I fitted the bulbs yesterday and they seem ok, what high beam bulbs did you buy?
David Bunyan I purchased some H1 off eBay will be uploading a video shortly .
The cjrshop ok cheers
How look cut off line with LED?
Kamil Nexo Nova I've adjusted the beam to its lowest setting and may play about with different lamp angles .
Hi, I'm planning to put LED sidelights to match my Xenon headlights in my civic. But I was told at halfords that such sidelights are not Road legal. Is this true? Cos my sidelights emit yellow light and it looks terrible with my xenons
Firstly I wouldn't listen to anything a Halfords bulb fitter has to say , why would running a white bulb be illegal ? I'm going to do the same and also purchased some H1 leds to do my high beam today .
Cool. I'll buy then and put them on then 👍
Jay Arellano which ones are you going for ?
Halfords 501 W5W LED bulbs 200 lumens
Item number 172456
Ive fitted them now and they look great. Halfords said that it might not pass its MOT with it but I'll fit standard bulbs when it comes to it. I don't think no one will waste time pulling me over because of it
Now, what to do with my yellow high beam and fog lights 🤔
I fitted the same bulbs but i heard its not legal. Is it true?
No there not because the way the light is emitted. The beam cut off will be all over place and fail an mot. However most testers pass them anyway!
They work and provided the MoT tester doesn't realise they're there (they usually either don't or couldn't care less) then you'll get a pass. The 'problem' is no LED main or dipped light is 'E' mark approvable. This is an EU thing as their regs' don't let you fit a bulb which draws less than 15 watts (LED's are usually less than 10W) *unless* part of a complete headlight unit. The idea appears to be that if one LED goes the manufacturer gets to sell you not a bulb but a complete headlight assembly.
Nice eh?
Glad you didn't get an MoT fail or advisory for fitting them.
*Checks MoT history*
Oh dear. ☺
I had xenon bulbs on my merc and my mechanic swapped them out for standard bulbs to pass it though mot as the law now states if the bulb is not made for the specific headlamp unit then it's a fail 🙄
I don't get it. If you driving up a lane or road with no street lighting, just turn on your full beam.
