Michaeng is a ship that I feel is part "real" / part marketed. It started off as fans noticing the interactions, natural ones - not the ones you usually see for shipping culture. I think that's the difference between this ship and a lot of others. They didn't start off playing it up for fans, it was private moments that the camera happened to catch. The more it got noticed by fans, the more the members started to tease about it. The more TWICE started openly joking about it, the more popular it became to the point that it became a meme. Once it became a meme, JYPE themselves started leaning into it by creating situations where Michaeng moments would happen. So I think in later years, Michaeng has fan service with both Chaeyoung and Mina are aware of the attention and playing along. That said, they still keep giving those real moments unconsciously. That never went away. They pretend to be annoyed at shipping sometimes (and you would be too if you knew you were expected to act a certain way), but their fondness for each other has not gone away. ANYWAY that's my theory. In no way am I assuming their real sexuality, but I do think it's pretty obvious that they have a special bond separate from the other members. We wouldn't have so many genuine moments that weren't intentional if they weren't close.
Yea I don't like the ship because of the fan service and because of the shippers being absolute crazed talking about then together whenever it's not even about them, it's extremely annoying and since it's annoying I connect it with the ship MiChaeng because that's why their annoyance happens in the first place, which then in turn connects it with Mina and Chaeyoung And it bothers me so much because if immature, annoying humans I dislike Chaeyoung and sometimes Mina even tho I love Mina and Chaeyoung I would be neutral too the same way with Tzuyu, they're adorable, don't stand out that much but still such an important part of TWICE. Honestly it’s quite rare to have a good and profound connection with someone. It’s beautiful. Chaeyoung is very talented and Mina is just an angel, so kind etc. Please don’t look at them bad just because of this.
About Mina's parents. Regardless of Mina and Chaeyoung's actual relationship [which we already know is very deep],...imagine how Mina's parents are extremely glad for someone like Chaeyoung to be so close to their daughter,...a Japanese in Korea for a long period of time. Knowing Mina has close friends there, no doubt, makes Mina's parents very happy...and why they'd carry those MiChaeng cards. I know it would make me happy, as a parent, knowing this.
I've seen enough videos of MiChae. When it's just natural and not expected Chae looks so deeply at Mina. When it is expected her brain is actually calculating the "don't figure me out" factor. Chae is just too real and Mina loves her for it.
