Social Distortion is an underrated gem. This music is rock punk blues country and classical all in one.
The Johnny Cash of our generation! Songs of hope and life! Mike thank you! For being real! And giving people hope.
Johnny Cash is Johnny Trash. Never compare country to punk again
Who’s listening to this in 2024?
Anyone cool!!! If listening you have great taste in music
Me. I’m going to see Social D next Month😃
✌️🤟🤘
@@Cesaritos-v4u Really me too!!!!
@@Cesaritos-v4uReally same! Where?
Who's not listening
Just saw them last nigh! Fuck, my voice is gone! Dude is 62 and still rocking faces off.
I could listen this song in loop for the next 60 years.
One thing that has always gotten me through life was social d. Now at the hardest point in my life I’m coming back to it when I should have never stopped listening. I used to sing this song to my soon ex wife. Social d will help me through another tough time in life. I need to get back up for my kids
most underated artists in history of music
agreed, but i will do my best to spread the torch :)
led zeppelin rocks they got a record deal. So, that's probably an overstatement.
idk about history of music though, he was big enough for me to know of him 20 yo from eatern ky
That's saying something from Jesus Christ
Raul Medina there's this thing called freedom of speech so calm your tits
this is a classic in my book
a shoe in for my porn
OK I wanna see it!
Mike Ness is one of the greatest song writers of our time.
Played loud this song is even better. Fun fact.
this song is best when played loud while driving down the highway at 100 mph
preferably in a classic car, or on a loud motorcycle
TRUE STORY!
Fun fact: this song was playing full volume the first time I got my 2001 jeep Cherokee over 100 mph
This song is already 10 years old, damn. I remember when it came out, who else?
I can not get over how epic this song is. AGAIN! *hits replay button for the millionth time*
There is 931,150 views and you expect us to believe you hit replay button for the millionth time when there's not even one million views? You just lied and you should feel bad.
agree

Same, I listen to this one my bike ride to school, I get there in three minutes. When I listen to other songs I get there in five minutes
1: turn volume down
2: plug into an amp
3: turn up amp to 11
4: sound quality fixed
amen brotha
Paul Varjak I'm kind of thinking you're silly cuz you don't make sense
These go to 11!
@@tommykokotinis9248 Watch Spinal Tap, it will make perfect sense.
Adding a Gibson to a Marshall helps immensely
Great song from an all time great group.
Strange how all the greats have classics they wrote in the beginning of their careers and never got any better but just kind of stayed the same, but damn, Social Distortion just keeps cranking out the best of the best.
Old but Gold
It's not old at all. Came out in 2010. But yes, it is gold
14 years
Most of the music greats made kick ass tunes til their last days on this earth and their music lives on forever. Mike Ness is up there with the best of 'em... I could see him and the crew going strong for a long time to come.
There's only thing on my mind, it's making my way across that old state line 😎
this bands backup singers are amazing not just on this song but all of them
Greatest band that almost no one knows about! Ness is the music version of Clint Eastwood. He gets more badass every year.
Cant listen to this song without thinking of Jax chasing those guys!, awesome song!
isnt this song on like season 4? lol
oh i see :) awesome show, awesome song!
ScatmanScotty91 except that the song has existed wayy longer than the show .. and idk soa at first was good but I find that it became too much of a biker "soap opera" after
Yes i understand that it was probably out way before the show, but the scene that this is on is just awesome and after season 4 or 5 it turned into a grittier show
ScatmanScotty91 best song for that scene
You know SOA did this song perfectly because this is the perfect music for a motorcycle chase.
SOA? oh wait nm thats that shit show with the limited plot and contrived story for simple people
Fucking rekt man
I got into son's of anarchy because it's fictional location is like smack dab in the middle of my area
@@lawrencephemister9833 that show is awesome and fuck you dude
@@lawrencephemister9833 big 10 4 on that chief!!

T: Oh gee whiz don't ya know who I was married to? YES ,yes, yes, ya tell everyone all the time how could I not?

I want it for my ring tone!
Ska hell yeah!
Well I’m a gangster 1934
Junkies, Winos, Pimps & Whores
And all you men, women and kids
best get out the way
I just left your town, took all your loot,
bought a pink carnation and a pinstripe suit,
a hopped-up V8 Ford and some two-tone shoes
And I’m already gone, I left a pool of blood and sorrow
I've got the Machine Gun Blues
I’ll be out of here for the break of dawn,
I'll hit the highway, smoke a big cigar,
got to stop and bury the cash, and get some more
There’s only one thing on my mind,
that's making it across that ol' state line,
Without a hail of avenging bullets,
waiting there for me
And I’m already gone, I've left a path of pure destruction,
I've got the Machine Gun Blues
I'm already gone, my life will soon be through,
I've got the Machine Gun Blues
I'm public enemy #1
I'm sorry for the things that I've done
If indeed we do cross path, it's nothing personal
And I’m already gone, I've left a trail of devastation,
I've got the Machine Gun Blues
I'm already gone, my life will soon be through,
I've got the Machine Gun Blues
I think Mike Ness and Social Distortion deserve to be mentioned in the same category as Lemmy and Motorhead! Rock legends in their own right!!!!
I halfway agree, no one will ever compare remotely close to Lemmy but it's like the 2 forks in the Rock 'N' Roll road, Motörhead took Rock 'N' Roll and plugged it into A metal band and the other side Social D took Rock 'N' Roll and plugged it into A Punk band
My fav band is this band social d
When I was only 1 year old, my father always played this song in the car and I sang the song and danced and he was sooo proud of meee ;)
Lol. 1 bruh come on
I’m going to see them in May and I can’t wait!!😃✌️🤟🤘🎸
Cant believe this was in 2011, seems like yesterday when my science teacher showed me Social D. Ill be rockin with these guys till my end.
I still remember young Mike in the Another State Of Mind documentary. His voice is so timeless.

That is nicely put. They are both kings in their own rights.
as soon as i get my 1964 Chevy Impala SS this song will be blasted through my neighborhood!
So happy I found this band and this song.
Que música deliciosa de se ouvir...
I hope they do a 25th anniversary of Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell like they did the past year with the self titled album. went to a show in MD, last August...so sick!
I appreciate this badassery...Thank you Mike Ness.

Everytime I listen to Social Distortion I feel jacked up after.
Mike Ness is one of the greatest song writers ever. Social D songs have the most incredible, emotion inducing melodies I've ever heard. They are one of those bands that can't be duplicated
It's 2021 and my hometown has got the machine gun blues

Mike Ness is a genius of guitar and rock and roll
Uhhhh SD is punk, not rock and roll.
@@goodburger1114punk with a lot of audible rock and roll influence
What a tune ... love social D 😎🤟
Every car chase in Mafia I played this song and it fits perfectly.
Every time I listen to this song, I get the urge to score a heist.
Same
Me too
Just keeps getting better with time!
oh youtube, when will you set me free from random A.D.D. driven musical journeys? I've got friggin' work in the morning..
once again epic Social D song
What I was talking about is him diging what type of music their making. That's all not star struck but digin it.
I saw them 9n atlanta ga in 1986 best ducking thing ever
Perfect badass music for a badass show like SOA
Mike and the gang still got it.
Saw them last night at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. Great show. I was a litlle bummed that they did not play 'Still Alive' and 'Diamond in the Rough' but the show was still great. I think Mike is at the point where he has to lengthen the shows because Social D's catalogue of music has gotten so big that they have know other choice. This is no longer a one hour in your face punk band. It has gotten way bigger than that and deservedly so.
most people at my age listen to house and r 'n' b shit. but i love this social distortion rock n' roll style!
Just as powerful as ever, great to hear them back.!
social distortion por vida!
Such epicness....
Always loved this song since I heard it for the first time in 2011
Still a banger in 2024 🤘
This tune gets better the more I play it!!!!!!!!!!!Social D has and always will kick fucking ass!
this song is kick-ass man!!!!!!!
i love the bank robbery in the music video
SOCIAL D rocks!!!
@born2boogiesocal I have never doubted their talent.
I. Love this song because SOA used it
Reminds me of “Take Me Down” by the Pretty Reckless.

Questa musica è incredibile, mi ricorda al mattino quando mi faccio la barba... Signore grazie mille

@BarrioPunkRock thank you
2:16 damn that guitar solo is fantastic!!! It's like if Heaven and Hell wrote a riff together!!
You have got to see the video for this. It’s the perfect fusion of old action movies and music!
Social D baby!
Whenever I hear this song, I have a strong urge to play games that are set in the desert

Visto!
Brilliant song, always a delight to play when kicking ass in Quincy, in Fallout 4.
Ubisoft should've used this song as a soundtrack for Watchdogs.
Any of the Saint’s Row games
Love listening to this while riding my motorcycle!!!
Only just getting into Social Distortian, every they pop up in a playlist I think "Who's this these guys are fucking sick?" and it always is
That's a jam!
