The fight reminded me of how around the time of WW2, it was assumed a white man would beat a black man in most world championship sports, and yet the black man trained and fought like they needed to win; and here, after the run of wins for the African males, it seems whitey is doing the same back to black men.

Let me get this straight, buddy. He fought for the first time in four years, was 39 years old, and tore his biceps in the first round. You seem to suggest he made that up with the snide "he claimed". You are AMERICAN, and he is YOUR countryman. NOT ONCE did you give him ANY CREDIT for not quitting. Not once did you use the word "tough", resilient", or "guts" to describe his character. You were DETERMINED to vent your disdain for him and not give him ANY CREDIT at all for anything. I wonder if the Russians would ever cover a Klitschko fight like that. Yeah, I know, Klitschko is a "respectful gentleman", you know, the guy who tweeted "Tyson fury is an imbecile who sounds like Hitler". A veritable gentleman.

Klitschko wasn't going for a knockout. His hits were all high. He intentionally hit to inflict the most damage for the longest period of time to really give a beating, without putting him to sleep.

Yes . Vitali set out to humiliate him and prolong the agony , for all the things he said. In regards to dumb ass trash talk . Briggs must tank up there amongst the biggest crappers . All froth, hot air and nothing to back it up with apart from his gob that never stops yapping crap . I agree with you, Vitali could have ended it at any time but just when Briggs seemed to go, Vitali stepped of the gas again to give him a little breather , so he could prolong the punishment and humble him , showing the world and the US of A that he rules and their tomato cans they have o offer will be dispatched and disposed of by him and his younger brother . They did that for over a decade . There will never be a pair like that again who rule over a division at the same time and share all the belts between each other . Yet because they were not American or British , they never got the respect or appreciation they deserved .

I don't think so. Vitaly had an unprecedented 27 KO streak, and it was unlikely that he wanted to disrupt it just to punish Briggs. Shanon was tough af, and his corner mean enough not to throw a towel or discontinue the fight. However annoying he was, Briggs stood as a real warrior.

Shannon Briggs got one of the most brutal beatdowns in Boxing History that I've ever seen and I've been a boxing fan for fifty years. Briggs had a good professional record he amassed a professional record of 51-6-1(45 KOs). Briggs is best known for his devastating power and 30 of his 45 knockouts have come in the first round but he didn't have great skills against a good technical fighter like the likes of Vitali Klitschko. or Lennox Lewis, Jameel McCline. I don't think i've ever see anyone in the heavy weight division in quite some time absorb as many shots as Briggs endured that night. Briggs Corner men and boxing Coach did him a huge disservice in this fight they risk his life. Which is beyond stupid in my opinion.

SB was extremely disrespectful to VK prior to the fight. A certain amount of trash talk is generally expected, but I think he took it pretty far. Meanwhile during the onslaught of words, VK just stood there stoically smiling. He left it to the ring to talk with his gloves and not his mouth. SB looked out of shape. He clearly did not prepare for the pace VK set. I think SB thought he was going to bowl through him in the first round. VK took him to school and it was a completely lopsided fight. He pounded SB the whole time. I think SB discovered VK hits HARD! It wasn't even close or really exciting unless you like to see some trash talking big mouth get an ass whoopin. VK wasn't just big. He had real boxing skills and punching power. SB called VK a "pretender" and not a real champion. VK showed the world SB was not on his level. End of story.

Out of Shannon Briggs's 68 PRO fight career = 60-6-1-1, KO's 53 career - Only 8 fights are against legit top opposition on paper worth talking about!
Briggs made a career of fighting journeymen and tomato cans level of opponents.
Only 1 fully legit victory, where Briggs was behind on the score cards and near exhausted managed to stop Siarhei Liakhovich in final 30 seconds in the 12th round for the
    WBO world heavyweight title.
    1. A mega GIFT decision over 49 year old "Big" George Foreman where Foreman won 10 of 12 rounds easily + broke Brigg's nose and yet they robbed the legend.
Briggs ran away from Foreman all night and won 2-3 rounds with a weak margin. That was a disgusting robbery as Briggs made nothing to deserve a victory.
    2. Briggs was knocked-out by Lennox Lewis in 5 rounds.
    3. Francois Botha did the better fight and clearly was snubbed out of a victory with Briggs given a gift draw.
    4. Lost a UD to untested Jameel McCline, a fight Briggs should have won over, but gave up in.
    5. Was out-boxed completely by Sultan Ibragimov as he lost evrey round with larger margins.
    6. Ray Mercer was an old, pale shadow of his warrior self of the 90's to earliest 00's.
    7. Was out-boxed completely by Sultan Ibragimov as he lost evrey round with larger margins and Briggs had near desperate tried to avoid Ibragimov before with false claims
of injury, illness and delaying. Briggs did not want to fight his mandatory WBO challanger.
    8. Was completely and brutally destroyed by Vitali Klitschko and had his entire face demolished, something that made him spent a long time in hospital and requiring several
    surgeries to fix.
BTW; Briggs have 3-times in his career been caught using illegal substances (!)
