Great video. Two other security measures that I've heard of are: 1. Buy a new laptop that you only ever use to interact with your wallet. Don't connect it to anything else or browse any sites other than interacting with Metamask (A touch extreme). 2. Use a program and apps like LastPass and Authy so you have new passwords for every site so you secure your online activity even more from hackers.

After agreeing to the contract on open sea on my ledger live link, the ledger asked me "verify address" and the "verify field 1" and verify field 2 and verify field 3 and 4,5,6,7, and it keeps going. Hey all just letting you know I figured out the problem causing me to verify endless fields on ledger just by experimenting. I had to go to eth wallet on ledger and turn off "debug data: display contract data details" and changed to NOT displayed. My next question is I have SUCCESSFULLY BOUGHT an NFT on my ledger linked to metamask. Now the question is I can not see the NFT in ledger live, but I can see it on my open sea account. Usually I can see my NFT's on my mobile metamask. But can i link my ledger to a mobile metamask app so I can see the NFT's on my ledger? Thanks. Really good. I would say that the fire safe, though, or most fire safes, only protect the contents for 15 or 30 minutes. You could also encrypt your seed phrase, and store it online, and give copies of the de-encryption chart or key to friends or relatives. They wouldn't have access to your seed phrase, and if your house burned, you could still use the key to decrypt your online seed.
if I were to re-do this video today I would recommend multiple seed phrases distributed across trusted relatives trezor.io/shamir/ combined with a gnosis safe that requires 2/4 confirmations or something like that. no single failure point.

Well verifying the recovery seed phrase takes you back to square one. What if you have a malicious key logger sniffing all your key strokes in your system. The seed phrase should never leave the trezor.
Hmm still risky, Ones they have the words, fixing the order would just be a brut force problem. Or may be I'm being extra paranoid. To verify the seed, I would just wipe/reset the Trezor and recover it using recovery words written down.

yes if you originally had the NFTs in another metamask wallet. If you buy the NFT directly with the account tied to the trezor once you set that up then you don’t have to transfer it.
You didn't actually show the NFT coming BACK from the wallet, just a transaction with Ether from that address. How do you actually get the NFT back off the trezor to sell, trade, list?
yes I regret not showing that but you can do this with opensea using the trezor account thru metamask, same way you would transfer sell/list etc except you just double confirm with the trezor

I didn't realise you have to pay gas just to move NFT's from metamask to Ledger. KInd of a bummer if you own 50+ NFT's and having to pay $30 each just to transfer. I haven't gone through with the transaction yet but do you know if that $30 gas fee will cover all my NFT's or just each one individually?

yup I do it all the time. are you checking the trezor itself for any prompts on the screen? not sure what could be wrong maybe reach out to OS support.

hi sorry for the late response but 1) you don't need to pay double gas, it's just one transaction - think of metamask as a dashboard in this case that allows you to better manage the transaction from the trezor. 2) when you go to Opensea it will ask you to login with metamask per usual, in this case you want to log in specifically with the account that is connected to the trezor. then it'll work like a normal metamask profile and you'll see your NFTs and can transfer them from there (although you'll need to confirm transactions with the physical trezor).

If connecting the trezor to MetaMask requires all transfers to be confirmed on the trezor, why do we actually have to send the token itself to trezor as well? Or am I understanding this incorrectly. Thanks so much for the video
If your tokens were originally on metamask first then that means they are not on the hardware wallet as that would be a new address so you would have to send them from the old metamask wallet to the new hardware wallet. If you don't have a metamask or tokens and are starting completely new with a hardware wallet then you would have no tokens to transfer.

I haven't metamask yet but for instance if you save the password for the extention (not the 12 words) on a word file on the pc, is it dangerous??

Isn't better to transfer everything from our Hot metamask to the Cold one (Ledger) instead of keeping them separate?
I transfer all the expensive items to the cold wallet, where that line starts will be different for everyone

I've read on Twitter that someone was hacked of 300k by keeping the seedphase in a notepad on the PC. Don't do that.

it's an erc 721 token? and you're just trying to transfer it to another metamask wallet?

What happens when the display on your trezor breaks? You won't be able to recover your assets anymore? That's what happened to mine...
As long as you have your seedphrase just buy another and you can set it up again

If connecting the trezor to MetaMask requires all transfers to be confirmed on the trezor, why do we actually have to send the token itself to trezor as well? Or am I understanding this incorrectly. Thanks so much for the video
If your tokens were originally on metamask first then that means they are not on the hardware wallet as that would be a new address so you would have to send them from the old metamask wallet to the new hardware wallet. If you don't have a metamask or tokens and are starting completely new with a hardware wallet then you would have no tokens to transfer.
