Great review as usual! Agree that despite being considered 'entry' level whisky, its a potent drop that deserves all the praise. The lack of age statement def makes people think its the 'lesser' bottling, but I have gifted this a few times now and always get great feedback. Its a fantastic bottle, that always goes far too quickly when I crack it open. For all its complexity that you can work through, I find it a cracking dram to watch a film with, that just allows the drinker to kick back and enjoy.
Definitely one of those uncommon "crossover" drams for novice and avid fan alike. Excellent review and thanks for getting around to this one. Cheers All!
Great review! The Classic Laddie is a whisky that's delicious from neck pour to bottom. Even though it's gone up in price a wee bit in my area over the past 2 years it remains a solid value. Of course pretty much all whiskies in my area have gone up in price a fair amount over the past 2 years, so I guess it's just par for the course. This is a NAS I have no problems recommending, especially to experienced whisky drinkers who have yet to give it a try. It's one of those bottles that will always have a home in my whisky cabinet. Sláinte! 🥃
Playing ‘catch-up’ with your reviews and thoroughly enjoy your perspectives. Classic Laddie seems to be underrated and is an excellent whiskey at a seemingly reasonable price at around $60 USD in the Sacramento (California) area. Prices for single malts continue to increase. Keep up the good work!
The Classic Laddie is a great Malt. A little rough, but the flavours for me are great. A solid representation of young single malt. Easy to bring home and enjoy. Cheers!
Its Real Blue Monday Allan. Proper one 😁. I just wish every entry level even Nas be presented at 50% abv NCF/NAC with this quality and price £40+ . Fantastic. Good job Allan. 😁🥃🙋♂️
I have liked Bruichladdich Classic Laddie and Laddie 10, but I have loved every Port Charlotte that I have tried except that PC 12 which was a travel exclusive.. That one was a hot mess...
@thewhiskyfriend :)))Alan, totally agree about Victoriana, it.s fabulous. Regarding Classic laddie, I have to choose from this and Loch lomond 12...which one do you think is better?
Unfortunately in South Africa this is definitely not value for money. It is more expensive than most 12yo single malts. In my opinion it is also really not a great whisky.
@@thewhiskyfriend It costs the equivalent of 52 pounds here. Would you give it those accolades if it cost you 52 pounds? It deserves an 86 for packaging only.

Great review Allan. Nothing to worry about regarding no age statement on the bottle. Classic Laddie is a reliable dram from a great distillery.
I picked a bottle when they first came back into production and fell in love. Solid through and through. Cheers for the review 👍
Although it's NAS, I saw an interview with the new distiller that mentioned it has some 16 YO in it among others. I love the Laddie.

It is a fabulous dram for the money, in no way a simple entry malt.
Totally agree my friend... Cheers

I think its a great dram and very underrated!
You could be right Sandy... Just think there is so much from Bruichladdich... I. E port Charlotte etc.... But its good fella... Cheers
It's my favorite NAS. One of my three go-to whiskies.
Thanks for reviewing Alan.
Despite the wine casks involved, the wine notes luckily are subdued enough that I even love this whisky.
Slàinte mhath
It is an interesting whisky Frank.... Glad you joy it buddy....
Love Bruichladdich, love this dram and love your channel!
Glad your enjoying my friend... Thanks for watching...
Tried it a few times over the years in pubs think I will put it on my list now . Not a morish one but quality stuff.
It's decent however it does vary from batch to batch...but still decent...
Great review. This is probably my favourite scotch, if we set aside peat, Sherry bombs or the excessively expensive.
Fantastic dram from a fantastic distillery. Cheers

Great review Alan. Currently £35 in Tesco! Extremely tempted. Hope you are well pal.
All good here Jez great to here from you and that's a bargain fella.. Cheers
I have been liking these spirit driven malts lately. Love the classic laddie. Need to get my hands on some islay barley and see how they compare.
Check out the port Charlotte islay barley too buddy...
I've always enjoyed The Classic Laddie, though it has been a while since I've had any. Cheers Alan.
I picked up one of these in Tesco last month for £29! There is NO better whisky for £29!!!

Found it in the stash Quig.... I'm all over Port Charlotte my friend... Cheers
So far this is my favorite non peated whisky
This is such a great whisky!!!
Speaking of NAS, do you find Classic laddie better than Victoriana?
Oh no no no.... Victoriana is the best NAS on the planet my friend... Laddie is the best value NAS... Currently £35 at tesco....
@thewhiskyfriend :)))Alan, totally agree about Victoriana, it.s fabulous. Regarding Classic laddie, I have to choose from this and Loch lomond 12...which one do you think is better?
Solid malt this!👍
Gotta love the Laddie
Been so long, but nice to have found it once more my friend... Cheers
@@thewhiskyfriend It’s one of the few bottles (along with Bunna 12 & Cotswolds) that I’ll buy from my local Waitrose.
for me 1 - glen scotia victoriana 2 ardbeg uigeadail 3 arran morchie mor cask strength
Can't argue with any of those choices my friend... Cheers buddy
@@thewhiskyfriend next year hope will try KILCHOMAN LOCH GORM expected more from Longrow Peated ( tell true didnt like it )
Really hope the price of this wouldnt spike like Macallan
The neck pour on this was awful, weeks later it has opened up and delicious!
