Man, they don't make battery replacements easy. So many fragile parts that can accidentally break or rip.
Still, thanks for the demonstration. My 550 still works fine, but it's holding a charge for shorter and shorter periods of time.

this is pretty easy compared to how battery replacements can be in modern electronics....

    • @PTNLemay

@@rokiedecentra9656 it's the glue that worries me. And I feel like putting an antenna on top of the battery you need to replace is intentionally making it difficult.
Incidentally, my 550s have now fully lost their ability to hold a charge. So this is even more relevant. lol

@@PTNLemay you can try some alcohol to soak the glue and let it sit for a minute, works on most to weaken it. I never knew about the coil... It is for NFC so if you damage it your headphones will still work
I never found NFC pairing any better and the 2 device connectivity covers the need for it

Thanks, your video showed me how to open up the headphones; I wanted to check the battery but it turned out I needed to fix another issue: the magnet being loose/missing in the switch in the ear cup joint.

you can replace the cell salvaged from another good quality battery and re-use the BMS board if you can't find a replacement battery

    Thank you dude!
This has been very insightful and gets me excited to try this even though I'm new to electrical engineer work.
    Questions:
    1)
The link you provided for the battery does not seem to have a connector/pin header. Is it possible to detach the connector/pin header from the old battery's wires and attached to the new battery's wires without having to solder them on? The video did not show this step though you did mention something about soldering.
    2) You mentioned taping the antenna on the battery. Would you please clarify this step a little more? I'm not sure if you were using adhesive here or not to stick the antenna on the new battery.
I would love to hear your thoughts!

I replaced batteries using this tutorial.
When u remove the antenna, it has some residue glue enough to stick it on the new battery.
I also removed the orangish sticker from the back of old battery. This orange sticker also had some residue glue, which I used to stick the new battery.

Thank you! I just replaced my Battery today!
Just a note - the antenna is still sticky so that was easy to place on the new battery. However, to glue the new battery with antenna back on the plastic I just used scotch tape - it seems to be ok since it secured.
In case Its not - what kind of glue do you recommend for this?

  • @anthonymadhvani5593

Would the glue dissolve using regular iso alcohol? I'd rather not bend and prod at a battery, let alone using a heat gun on one

I have same headphones , they were working fine, place them on the charger. Picked back up for use now they don't work. They seem unresponsive. Plug them back onto charger and the battery indicators says full. Turn them on and off with no hole mode button and nothing at all. Any ideas ?

if you're using an iphone, sometime it doesn't display the battery percentage correctly but the Sennheiser app does, try using the app to see if it displays the correct battery percentage
