My Corsair Void Pro Wireless RGB head set died on me all of the sudden. I bought it refurbished 8 months ago paying only $50 on amazon. I finally received my new battery :) I didn't find the mentioned larger 3-Pin version anymore, only with original dimension. So I went for a (nominal) 1800mAh 604050 lipo. It PERFECTLY FITS into the black plastic retention bracket. The part with the resistor works, too. I took 9,6k from the scrap. Re-assembling the right side works best when you take both half-shells in one hand and move the ear-side part with your thumb until the screw-holes overlap. When doing it like in the video, it might mistakenly feel like there is something stuck in between.
Just dropped in to say thanks as I've now replaced my failing headset battery. Mine wouldn't even last 5mins before crapping out. Have to say the state of the battery when I removed mine was shocking, never seen something so bad.
I used a 2400mAh 104050 with 2 cable. My technician reused the charger controller from the original since the workload almost the same as resoldering the socket and adding resistor to the 2 wire charger controller. A bit tight and left with a bit of gap after taking away the plastic protector. The sponge rubber were all obliterated, so I used velcro with the fabric stiched to the sponge fabric (or whatever left of it) and the male velcro glued using power glue. At this point I do not care about look, just to make it functional. I played games for 6 hours and it still have 82% ( I have not recharge it full since been charging it for 4 hours but still not full yet). After that I left it charged for 5 hours and it finally show full. After this I will not leave it overnight due to afraid it would puff and broke the housing.
Thanks matte for measuring and help with finding alternative battery for headphones. After 3 years my battery is dead (I hope it is battery :-)). So I will order the same one as you.
Awesome job! Very entertaining. I loved that headset as well and when I attempted what you did, I botched my headset and had to buy a pair of Corsair HS70s (Which are also great aside from the atrocious peeeeee-yu leather) Cheers
great video!! i just replaced my battery. But while i replaced the battery the speaker came undone. Now the right side does' nt work. Any tip on how to reconnect is?
Your videos are very helpful! I have a Logitech G533 headset and the batteries are dead. I only have access to 2 wire Lipo batteries, how exactly do I wire the resistor to the battery for it to work? Appreciate your help!
Quick tip, if you only have a jewelers screw driver for little screws like these on any project take a long strip of duct tape and wrap around the handle of screw driver until it's thick as hell then it's easy.
my corsair headphones have to have a charger all the time every time I plug the charger out then it switches of also it makes random noises if I move slightly is the battery or is the USB charger it isn't the same one that was given to me? Thank you
Fantastic walk-through but I have a question about the tools used. Can you share the model/part number of your mini heat gun? The heat gun I have is for much bigger work and not conducive to work like this. Thanks.
I appreciate this video. I think i'm about to replace my Void Pro battery. I took it out and its not swollen, but it doesn't appear to be holding its charge very long. Thanks for the information.
You didn’t get the 504050 1500mah battery you were talking about? Aren’t both batteries you ordered 803450? Would the 504050 one have fit inside the plastic bracket?
Thankyou very much for your most informative lesson :) New battery installed all fine. First time didnt work cos noob me had a dry joint or for whatever reason red wire wasnt making contact. /bow
Bought a two wire 803450 in error but I managed to remove the mini board from the old battery and attach to the new battery, now three wires are connected and works fine
I got the same problem, bought a two wire and have no idea what to to next, can you show me how could you remove the board from the 3 wire and attach it to the 2 wire?!
This video helped me a great deal. Thank you. A question tho, after changing battery, did the percentage indicator on iCue software reflect the new one? Mine seems like the percentage drains just as like the old battery.
Mine seems to work okay, although I don't run iCue in the background, so couldn't really say for sure. I've seen mixed results in the comments with some people having Meh results and some people having brilliant results - so I think your mileage may vary. There's always a possibility that the lipo cell you buy is a duff one, or just not very good, but thankfully they're cheap enough that if it really doesn't work, you can try a different one.
so i see its been 3, nearly 4 years, since this upgrade. not sure if you have these headphones anymore but im curious. Did the upgrade last long term? i mean, did you have any issues down the road from the upgrade that caused the headset to stop working all together? did the other components handle the increase in power? also, did you notice an increase of heat, since it was a bigger battery? Id like to do this upgrade on my Void Pro SE Headset, bcuz you're correct, these things are super comfy. thanks @Adamant IT
Still going strong 👌 I'm more likely to replace the headset for the sake of having something newer and more modern at this point. Although last year I replaced the ear cups as well, which really helped with lasting comfort.
Idk how old are your void pro, but mine are like 2-3 years, it's the same version as you have but in yellow. The point is, how do you manage to have in that condition the earpads? The """leather""" of mine is completly peeled. I have been trying to buy a new pair (not the official one bc 10$ for two earpads seems fine, but 10$ earpad + 10$ postage it's too much), and I haven't found the right size ones, all of the chinesse ones are too small.
Hey great video! I can’t find 3pin lipo in my country, can you tell me how to insert 10k resistance to 2 pin battery. Also some people says that i should remove the 3 pin connector board from the original battery and place it to new battery. What should i do? Thanks.
My headset displays all the symptoms of a worn out battery, but I opened my headset up and the battery isn't "swollen" at all. Is there still a point in ordering a replacement battery, or is there something else fishy going on? Thanks
Hi! I have a little problem. The software iCUE, doesnt recognize the battery. In the battery section it appears "Not avaible". It's work but i dont have a way to see how much battery i have.
H'mm... Looks like mine's the same, I hadn't noticed because I don't run iCUE in the background - I set it up and then close it. I'm not sure why this happens... iCUE has no way of knowing what battery is fitted. Low battery alarms still work though, so personally I just live with it.
Same happened to mine, I also lost mic mute control as well as the voice that came with it. They won't charge at all. I wonder if there is some sort of handshake the old battery did in the firmware.
Instead of cutting the wires, i soldered the cables directly on the Protection Circuit (PCB). It is even possible to unsolder the protection circuit from the LiPo battery and attach it to the new battery. (be very careful, avoid short circuits) But be aware, that handling LiPo batteries is always a risk (danger of fire or explosion), you need to know what you are doing.
Bad advice regarding the thermostat - it will regulate charging, based on battery temperature. Also, depending on the plug, you may have been able to either remove the pins from the plug and attach the new battery without solder and heatshrink.
I used two 1000mah batteries that don't have the white communication wire, so therefore i cannot see the battery level and they probably won't shut down with low battery (maybe damaging the battery?), do i need to swap bms from the old battery onto the new one?
I guess there isn't room for an 18650 cell in those? I replaced the original battery in my H2100 headset with one of those, a few years on I can still use them for a couple of hours every evening for more than a week. The original battery in those were mounted in a similar "cage" as yours.
Never ended up ordering a battery here but looking around atm just remembering it again, think a logitech g900 replacement battery would work ? 51.30 x 33.80 x 6.60 mm measurements 1000 mah which is fine imo but not 100% sure what the plugsize is yet on the g900.
awesome video!!! thank you for this! have the same issue atm. my battery survived for 2 years but now it dies pretty fast in about 3-4h.. i was always careful to not use rgb and always wait until its fully dies and then charge it fully and never leave the cable in when its charged... but i guess batteries are not forever! :P
@@Adamant_IT well took about this much time to get a new battery lol... couldnt order it from ebay from where i live sadly. i just installed it and i was wondering should i charge it the same way as if the headset would be new (overnight kinda) or should i just go about until its fully charged (indicated by the green light). would it matter with a replacement battery? you know like first time charge?
On the right side headphone I pulled off the 2 wires connecting the inner right side to the main battery. I know I need to connect them back, but they had a glue like adhesive holding them on. Is this a type of conductive glue I need, or can I solder the wires.
I have this headset, and unfortunately I was adjusting the mic arm from the inside and the driver cables both got torn out... I'm not sure how to and even if it is possible to reconnect those cables but I would appreciate any tips for advice.
I'm using a temporary 606090 which I of coursed wired externally using the 10k resistor mod to the thermistor, and after doing this, I'm getting a hiss on the right ear, and I'm thinking this might be because of the wiring I'm using or maybe the 10k resistor is inducing this noise... Any solution?
My screws are too tight, you took them out so easily, any pointers on how to remove them? Mine are really really REALLY tight, i hurt both of my hand trying to remove them, but still couldn't get them. I already used many types of tools, some were like the one you used on your video, others were smaller.
Prices for the batteries have changed now about £20+ for the 1000 battery, but I've found the cheapest on Amazon for £15 next day delivery Update: 10.01.21 - Battery arrived and I followed this video but bought a 1000mAh battery because just didnt want to mess around with the headset, the wires in the battery compartment are really tiny and thin especially the 2 connected to the speaker, so if you do it yourself becareful when taken the plastic away from the ear piece. But before I screwed it all back up tested to make sure it charges and it did so great cheap fix and the original was serious puffy as well but had lasted 2 nearly 3 years
Yeah they more expensive for me too. I don’t know why all in euro but shipped from china to Australia. Plus postage is like $20 euro which is a bit much. But I think I see some for about $14 but I need one with thermal connection and plug don’t want to solder
pretty old i know, but in case you see this...how do i wire the 10k resistor in? i tried from the white line in the plug in the headphones, to the 10k resistor, then off to the ground coming off the battery. the headset is acting weird still, lots of weird flashes on the LED. im not sure if its working properly.
So I did this and it works perfectly and the battery lasted so much longer than my old one did. However, after the charge died, it no longer recharges and I can only use my headset when its plugged in. Any ideas?
Your video helped me a lot for 2 years when I changed the battery !! I bought it in 2016. Maybe you can help me now ?! I accidentally dropped it on the floor last week (I forgot I had it on my head because it's so comfortable) and now it only works on the left side! I've opened it on the right and everything's plugged in, so what could be wrong? coil? magnet? I can't imagine a cable breaking during a fall. If you can help me that would be awesome ! Because it is charging I see the RGB on the right ... just no sound :(
Man the quality of this video is great. Is there any risk of using too thick of a battery and it exploding because it is too tight against the plastic frame?
It won't explode, but the ear piece won't screw back together properly - you'll break the screw holes trying to tighten it up if the cell is too thick.
16:21 anyone knows what is the black "thing" with the panel circuit? My friend had a problem with that and that take off. He has no sound on that side of the headset.
this happened to me to, I swapped the battery and now the right side of my headset doesnt work. it doesnt appear that any wires are separated, so im confused, @Adamant IT help!!
Just got one of these headsets free from a friend of mine he complained on the battery being bad on it & went with a wired headset instead. I might take the battery out entirely if it doesn't seem too last anywhere close too at least 2 hours, gonna let it charge over night as i had too take off the earmuffs & cleaned them out first with dishsoap & hot water, it ended up removing some of the fake leather but id rather have a clean headset on my head a bit later then putting them on my head tonight. Extend the wires & make a hole too put the battery on the outside, maybe a 18650 cell might work for that, though i do have a few 3 wire batteries that are from an old 10 inch tablet laying around i think.
hey i'm trying to buy a battery but since i don't solder I'm buying a batter with the plug but i don't know what size plug it should be. there are options for 1mm/1.25mm/1.5mm/2mm/2.54mm , do you know which one? Thanks!!

Thanks a lot for the great video! I started changing my battery, but by accident ripped off the speaker from the headset. The connection broke apart where the chp was glued to it, ,so the wires that are going to the chip are ok, but the connection between the chip and the speaker itself is broken. There is a little black glue/dot which is where it broke off. Do you think this is repairable and if so, what would you suggest to do? Sorry for the incompetence, just an amateur trying to fix his headphones :)

Hi dude how did you do that with the resistor?
Hola, en mi país solo encuentro igual la batería de 2 cables, me puedes ayudar?
Thanks matte for measuring and help with finding alternative battery for headphones. After 3 years my battery is dead (I hope it is battery :-)). So I will order the same one as you.
Awesome job! Very entertaining. I loved that headset as well and when I attempted what you did, I botched my headset and had to buy a pair of Corsair HS70s (Which are also great aside from the atrocious peeeeee-yu leather) Cheers
My battery starts beeping as soon as I take the charging cable out, I am going to take a look at replacing it, so thanks for this video.
great video!! i just replaced my battery. But while i replaced the battery the speaker came undone. Now the right side does'
nt work. Any tip on how to reconnect is?
Your videos are very helpful! I have a Logitech G533 headset and the batteries are dead. I only have access to 2 wire Lipo batteries, how exactly do I wire the resistor to the battery for it to work? Appreciate your help!
Would this be the same disassembly and battery for the Corsair VOID PRO RGB Wireless?
Yes, I did it with Wireless pro version. Everything ok at the moment.
Thanks.
Is the white wire necessary? In my country I can only get with 2 red and black wires, i speak spanish sry for my bad english..
There's always a possibility that the lipo cell you buy is a duff one, or just not very good, but thankfully they're cheap enough that if it really doesn't work, you can try a different one.
did you ever sort this out? I replaced the battery, but the percentage drains just as fast as before
Out of curious, what is that 3 pins JST connector called exacly? I need it for a similar project but can't find the part needed.
Got yourself a new sub here, great content. Just the way I like it
so i see its been 3, nearly 4 years, since this upgrade. not sure if you have these headphones anymore but im curious. Did the upgrade last long term? i mean, did you have any issues down the road from the upgrade that caused the headset to stop working all together? did the other components handle the increase in power? also, did you notice an increase of heat, since it was a bigger battery? Id like to do this upgrade on my Void Pro SE Headset, bcuz you're correct, these things are super comfy. thanks @Adamant IT
Still going strong 👌
I'm more likely to replace the headset for the sake of having something newer and more modern at this point.
Very well explained! Worked perfectly for me. Thanks a lot :)
Thx for the video!
Do you know if the Corsair Void Pro version is the same battery?
Hey great video! I can’t find 3pin lipo in my country, can you tell me how to insert 10k resistance to 2 pin battery. Also some people says that i should remove the 3 pin connector board from the original battery and place it to new battery. What should i do? Thanks.
were you able to figure it out? I've got the same issues as you
Thanks for this! Just did mine, the battery was insanely puffed up, over double in size.
I wonder if there is some sort of handshake the old battery did in the firmware.
are you not worried about that thicker cell you bought also puffing up but this time it wont have enough space?
Instead of cutting the wires, i soldered the cables directly on the Protection Circuit (PCB). It is even possible to unsolder the protection circuit from the LiPo battery and attach it to the new battery. (be very careful, avoid short circuits) But be aware, that handling LiPo batteries is always a risk (danger of fire or explosion), you need to know what you are doing.
Does the kind of tape you use to hold in the battery matter? Or just any kind of double sided will do?
Hi great video but you don't mention the 3-pin size - on ebay they have 1mm, 1.25mm, 1.5mm and so on, do you know which one we should be looking at?
Hey, thanks for the video. Do you think that a battery with 50x40x4mm will fit?
Bad advice regarding the thermostat - it will regulate charging, based on battery temperature. Also, depending on the plug, you may have been able to either remove the pins from the plug and attach the new battery without solder and heatshrink.
can i use one li-ion battery like the default? its cheaper than lipo in brazil :/
What happens if you add a larger cell, and that puffs up, too? Will that cause damage to the unit or the wearer?
Just remove the old pcb from the dead battery and put it on the new battery. Very useful video i have just received my headset.
That's why I prefer wired everything and no LEDs. Better sound quality and no BS inside.
Any solution?
thanks! my 3yeard void pro is not working well because of battery issue. I will try here. thanks for kind info about everything I should buy.
My screws are too tight, you took them out so easily, any pointers on how to remove them? Mine are really really REALLY tight, i hurt both of my hand trying to remove them, but still couldn't get them. I already used many types of tools, some were like the one you used on your video, others were smaller.
in the UK. i just did this and it worked juist fine. Thanks
Prices for the batteries have changed now about £20+ for the 1000 battery, but I've found the cheapest on Amazon for £15 next day delivery
Update: 10.01.21 - Battery arrived and I followed this video but bought a 1000mAh battery because just didnt want to mess around with the headset, the wires in the battery compartment are really tiny and thin especially the 2 connected to the speaker, so if you do it yourself becareful when taken the plastic away from the ear piece.
But I think I see some for about $14 but I need one with thermal connection and plug don’t want to solder
pretty old i know, but in case you see this...how do i wire the 10k resistor in? i tried from the white line in the plug in the headphones, to the 10k resistor, then off to the ground coming off the battery. the headset is acting weird still, lots of weird flashes on the LED. im not sure if its working properly.
superb video i have gone from an hour or less to 4 days on and off, thanks
Because it is charging I see the RGB on the right ... just no sound :(
My Batterie has 3.6V, The LED is dark and the headset is dead. Do you have a hint for me about what can be defective, and if a repair is senseful?
Extend the wires & make a hole too put the battery on the outside, maybe a 18650 cell might work for that, though i do have a few 3 wire batteries that are from an old 10 inch tablet laying around i think.
do you think this is the same battery used for HS80?
hey i'm trying to buy a battery but since i don't solder I'm buying a batter with the plug but i don't know what size plug it should be. there are options for 1mm/1.25mm/1.5mm/2mm/2.54mm , do you know which one? Thanks!!
Thanks for making this video. I had a similar problem except my headphones only last about 4 to 5 hours. Since I live stream that was annoying. Ordered the 50x40x50.
Here is a link to the battery I ordered. www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/0.html?spm=a2g0s.9042647.6.2.1f894c4d3NCUeL&orderId=104899357111126&productId=32833362713
my headphones only ever last 4-5 minutes :(
just fixed my steelseries sensei raw had for 7 years cord broke cut off bad part patched it back in and bam! now that im on a roll! this is next. mouse works fine headset is next on the list. fixed 360 controller last week. spring fixing.
It should be possible to solder them back on, but you may need help from someone who has experience with soldering already.
hey i did the same thing by accident were you able to fix them at all?
I know I am late, but I just recieved a 2000mAh 103450 and I plugged it in, but I doesn't charge and I don't get any feedback whatsoever, did you guys have to do something else than plugging it in?
Three weeks later and the same sweater ???
Nice upgrade btw.
@@Adamant_IT Lies, you time traveled :P
Thanks, this helped me remove a bulging battery.
Do you have to worry about a thicker battery puffing up over time? Would that cause an issue with it already being a snug fit?
@@Adamant_IT Awesome thank you. I'm looking for a replacement for my corsair currently. Can't seem to find the one you recommended in your video. I'm sure I'll find something similar and give it a go.
My old battery was puff up like a balloon, almost to the point of breaking the plastic retaining cover plate. The replacement battery came from Amazon.
Thanks for this great video. I saw as you opened the mic attachment. My void wireless headset's microphone arm does not hold it's place anymore. It's either all the way up for mute or if i slightly move it forward it falls all the way down. Any idea how to bring the tension back into it?
Hard to say without taking a look... it sounds like something is sitting correctly, and it needs re-assembling again.
@@Adamant_IT I'll pull it apart soon and take a look. The upgraded battery life looks like a fun project of it's own too lol.
Thank you for this video. I was about to buy new ones until I decided to look for help (I even have loads of solder experience, why wouldn't I?) I do like these headsets, comfort, sound. But man, I'm sure they built these with crap batteries that go out right after the warranty is up. Cheers!
hello my friend i have corsair virtuoso and baterry is dead!!is it the same with void to change the battery?and if yes what battery i must buy?
