- James May has finally had enough of Lucy Brown's inability to cook. This week he's taken matters into his own hands and decided to try and teach her one of the recipes from his cookbook over Zoom.

James had some powerful patient dad energy here. Very wholesome.
He’s dealt with Clarkson, so he has to be somewhat patient
He doesn't have children, but younger people are always pouring into the film industry so that seems up to make up for it. He really embraces social media out of all 3 of the grand tour cast.
More grandad than dad
The use of the word wholesome in every comments section i read at the moment is not wholesome it has become creepy!
Yes although I don't think I would want to test his patience. 😂
I love how her mind is racing so she doesn’t mess up in front of James and meanwhile James is just smoking a pipe! 😂
@@76_SPZL How can anyone not like cheese, and she grow up in France, what curds trauma did the french do to the poor gal.
@@Senyrar something truly awful I bet.

Isn't that the porsch pipe from top gear
@@honchosponchos9204 Porsche* and I believe so

James smurfing*
I think he needs to embrace his abilities
@Orion V let me answer that for you none
I think hes just a very humble man... Which is 100 percent my kind of guy
James May and a pipe just go so well together
They really do.
As was foretold years ago on Top Gear. They all had pipes in one news segment in 2007.
@@Harmon1ca It even looks like it's the same Porsche Design pipe that he had in that Top Gear segment!
I think we need a video on how James goes about packing and lighting his pipe, along with pipe maintenance ect.
Jezza: Hot end goes in the back... Thats not gone well
"Smash it in your face and eat it."
"It's too hot."
"EAT IT!"
Exactly
If your gonna put quotation marks at least put the right quotes
"I just burned my mouth so badly"
don't just stare at it, EAT IT!
That tone in James' voice at the end when he was suggesting they all do it together sounded so much of genuine yearning. I think someone misses his crew!! Very enjoyable watch!
yep he seems like he really misses doing videos with everyone
The tone in James voice when the cat came over :) True cat person.
Also a lot of purring from said cat a little later in the video.
This is literally more interesting than the new Top Gear .
So is watching paint dry. I bet james could make that interesting.
Because it's totally bereft of macho chips (Apologies to Nacho Chips)
Your using literally totally out of context , it’s an incredibly annoying modern phenomenon
Paul Fellows
Your literally correct
Paul Fellows
This is more interesting than watching top gear
Title should be: James May smoking pipe for 21 mins
I would watch that.
a Porsche Design pipe
Still would have clicked and watched the whole thing.
I disagree. That title would not be sufficient to explain what’s happening in the video, or it’s purpose. His pipe smoking was just a small portion of the whole video. He never talked about it nor was there any explanation on pipe smoking in general. The video is predominantly about the girl making one of James’ recipes. James wasn’t even smoking for the whole video never mind 21 minutes. Your comment is just confusing.
@@sstills951 relax. It's just for fun
James May is like the nations favourite uncle.
As an American, he's my favorite uncle, too. I just love him. 🖤
PetTribe with James May and his cat... I'd watch that all day long.
😆😂
Could combine FoodTribe a la 'Cooking with Dog' or 'Jun's Kitchen'
Kiki and Tombo over James shoulders just makes me smile.
Still my favourite Studio Ghibli film.
Yay. Somebody else noticed it
Yeeeeh
I noticed it, but couldnt place it.
Just tells me he has the best of taste
This feels like the daughter calling her dad from college cuz she's tired of eating instant noodles 🤣🤣
they’re not related
The more I watch these the more I realize how much James is as wonderful a person in real life as he is in TV... And that Lucy genuinely doesn't have a clue how adorable she is.
Oh!...you are so right!
5:25 I love that James knows about the Spongebob time cards
The interaction between Lucy and James is the best part of this video. Lucy's charming, and James is so very patient.
I love how Lucy is so salty and willing to give it right back to James.
Getting some nice father/daughter teaching vibes 🤗
James May, cat, smoking pipe, teaching cooking. Literally the best combo
Remove the pipe. Smoking of any kind isn't cool.
I really like James and Lucy's interactions. Two very capable people (when on their subjects, but with zero stigma about admitting they dont know, when dealing with something else.
You know Lucy is the professional videographer when you see that lighting setup.
me: "man, Lucy Brown always sounds so miserable."
lucy: "I grew up in France.."
me: "Ah, explains it then."
James stroking his cat like Blofeld
I've never seen a pipe suit a man more than james
He is the man who discovered the source of the Nile indeed. Who would wear a pipe better than a man who is discovered the source of the Nile.
Yes, but what's in it?
Not to say it dodesn't suit James May, but Stephen Fry won an award for pipe smoking, haha
DLT lol

I think it has more to do with everyone in the production office is working from home, and Lucy is keeping everyone on task
Lucy Brown is a natural on camera. It's just refreshingly honest and quite relaxing to see her learning this dish. There was a definite sense of accomplishment in her reaction at then end. As James May noticed, Lucy kept eating without being prompted, a sure sign of success when cooking. Well done to both of you!
Adorable isn't she....? She really needs to make vids with them three old buffoons and create some new chemistry... And a place for her to take over
She's adorable next to an ancient codger like this.
This was like my dad trying to teach me anything when I was a kid, and now it's like me trying to teach him modern stuff xD
Remember kids, don't be mimsy with it.
She *was* stirring it pretty namby-pamby.
Love these two together, Lucy is so likeable and James is just James
There's some kind of delightful father/daughter thing going on here. It's kinda cute
The camera placements and editing were spot on, Lucy! Fantastic video, and lovely kitchen!
16:30 The look of a teenager waiting for instructions 😅
Congrats to James for the tutorial over a video call. Lucy did an amazing job for a first attempt and also being a novice when it comes to cooking. Well done Lucy :)
Lucy's kitchen is amazing
*parents kitchen
This just proves anything with James May in it is as wholesome as a sugar sandwich. And thankfully Rachel wasn't advertising anything... Actually let's get May to do the product plugs. Maybe he'll take it apart and put it back together...
Like 'My new book'?
A Bic Clive collaboration would get you that effect.
The Hammer Of Knowledge is always a bit of a treat when used to dismantle electronics.
That said he's probably a bit dry for here.
That crisp n dry bottle was so predominant it was predominant.
The reassembler was and is my calming series, I would love to have a season 2.
As seen on tv,had a laugh there
I think even if done in person this is best suited with James sitting down with a pipe and / or a drink a giving instructions from a far as this format is brilliant
For someone who doesn't enjoy cooking, Lucy has a rather lovely, well appointed kitchen . Knife collection is rather impressive,
All hail Lucy Brown, leader of FoodTribe
How hard is her job, making the video painful to watch 🙄🙄🙄🙄
The low key chaos in this was priceless
I can't believe that Bim had to explain to Lucy how to actually eat!!!!
Guess what Bim?

I've seen Master Chef judges eat chapatis the wrong way. (Not like there's any perfect way but how James explains it is the most authentic Indian one. )

This was great. I love that James and Lucy worked together. His laugh is so contagious.
Feels like there is a deep bond between these two, almost a father/daughter vibe.
I fell like time stood still during this cooking show.
Of course it could just be that I was watching the clock on Lucy’s kitchen wall.
Nice to see Lucy smiling
Is no one going to talk about how James has a photo of some characters from a studio ghibli film? Is James a fan of anime?

"When lockdown ends one glorious day". I officially love you,James May.
Lucy, Rachel, James, Mike and the rest are awesome. I love learning from FoodTribe. Can’t wait for more.
James May with a pipe is the most James May thing I’ve ever seen
Lucy is the most enthusiastic person I’ve ever seen, such a huge personality
Lol 😂
Truly an inspiration for all young people to look up to.
Yep her enthusiasm is boundless, I always feel inspired after watching her
The best part of this is just watching James giving commands whyle smoking a pipe
well done Lucy, love the kitchen.........old father James, very scholarly with the pipe and gestures :)
that proud look at the end, so wholesome
I was about to make a joke about the Porsche Design pipe Top Gear episode, but then I actually looked up James' pipe. It is, in fact, a Porsche Design pipe. What a legend. :)
this is a hilarious format, i could watch a hundred of these
Crickey it’s the chef
James May makes being an intellectual cool and chill.
James his cat purring made my day 🐈 🐈⬛ 😹
Well done Lucy. Gives me confidence that I can also. I guess I’ll have to go buy the book.
Do it, its a brilliant book
Fun fact: James' cat isn't striped pink and purple!
That was just lovely. My heart is happy for having watched this. Cooking is such a relational activity. There has to be a certain amount of trust, and you need communication with a large smattering of grace for each other when cooking and teaching collide. Covid has gotten us all stressed out and isolated. But it's great to see the internet being used for making a more human connection then just news or mindless entertainment.
Miles better than any television programming
I can literally watch James May do just about anything while he waffles to his satisfaction.
same. he can do anything and I would be completely happy and at peace.
I wonder where James got that lovely picture of the child drowning in blood with his eyes being poked
I must say that James, already highly esteemed by me, has risen several more notches due to his reactions to the cat breaking into the video.
She's adorable. Lovely upload!
I found myself yelling at the screen to take it off the burner after complaining that it was hot multiple times...not rocket science lol
More Lucy! Love the chemistry
11:35 I've seen this video multiple times over the years, but I've only just noticed... THAT'S THE PORSCHE PIPE THEY HAD ON TOP GEAR!!! That's brilliant
James may reminds me of my dad so much. Haven't seen my dad in a couple of years but every video always reminds me to call him.
Common sense: blow on the food until it's cool enough to eat. I suppose the pressure of cooking on camera built up to the point where common sense flew out the window. LOL
We want more of this James, I’m gonna make this tonight. Keep up the great work!!
You've got to love this 'father/daughter' like relationship.
When she shows the bread to the camera and asks: "Now what?" Very funny 😄
Aww bless her i say she did brilliantly! 💖
smoking a pipe in front of his framed kikis delivery service picture with a cat is a lifestyle i could only hope to have
These Lucy videos are honestly the best, keep goin!! 🎉🥳

I'd definitely get James's book its absolutely magnificent

Thanks for an insight into your lives.
Very enjoyable and appreciated.
Kind regards from Dublin.
Lucy Brown and James are amazing together.
Can we get more Lucy cooking videos? I like this format, I reckon that it’s better for learning to watch this while reading the book.
James watch Kiki's Delivery Service lol nice
Excellent movie
Love the film! has a lot of great charm and great story about coming of age and questions about work and life balance. Since james may loves planes, i bet he likes Porco Rosso
@@volgg a fair assumption
If you like that Kiki's Delivery Service, they "filmed" it (or rather drew it) based on Visby on Gotland in the middle of the Baltic Sea. It's northern Europe's most intact medieval city and walking through it, you almost expect so see Kiki flying above you.
I love how long it all took but the clock didn’t change time 🤣🤣
My favorite part of the video was Jame's sound effects of showing Lucy how to stir the flour and oil.....LOL!

I swear, James May and Lucy Brown are the two coolest people on RUclips.

an homage to Pulp Fiction maybe?
all the clocks had the same time, or hadnt you noticed that. age is irrelevant with homages
same here- never understood the comparison to kubrick who is in a different universe in relation to him
Best FoodTribe video so far, I think!
The filming/lighting/framing was top tier!
These are delightful. I would pay a subscription fee to the Lucy and James streaming service that should totally exist.
Why
It's just a worse arrangement than being able to access it al for free on RUclips
Why would you ever want that instead of what we already have?

James is so OCD but yet when Lucy tries to get things exact (measurements, etc)-which I greatly admire!!-he keeps saying to her “Lucy, nothing is that exact!” C’mon man you’re the king of OCD, let her be !!
