This is good, Hannah, very, very good! You explain the "crunch" - in a truly clear and simplified fashion - of "what will work". Awesome job!

Aww thanks so much, Frank! I'm so glad you enjoyed this one -- it was one of those where the video idea showed up in my brain late in the evening and I had to race to my computer to get it all written out so I wouldn't forget later haha.

Hi Sebastien! Thank you so much -- I'm very happy to hear you've discovered a love for fiddle! My studio membership is all in English, so it depends on how comfortable you would be learning off of the videos there! (Je parle un peu de Français mais je suis une étudiante est ne maîtrise pas le français.) You are more than welcome to give the membership a try and we can see if it's a good fit :)

I find just listening to the piece of music. it will tell you how to play it in a sense. Irish music is about flowing it's not overly staccato. With that being said cut bowing and chopping etc are a form of staccato. Follow your ear I say.

You have a lovely way about you. I very much doubt that you need Meredith Fineman's book! I couldn't help but notice it on the shelf!

This is really interesting, thanks. I am suprised that you don't mention bowing though. Isnt that a really important aspect of it?

Oh bowing for sure! I don't remember why I left it out here, but probably since I talk about it in just about every other video I was giving it a break. Who knows though 😂
