I really liked JCP's pricing system last year. Because it was simple. And no nasty .99 price tags. It was only in simple, easy to understand whole numbers. Now they reverted it back and I'm sad. :(
I miss this JCPenney. There wasn’t a constant hunt for coupons, sales, rewards, discounts, etc. Instead of $34.99 for shirt, taking 50% off plus an additional 15% with a coupon, for a total of $15.39 plus tax, it was just $15 to begin with. I understand why they stopped doing it, I just don’t understand how stupid we have to be as Americans not to be able to do the math. Still, JCP > Kohl’s.
So....JCPenneys has been closed, like completely shut the fuck down in my town. I still see ads for it, just now came across these gems of ads 🤣 and I live 30 miles away from the ORIGINAL the FIRST JCPenney. And they still decided to shut it down. I'm not a business lady by any means but wtf happened?! Was it a result of finding they could do better online...? Are there ANY physical stores still open...? Or are they just another website to browse and order clothes that you may or may not have to send back because they don't fit from looking at a picture and clicking your size??
Go Safe things and go A groups. And go good company's. And go Smart things and Smart Machines. Go good things and VHS and go good computers. And go Kodak's and go Fuji and go Polaroid. And go Zeniths and Sony and Technics and go great film.crews and go G & E. And go Casio and Panasonic And good logs and desks and files and notepads.
Well, it turns out that retail without trickery and games doesn't work. Penney's went back to .99 pricing, coupons, and sales. Kind of makes this ad campaign look foolish, doesn't it?
My son was in the commercial when he was five years old .
He passed away on October 7,2022 before his 14th birthday.
😢 unforgettable memories
I’m so sorry for your loss
Ellen DeGeneres' Roman toga costume reminds me of the Columbia Pictures torch lady.
Ellen you always ROCK!!!
Hmm....

I love Ellen. She's so sweet and kind
Oh dear...
😬
I assume you are being sarcastic !?
Haha
@2:37 ...clear as day, "6-6-6" yay Ellen!!
These adverts are amazing. I thought American adverts were dumb!
my favorite Ellen 😀❤😘
My favorite in the last commercial! I think Ellen looks good with get hair like that in black and white.
The strategy was a wise one, too bad people still want to play the .99 game as if it means some kind of savings.
she looks gorgeous
2:36 look at the sign...
666 ...???
Penny's policy didn't work out :(
Great commercials, very funny, too bad that they didn't stick with this strategy.
I like this show

JC Penney lost many millions of dollars since Ellen.....LOL!
Wasn't that the lady who played Clara Potts in the Road to Aveonla
Hilarious!
So funny
The cashier in the first commercial who's that?? I've seen her before I just don't remember where!?
Book Fangirl
Neha Shaikh What?
Book Fangirl sorry by mistake
Is it Mrs. Hudson???
what is JcPenny
Sad that the marketing plan failed. I guess Americans just really want to feel like they're getting a deal.
Edit: As a note, I am an American.
