***** bit unfair to gauge his performance on a game that he was playing out of position and the 14 men around him had a shit game too. The whole Red Rose fell apart that day, not just Brown. He's the best fullback in England for sure. Foden isn't on par anymore, Watson still needs to get some continuity, Goode is too weak defensively (I'm not a big fan of "utility" backs, they tend to be good at lots of things but not really great at anything and so struggle in ways that specialists don't, there are exceptions of course). I'd even say he's up there in terms of British Fullbacks. Hogg has some serious attitude problems to sort out (Preistland's chin will attest to that), Halfpenny lacks attacking threat (totally solid otherwise, one of my favourites), Kearney seems to have gone off the boil at the moment but he's a fuckin' class player so I think it's just a form issue.
I don't know any other rugby player that gets as much undeserved hate as Brown. He's a solid performer for club and country. Sure he gets a bit hot headed at times, but that's passion and what makes him the player that he is. If you think he's overrated, I suggest you watch more rugby and try to analyse the game without bias.

They either only ever watch the occasional game, and/or they've never played at any level other than in a fat boy Sunday Bbq game.. I've had similar arguments in bars watching internationals with know alls.. Folau is better at the "dirty stuff" than le roux, South Africa do everything they can to protect him so he isn't exposed in one on one tackle situations, both are unreal under the high ball though and, along with smith, completely lethal in attack. You can put them in whatever order you want, but they are the best three in the world
while he is kinda a baby sometimes what I love about him is his tenacity. when he sets his mind to breaking the line he goes in with the mentality that nothing is taking him down

Matt Pelski I'm English as well and I certainly agree with you here. No doubt Brown is a quality player, but the likes of Le Roux, Folau, Kearney, Ben Smith are all performing better and more consistently. I think that Dagg and Halfpenny are on a very similar level to Brown. Also keep your eye out for Joaquin Tuculet (my next video), he's the Argentinian 15 and he's outstanding.

I reckon I'd take Falou over him and Le Roux but again, it depends on the other 14 men on the field. As he is now he looks a pillock trying to get a quick punch in and then running away OR makes sure he has lots of cover in case a forward gets hold and drags him in. Just one of the girls really !
