Dark Souls 2 still is the best trailer I have ever seen in large part thanks to this soundtrack. Honestly, Dark Souls 2 is a very underrated and pointlessly viled upon masterpiece.
I think it's not the actual game that makes most people mad but the "what could have been". The trailers were super awesome and then the masked bandits for example don't appear at all, the sewer region doesn't show up (it's in Elden Ring for some reason) and stuff like that, and then the initial release was super troubled aswell.
this song epitomizes this series. it sounds bleak and sad, as if it's conveying the sadness of the hero, doomed in a land he's not welcome in, and the very land is hostile...

You know what does this better now. Slave knight gael theme that shit is fire. It starts off calm slowly rising reminding you that everything is hostile and never what they truly seem to be. Then it ramps up representing all the challenges you have overcomr while still playing sad parts to represent gaels tragic backstory and your tragic backstory and the terrible things you had to do, like killing sif and all your friends that went hollow like solaire and others
It also holds a Will to fight even fate itself, however. IMO. a relentless spirit.

Sounds like original concept for DS2 was to be far more eerie and dreamlike it turned out to be in release.
Yeah agreed, as much as i love the game now, i think it`s fairly obvious something just didn`t go the way as intended during the development, executive meddling maybe?
I honestly still wish for a ground up remake by the guys that did DkS2 to make it as it was intended and fix the flaws of the game.

They've always just been Mytha's mannequins. You notice in the cinematic trailer, the Bearer faces them in an area leading to volcanic mountains. That was supposed to be the connecting path between Harvest Valley and Iron Keep.

When Jedi Fallen Order came out, I remembered this trailer for all the times I died with Cal. Now every time I hear this tune, I try to imagine the Dark Souls 2 trailer but with Star Wars characters.

I've heard that darklurker is pretty hard :/. I personally have a lot of trouble with "The Duke's Dear Freya" unless I get a good phantom for help, but I don't thinks this song fits that boss.
I'd say "The Ancient Dragon" when you provoke him and turn him into a boss, he can easly one-shot you :/

I’m pretty sure that’s a male voice. This is highly influenced by Sigur Ros “untitled #8” which is in a gibberish baby-talk non language, although Sigur Ros is Icelandic. I believe this is lyricless as well.

This kind of stuff isn't my area of expertise. To be fair though, most people who "Extend" music just replay the song over and over without any effort to make it continuous. I actually try. Sometimes it comes out bad, sometimes it comes out good. I personally thought this sounded okay. I'm sorry you don't like it, but I can't please everyone. :)

The music that hyped me up for this game. But the let down was sad. But atleast the good parts of this game was carried on to ds3 which is still my favorite souls game even after elden ring.
I think is better this song didn't come to the final version of the game, its epic and awesome, but the guitar, i think is a guitar, is not the style of dark souls, dark souls has more classic instruments than this.

I always thought of Drangleic being Lordran in the future. This could mean the song is saying "Drangleic, don't fade away". The artists were probably just trying to screw with our heads and trying to make us believe it was not referring to Drangleic but instead referring to just Lordran. There is a lot of evidence in the game to support this theory.
in the trailer Emerald Herald gives that undead warrior a feather and she looks worried. Is there something special about them or is he just another undead who is trying to change his destiny?
