Lookup his interview talking about his students and his approach. He's a really really good dude that gives of himself to bring out the best in others.
Joe is one of the only artists who keeps getting better with age, "Elephants" was a masterpiece in every aspect. In my opinion Joe isnt just the best guitarist of all time, he is one of the coolest most humble people of all time, Hail Voldemort.
The Satch haters need to get in with the spirit of the thing. Nobody can ever replace Eddie, he was and is the greatest of all time, but this is a nice respectful tribute to him. 🤘😎🤘
Just had dinner with Alex VH and his wife. Told them how you got a snare from the auction and all the stuff you said about Al being the inspiration to become a musician and radio personality. It means a lot to them both. Thought I would let you know.
i’ve listened to Joe forever, he is a great guitarist and seems so down to earth which makes him even more likeable, after listening to Surfing and his earlier stuff on cassette of all things back in the day I remember loving getting Flying in a Blue Dream when that came out in 89 on CD while in college and learning as much of that on guitar I could - so many great guitar hooks, riffs and melodies 👍👍👍
I put a Sustainiac in a vintage-spec'd made in Mexico Strat and let me tell you, it is an ordeal to put one of those in there. Props to the Satch's tech. Admittedly, I also have a middle pickup which makes crosstalk issues even worse and if that wasn't enough I also decided to put a coil tap on the (slanted) bridge humbucker. Regardless, we deserve a medal for that.
A good interview, but had very little to no info on "How Joe Satriani gets his Guitar Tone," as the clickbait title suggests. 15 more minutes sold some snake oil.....
For real! Plugs are great in the studio, but he did say it was routed out to a tube leveler like the LA2A which makes it analog and sweet I have several In our studio, talent uses whatever, even Guitar Rig 5 can sound great with a little engineering and then reamped we like radial gear for reamping but live it’s a whole different story All the best tube amps Fractals and their freinds get thin and buried in live mixes
It's kind of funny listening to them wanting to know why people listen to music without heart or emotion. And I'm listening to this RUclips video with a 20 speaker system 20 separate amps on a rack. I got 10 speakers in the ceiling and 10 speakers on the floor more or less I have a front center channel and a rear center channel I hope that's enough heart and emotion for them. Now let me ask me who I think of the greatest guitar player ever I don't think there was one ever Maybe he's not even born yet. I've always liked Joe over Eddie but Jimmy is my favorite❤
I love tube amps, I'll never not use one live or in the studio but there are some great modelers you can get at a reasonable price now. I work overnights and live in an apartment, so my mini home modeler set up is literally the only way I can practice electric at home without being a bad neighbor. Using a BOSS IR-200 with my actual pedalboard and a DigiTech Trio+ I'm able to jam on any idea I have on a whim so I'm thankful modelers exist.
Never liked his sound. Too humbucky, too much gain and compression makes the sound muddy. But that’s just my problem. Other than that he sure is the man for shredding
Joe uses amp distortion when playing live. Thats partly why he helped come up with his signature Marshall JVM. He said he prefers that over distortion pedals like he used to use.
Joe seems so down to earth and very personable. I look forward to seeing him on this tour with Sammy!
Joe is so cool!

Yep
Joe satriani. Suxh an incredible, humble guitarist, artist and man. Love what he does. Love his perspective....
The Satch haters need to get in with the spirit of the thing. Nobody can ever replace Eddie, he was and is the greatest of all time, but this is a nice respectful tribute to him. 🤘😎🤘
Well said. Agree 100
That’s the way I see it…a lovely tribute to a great man
Agree completely. This is clearly a labor of love for Joe.
Probably the best venue of the year !!
Enjoyable interview! Can't wait to see them at the end of this month!
Joe's signature 2480 Ibanez is the best guitar I've ever played!!! I just love it!! 😊❤

He's done so much for the art of guitar. The mainstream don't even know he exists. Its such a pity.
Joe without glasses...... its almost the same as Joe without his guitar! 🤪🤪♨️
Thanks for doing the Best of All Worlds tour, Joe. And thanks for this interview, Jeremy!

Hey ! Satch with Sammy and Michael are amazing live !
I have a Block Letter...I bought the 2nd one the music store got in back in the early 90's...Best sounding 5150 amp of them all in my opinion...
could listen to Satch forever. such an inspiring personality
Thank you so much for repeating this interview. Have never seen it before.🎼🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Awesome Jeremy!!! 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Great interview. Glad to hear Mitch in the background, Get well soon Mitch
Just found your channel - cool interviews with rock icons and music tech geek stuff! I’m loving it!!! Sub’d.
Want one of them satriani jvms
I was hoping to hear Joe explain how he gets those crazy harmonics.

What a class act! Great post-Thanks
Nice Bananas at Large shoutout! Great store
Well said, about the ritual of the vinyl experience.
Satriani is very generous with his time
Jeremy, I don't know if you are familiar with Brian Maillard. I recently found his guitar instrumental music.
..Edward.
Joe is looking like an Alien how ironic.
Joe, nailed it on the way people listen to music nowadays...Im old school, I prefer a cranked 5150 half stack :)
Im a boogie guy but your 10000% right..nothing better than moving air with a tube amp
@@quix99as long as it cranked!!! :)
Yeah, in addition old vinyl were not pressed from digital masters
What does he mean when he mentions a sans amp plugin?
Edward said once that Joe has a little =VH= in him. Joe is such a cool dude.
Joe has a great name.
It's nice to hear some truth. CD does sound better !
A good interview, but had very little to no info on "How Joe Satriani gets his Guitar Tone," as the clickbait title suggests. 15 more minutes sold some snake oil.....
I didn't know Lord Voldemort played guitar? The more you know!
He's gonna be at Red Rocks this summer...If I don't see that show I will be completely ashamed
SUPER!!✌🥁
Give you my Custum Joe if you grow your hair back ,paint has a bit of Grey in it .❤
👍
Nice guitar 🎸
🤘
no amps on the record. Thats amazing!

Still struggles playing EVH

He takes his guitar to Kirk Hammet to make his tone.
"You're a cheater". AKA not a moron.
How about Dylana's Brown Eye Joe?
This interview was back in 2022.
No, he’s not gonna come back and kill you. You were you you have to have it to suit you just like my Guitars suit me
Love those real tube amps
Makes modelers cry
Exactly

Yeah good points I do own a axefx3 and there is definitely a place for modelers
❤ VYNAL RECORDS 🎸 WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER.
Never liked his sound. Too humbucky, too much gain and compression makes the sound muddy. But that’s just my problem. Other than that he sure is the man for shredding
Im sorry joe but i am so disappointed in you.Sammy the hog Haggar really?now your trying to be KING EDWARD. Its a shabby carnival show .STOP IT.
Terrible money grab for Sammy
Yawwwn..... Joe is distortion pedal..... When Joe uses cranked Plexis like Edward, and a lot of us.....then I might listen.

Ok Sparky, your displeasure has been noted, and now you can go back to whatever life you've made for yourself...
No offense Joe, but if EVH comes back to haunt you, it won't be because of the guitar.
Satch is one of the few guitarists who I would have picked to play Van Halen tunes. Satriani is a legend. 🤘
😉👍 Very Cool! @JeremyWhiteShow
