With a range of 47Km/l on a 150cc bike, $1.07per liter currently in Bali your fuel budget is more than safe. I rode around with google maps in my bag bluetoothed to earbuds, the whole island is very well mapped so you can take an unplanned turn at a moments notice and discover things off the trail and then be quickly back on track. There's a lot of beauty off the main roads. Looking forward to the road trip, stay safe.
A really good deal on the bike and hoping very much that you will be able to keep uploading videos as you travel around. It'll be interesting to see if you notice much local variations in cooking styles though the Padang warungs/restaurants seem to get everywhere. Selamat jalan!

Hi, MK - thanks for picking up on that. It was one of those days where almost everyone let it be known subtly or otherwise that talking to me was not something they really wanted to include in their day. I suspect I've been spoiled for choice in Central Ubud up until now and it may become a little more difficult as we move into less densely populated areas. Cheers.

Ashley was very gracious in accepting to be interviewed. Nice tour you're gonna do for around $1650 Aussie Bucks. Cheap meal indeed. Are there some cheap veggie places around in Ubud? I've found Indians 🇮🇳 to be very happy to be on camera from my two long stays in India. In Colombia 🇨🇴 usually people don't wanna be interviewed and once in a blue 🔵 moon one will get a person saying don't film me while one is waking in a public area. You're doing great Wayne. Keep on walking like Johnny Walker without the booze part.
Hi Eddie. There are some vegetarian places around but I think they mainly cater to the tourists and aren't particularly cheap. I also found Indians to be very comfortable talking to, well, anyone at any time almost. I don't think i'd be walking up to strangers in Colombia and asking for interviews though. Have a good day, Eddie.
Yes Wayne I could easily eat that $1 meal every day. Bujerah said your word today which is kuah=gravy ( loose translation) kuah is usually a coconut based sauce/gravy used to top of your rice to make it a little easier to digest and add flavour of course. Have you tried the padang style restaurants yet? I know you like sambal and the sambal hijau = green sambal is ubiquitous there
Hey Daniel. I absolutely love sambal hijau - it has a texture and type of spicy that's hard to resist. In one of my earlier Bali vlogs maybe two months ago I eat in my favorite local Ppadang resto. I appreciate your ongoing support of my language learning, Daniel. Cheers.

Thanks again, Wayne. Your room is such a great price! How far is it from central Ubud in walking time? And is it accessible for a morning run or walk without too much traffic? I’m based at the northern end of Sanur, beachside of the highway, mainly for the beach path access for walks and runs, a nearby gym, and a couple of cheap warungs I visit daily. Like you, I don’t need much more as a solo 50-year-old traveler. I’m paying for this convenience since I don’t have a bike, moving every few weeks for around $35 per night, targeting places with small pools as that part of my enjoyment to cool off and relax each afternoon. I’d love to find something super cheap for a few months outside my current pricey area to balance my spending. Is there anything like that around Ubud that fits my needs? Thanks Ryan
Hey Ryan. While places like mine are still to be found in Ubud, they are getting a little harder to seek out. I'm a five minute walk to Ubud Central on a quiet-ish street and see runners every morning - there's an old school rusty gym not far (walking distance) for 25,000 a session (or used to be a few months ago) - there's no pool however at my place or the gym. if you need a pool you're going to pay a bit more but I imagine it'll be somewhat less than Sanur prices. I'd suggest coming up for a few days and taking a good walk around and knock on some doors. Ubud Central is pretty compact and I can walk everywhere I need to easily.
