I’m from the Northeast but spent 20 years in Nashville and then moved to New England, Boston. Gotta be honest, I just started this video and am four minutes in, but it seems the interviewer is or was a bit caffeinated, which makes him sound very abrupt.
As I try to resume watching this interview, I keep thinking, I wish the host will match his guest’s pace. Doing so might make them feel more comfortable, maybe.
I know I only decided to watch this show because I just learned that one of their band members, and one of their a family member’s died unexpectedly.
So, that fact alone makes me cringe each time I hear how direct and abrupt the host speaks to them as if the clock is dictating the relational aspect of introducing these men to an audience. Meeting and introducing us, as audience members, to them in a more relaxed way could possibly help them express themselves without feelings of apprehension.
Realize, I am only sharing “Just a Thought.” But this interview followed after I was introduced to this band by unintentionally watching a CCM interview with a band member as Andrew Greer interviewed him. I Googled the band to learn more about them and then learned of “Jay’s” death. That news led me to a more recent interview to hear them talk about how they walked through such loss, but this interview appeared and I became hesitant to continue watching it because the host came off too abrupt, in my opinion.
No offense intended. But I wanted to share this insight as a aid in meeting people where they are at. ✌️
