The Moral of the story this weekend, stop picking a non champion into Ornn. Once Ornn goes even or once it gets 10 min into the game and you are not at the very least 20+ CS and have 3 kills on him don't play something that will not be a champion after 10-15min. I'm talking about Lucian, Jayce, etc... The other champions can be any champions, they actually didn't really matter these past few games.
One thing to add is in the West. I have seen both LEC and LCS pick top lane carries into Ornn and just ignore the lane doesn't exist. Hell, just looking at how a team like V5 or T1 will punish these picks while in the west they just don't even support the picks. Just feels like the West took a step back and are hoping they can PVE the early game so they can just outscale waiting on someone to throw like Larsen/Bwipo.

You see LPL teams 4 man top when there is a tank vs range match up, to abuse that window, always stacking waves for a dive. This is why you don't see ornn as a tank in lpl, and malphite is only picked as a counter but still malphite is expected to be 30 cs down. You will only see blind pick sion and gragas because those are the only tanks you can blind pick really. Also, that doesnt mean LPL always win with the ranged match up, sometimes the tank still comes out of the laning phase 30 cs down with 2 deaths and still carries fights with their engages.
I'm so happy I didn't jump on the TL/C9 bandwagons and saw 100T and EG's rosters for what they are, REALLY well put together teams who synergize well, with their own unique styles they play around. Both teams have extremely consistent top laners, insanely good junglers, and their bot lanes and mid laners are also showing very promising results, FBI has been a BEAST for the past 2 years and ppl need to show him more respect, but Danny as well showing his stuff as a newblood to the scene, what a god.
Also Jojopyun, this guy is a complete rookie and is smashing on mid laners like Bjergsen and Fudge, this guy is a fking beast.. the first good NA mid laner in a very very long time.

I kinda feel like C9 try to copy T1 strategy of picking Jayce top no matter the matchup then play through bot as a win condition. The Sad thing is Summit is not Zeus and Berserker is not Gumayusi.
It’s mostly that Isles/Winsome isn’t Keria. They drafted “like T1”, but that’s basically where it ends. Guma and Keria win through lane, not through jungle diff. Zeus actually gets the jungle diff, cuz Top lane is basically won or lost by jungle diff. Nothing that even closely resembles that was shown by C9. Berserker is a good late game carry, but he almost never wins lane, which can be attributed to his support tbh. Summit doesn’t get the ganks, counterganks that he needs to stay relevant in the mid to late game. When you look at T1, where 50% of the games, bot gets 5 plates and top gets 3 man dived, it’s because they know how they should be playing out their draft, whereas C9 just drafts comfort, but don’t play towards their winning conditions.
I’m just wondering why they didn’t prioritize xayah do they not watch the lpl ? Unless it is band that should be first pick . (I haven’t wTched the games yet )
My completely professional takeaways from this series in regards to C9. Firstly, they lack confidence in themselves, as shown by earlier interviews, such that they will not opt into team fight comps, ones which they have actually proven to be mechanically capable of piloting when Blaber is on a space making champ. Why don’t they draft for teamfights when they clearly aim to have dragon priority every game? Secondly, as impact said, “they choke themselves” by allowing the enemy team to get S tier team fight champs. How are you going to allow the enemy team to get both Ornn and Zeri when you are on red side? Stop handicapping yourselves when you clearly haven’t adapted to play against those champs yet. Thirdly, what’s with the high priority on nautilus ban? You’ve beaten that champ plenty of times before along with abysmal performances against Zeri. Not to mention, you had Vulcan all of last year and have seen that he is not a takeover the game support on nautilus. Instead you allowed EG to pick bruiser dmg champs and wonder why you couldn’t win teamfights. Fourthly, as much as summit can be a lane bully, Impact is notorious for his mitigation of carries and weak side play. All three games impact was even in farm, exp, and had better positions when a fight was about to break out. Instead of picking champs that need items to do anything, perhaps opt into a matchup that is low volatility considering the ryze, nocturne picks from EG. There are still many more points to make that can be seen from the outside and if the internal structure and staff is unable to come to these conclusions or simply to stubborn to propose a new game plan, there is not much hope for improvement. Cloud9 saw what happens when you don’t evolve in 2019 and saw what happens when you do in 2018. There is no right way to play the game and you cannot be stagnant in your play. This lesson should have been learned by now considering the results of previous years. A team like TL is in the same boat and I surely wish to see adjustments in philosophy for summer split.
It was all draft diff for me, Zeri Playoff Red side Ban rate in LEC is 73%, LCK 95%, LPL 95%, with 100% first pick win rate in LPL and LCK, and 85% win rate in LEC (5/6), but somehow after all those stats C9 think they have found a new meta and go 0-3 vs Zeri. This series was just lost in 1st round bans. I could understand leaving it open in game 1, cause EG probably don't scrim it much - expecting it to be banned, and if EG can't play it they have to ban it on blue side and C9 insta win draft for the rest of the series but they know how to play Zeri so you lose game 1, no big deal. So now you go into draft in game 2 and first ban Zeri right? Not if you are in NA, you love running it back. Also LCS Zeri win rate was 29% (pre series) - does this say more about the quality of the LCS bot laners vs other major regions if they can't take free wins when given op picks? I think if you are a good bot laner you should insta win on Zeri in the current patch. LEC only lost was on Neon playing Zeri vs RGE, so does make sense.

Personally I can blame mid+jgl duo of C9 for letting enemy camp top so hard. And that was not that much of a hand diff, but draft diff. Ryze will always have a prio over Akali, and I'm not sure but Noc has a faster clear than Lee, so they will always be faster at moving out than C9. And C9 didn't even equalized it somewhere else on map
Well they drafted a cait Lux before summit picked Jayce. Lee needs to path to that lane mostly. Summits champion pool is pretty bad should of just played malhpite

At the end of the day, even LCS teams realized how to beat C9. Just set a tent on top, pick a tank for a top player and if he is on a human level he won't fall back too hard. And... That's all. I feel like C9 are just frustrated and don't know how to solve this issue. Even in series vs GG, they were just brut forcing through, nothing changes

If an LPL team had played against a US bronze team it couldn't have looked any worse than what we saw in this series. C9 players straight up refusing team fights and running away, actively creating numbers advantages & powerplays for the enemy team and therefore losing every single teamfight. I have never seen anything as dummb as this in 3+ years of watching pro play. Everyone on this c9 team needs to be investigated for potential match fixing. Nobody is THIS bad!

All the other LCK toplaners play at least twice the amount of that and a lot of them play even more. Summit is the type of player that plays 5-6 champions to a 99% and everything else to a 80%, where everyone else plays 10-20 champions to a 90-95%. There is such a draft hole whenever Summit is in the team, because whenever the meta changes away from bruisers/fighters, he’ll be out of champions to play on a high level. And with a high level I mean, against the top teams like in LCK or against the top3 LCS teams, not the likes of GG, no offense.
The veteran kr top laners ssumdaddy and impact teaching summit a harsh lesson. Still real talk, they camped tf out of summit. I guess teams are learning how to punish and suppress summit. Cause if summit pops off with Jayce, good luck stopping that.
A champion like Jayce does well early into tanks, but needs to be ahead to stay relevant for the mid to late game. You can either trust your toplaner to do it himself or you can have the mid/jungle help him, where the latter is ofcourse the better option. The opposite is what happened in the playoff games of C9, where Blabber and Fudge just let Summit solo lane, while focussing on drakes. For comparison, T1 drafts Jayce a lot, to the point where they would first pick it. If you watch the T1 games, you will see Oner and Faker camping for Zeus in most matchups and prioritise herald. Soul doesn’t become a thing before you get to soul point which takes 3 drakes and the earliest it can happen is 20 min. So T1 would just snowball lanes for 15 min that they would be so ahead of their opponents before the enemy team can get the soul. They would force fights, i.e. for drake, on their terms, being uneven in items. The difference between the really good teams and C9 is that the really good teams play to their win conditions. You can draft w/e you want, which was shown by LS at C9 btw, and still win if you play to your win conditions. C9 just drafted comfort and didn’t do anything after the draft to win the game.

They had to play better teams. Outside of the current top3, everyone else is many tiers below them. And in BO1’s, you can have off games or try crazy stuff that would surprise the enemy team in a 1 off game. LCS, and LEC for that matter, regular season are uninformative as it only shows who are better in 1 off games compared to LCK and LPL where they play BO3 and every playoff match in every league is a BO5.

Personally I can blame mid+jgl duo of C9 for letting enemy camp top so hard. And that was not that much of a hand diff, but draft diff. Ryze will always have a prio over Akali, and I'm not sure but Noc has a faster clear than Lee, so they will always be faster at moving out than C9. And C9 didn't even equalized it somewhere else on map
Well they drafted a cait Lux before summit picked Jayce. Lee needs to path to that lane mostly. Summits champion pool is pretty bad should of just played malhpite

I saw talk about Pudge on Twitter that he was looking for a Berserker girlfriend. From then on, I thought that the C9 catastrophe was going to happen. Even though Fudge and Blaber were, the kids like Summit and Berserker didn't have very good careers, so I couldn't understand why they were so arrogant. It was very offensive to see whether the LCS seemed comfy or lacked respect.

However, if thats not the case I would like to put Fudge back in the top lane and bring in a new mid, since a lot of good mids are open and Fudge was developing as a good top laner last towards the end last year. I would be very interested in having someone that versatile in the top lane and someone more creative in the mid lane
At the end of the day, even LCS teams realized how to beat C9. Just set a tent on top, pick a tank for a top player and if he is on a human level he won't fall back too hard. And... That's all. I feel like C9 are just frustrated and don't know how to solve this issue. Even in series vs GG, they were just brut forcing through, nothing changes

Historically Summit plays 5-6 champions well and basically only plays those 5-6 champions. All the other LCK toplaners play at least twice the amount of that and a lot of them play even more. Summit is the type of player that plays 5-6 champions to a 99% and everything else to a 80%, where everyone else plays 10-20 champions to a 90-95%. There is such a draft hole whenever Summit is in the team, because whenever the meta changes away from bruisers/fighters, he’ll be out of champions to play on a high level. And with a high level I mean, against the top teams like in LCK or against the top3 LCS teams, not the likes of GG, no offense.
C9 was more interested in getting dragons than actually trying to win, they left zeri open for 3 games in a row, bad calls

The veteran kr top laners ssumdaddy and impact teaching summit a harsh lesson. Still real talk, they camped tf out of summit. I guess teams are learning how to punish and suppress summit. Cause if summit pops off with Jayce, good luck stopping that.
A champion like Jayce does well early into tanks, but needs to be ahead to stay relevant for the mid to late game. You can either trust your toplaner to do it himself or you can have the mid/jungle help him, where the latter is ofcourse the better option. The opposite is what happened in the playoff games of C9, where Blabber and Fudge just let Summit solo lane, while focussing on drakes.
For comparison, T1 drafts Jayce a lot, to the point where they would first pick it. If you watch the T1 games, you will see Oner and Faker camping for Zeus in most matchups and prioritise herald. Soul doesn’t become a thing before you get to soul point which takes 3 drakes and the earliest it can happen is 20 min. So T1 would just snowball lanes for 15 min that they would be so ahead of their opponents before the enemy team can get the soul. They would force fights, i.e. for drake, on their terms, being uneven in items.
The difference between the really good teams and C9 is that the really good teams play to their win conditions. You can draft w/e you want, which was shown by LS at C9 btw, and still win if you play to your win conditions. C9 just drafted comfort and didn’t do anything after the draft to win the game.

Just need to work on communication, map awareness, skillshots, economy management, macro, positioning, teamfighting, item building, managing tempo, rotations and getting a kill.

LCS, and LEC for that matter, regular season are uninformative as it only shows who are better in 1 off games compared to LCK and LPL where they play BO3 and every playoff match in every league is a BO5.
