Queen - Who Needs You (Official Lyric Video)
/ queenofficial
I really love Deaky's songs. He wrote beautiful songs about love, friendship, how to be free, how to overcome yourself (e.g. Spread Your Wings), etc. You feel like John understands your feelings and translate them into music. He was the riskiest band member, introducing new elements like funk, disco and latin sounds.Thank you Deaky for this music legacy. You're such a legend.
Laura Angélica Melo yeah he wrote songs about love and friendship but don’t forget misfire ;))
@@skankhunt42413 HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 😂😂😂 it's true.
Absolutely right Laura, total agree with you.
Yeeesss totally agree
AGREE
When I found out this was written by John I wasn't even slightly surprised. He always writes the most adorable, feel good songs. What a fantastic man
3nu! Haha, I'd say that was mostly true. He did have a sharp tongue though! He wrote 'back chat' about Brian after an argument because John wanted to do more disco and synth but Brian disagreed. The result? The most discoiest disco song in all of Queen. He wouldn't even let brian play the guitar on it!
And...the acoustic guitar you here in this song, it's John.
Deaky could be so savage too. Just he was the silent one.
@@Fitzroyfallz hahaha so the story it's true...
He also wrote 'Misfire' ;))
Love Freddie's voice on this one, so delicate and sweet. He knew exactly how to tailor his voice to each song.
Taylor...😂😂😂
Ok I'm not funny
I'm sorry
I perfectly agree with your statement: Freddie knew how to tailor his voice to each song". This made him great and different from any other singer.
@@randall5389 oh men 😂
haha tayl-
Have the 8 track of "News Of The World" since '78 which still plays very well.
John Deacon is one of the greatest and most underrated bassists and musicians of all time. People talk about Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor(they are great, dont get me wrong) but without John Deacon, Queen wouldn't be the same, his bass lines, his songs, he's a legend!
Agree 1000%
John Deacon, one of most underrated rock musician. I 'm biggest fan.
No it’s me the biggest Deacy’s fan ;-))
No its me darlings. I am modest and he likes modest people like Freddie, me and himself.
if 1 more fucking moron uses the word "underrated " ill scream.
No. I am biggest Deaky fan...
@@bobwallacejnr6852 underrated
One of the most underrated song by queen.......
But I don't know this is my favorite song when I was childhood
All the album news of the world is a masterpiece. So underrated.
@@TheArellanog Agreed!/De acuerdo contigo!
It annoys me that nobody talks about this song in the Queen fandom. It's so beautiful and Freddie's voice is gorgeous!
lillie owens samee I love this song
I love this song but wow john were you okay when you wrote this
I have that reaction to so many Queen songs. Especially Brian's but sometimes John's and Freddie's.
Oh muchachos... I like it, I like it!
@@walover165 Meanwhile Roger just vibin' most of the time
@Pumpkin Pie Yeah.. Brian, Freddie and John writing about their struggles in their lives meanwhile Roger be like "Fun It", "I'm In Love With My Car", "Rock It (Prime Jive)", "More Of That Jazz", "Modern Times Rock'n'Roll", ...
Fumpf imma be vibin with rog
John Deacon is a genius.
Fully agree...
They are Genius
Must be. This is just pure beauty

Johns songs are just plain amazing. His songs are really songs that you can connect with, and are somewhat relatable in some ways. His songs are definitely some of my favorites.
indeed!! like recently stopped talking to me out of the blue and the song lyrics describe the situation perfectly!
They've literally mastered every genre.
@@interestingthings8598 that song is new wave
Japji Kular i agree lol
Japji Kular the closest rapping without music may be "stone cold crazy"
nickelodeon dog nah, cuz in stone cold crazy he sings as if he is speaking very fast whereas in dragon attack, in many parts he sings like a normal song
Even gospel!
deaky is probably one of the most underrated songwriters of all time
This song prooves how versatile Queen was. Amazing!! I like it, I like it!
I love the way that John played the acoustic guitar. He was fantastic in this song, like always.
1:38 FREDDIE SAYING I LIKE IT I LIKE IT. IT'S THE PUREST AND CUTEST THING
He sounds like doofenshmirtz or however you spell it

I like it too, Freddie
One of QUEEN's greatest hits !! They're diversity, production and creativity was second to none.
I swear, each song in the Queen discography fights for who is going to be my favorite. This week, it’s this one.
Oh Muchachos....
Me gusta, me gusta...( I just imagined Freddy singing that)
special
Pensé que lo había imaginado... ¡Genial!
Hey we match
Man I love Queen! This is such a great album. So glad they came out with a movie to spark up an interest in their music. Now a younger generation can enjoy them as much as we did growing up.
"Reaching out, reaching out for a helping hand" is my favorite part of the song that I always waited to sing along from this song.
I always wait to go oh so so sophisticated
I believe that John did all the guitar on this track, both bass and lead. So talented! I sure wish he would come out of retirement for a few shows.
Brian said in an interview he did the nylon string lead guitar, and there is electric guitar here and there that sounds like Brian too. I believe all other guitars are John.
the thought that freddie and john both worked on and recorded this song makes me so happy. I love them together.
Oh my god John is so talented!!! 😍😍😍❤❤❤
I love all song written by John, it's a breather in between of heavy rock composition. This one just sweet, playfully, and Freddie's voice in this song just sooo sweet.
I absolutely love this and . . .surprised to read Freddie did all the backing vocals. Whoa! Magnificent Queen. Miss you Deaky❤️❤️❤️.
The greatest band of all time.
And the Beatles 👍 💞
@@theegyptianeagle7601 Yeah
'News of the world' album too:)
No doubt about that!
This is the first song I ever learned to play on guitar. Still a favorite.
really? it doesnt sound that easy!
Guitar-wise, it's not that difficult. For the most part there's not even that much to do.
@@interestingthings8598 okay thank u for scare me...
finger picking sounds hard
It’s seriously fun to play, isn’t it? 👍🏻
john is such a genius!! his songs have such a different feel to them. and especially this song i feel is so much ahead of its time and cleverly written. I just love Queen and miss the four of them together. We all miss freddie! he was a legend, i adore him! We all miss john too! Roger and Brian are so strong for carrying on and their musicality is amazing! they are legends in their own way and Queen is one legend! i will always love them! i am 15 have loved them my whole life they have helped so much and i look up to them .. i wish i could just talk to brian and roger! all4 are my role models!! ❤️❤️❤️
OMG what a happy, feel good song!!! i have been making my way through all of the Queen albums as well as reading the background info on the songs (who wrote them, who sang, played which instruments) etc and it is such an eye opener. It's an indisputable fact that Freddie, Brian, John and Roger were head and shoulders above any band and the music they produced in the 70's, 80's and 90's puts every other band currently living or passed to shame! But learning all of the history behind the songs in addition to listening to them makes me realize just how groundbreaking this band was and why their music has lasted for 40+ years. I continue to be in awe!!!
Every time I find a "new" amazing song of Queen, I learn that it was written by John Deacon... the guys is a genius! All his songs are so, so, good.
same same same
in fact, I Want To Break Free is my all-time fave and I knew later it was from him
“If you can’t beat them” is my favorite deacy song
This, You and I, and In Only Seven Days are such adorable songs by our precious Deacy.
Don't forget One Year of Love... Romantic af 😍❤️
So, so, sophisticated
1:27 "ooh muchachos"
If any other group did this song, it'd be instantly cheesy. Only Queen are able to absolutely sell this song.
no other group could do songs like this and hammer to fall. greatest band of all time.
+agogobell28 the electric guitar in the back on certain parts of the song is genius
Solo con la voz del Dios del Rock
agogobell28 spot on, only queen!
@@fistfulofswoon so subtle & so right.....great call dude.
"So, so sophisticated" is what I'd say about most, if not all of Queen's songs.
Great song by John. 👍👍👍
John Deacon songs are always very great!
Genius .... the diversity of Deaky. The diversity and magnificence of Queen will live forever!
Beautiful artistry
These guys musicianship unreal
I ADORE THIS SONG. ! And as someone who loves ethnic music, this song fills a void, embracing the ethnicity as Queen adds their personal touches….which they do better than any other band in music history !
What a fun, fun song this one is. Thanks John. Quite sad relationally, but this song totally makes me happy! I guess the joy of freedom after a bad relationship!!
I found this album in late 81. I've listened to it so many times. That I know every lyric on it. This album and night at the opera are in my top 10 albums of all time

When school wasn't online, my dad used to play the CD to this Album while he would drive me to school. I would always want this song to play and we would always sing "You were oh so so sophisticated" so loud it was so fun, I have to play this song again for him :).
Great story!
This is such a good song! Queen is my favorite band ❤
the most relaxing Queen song... love you!
Incredible happy song wow❤❤❤
I ve always love this amazing song. But I never knew was a Deacon's song. Even spread tour wings is a Deacon's song. He rules!
THE BEGINNING PICTURE WITH HIS SMILE
Freddie's "Oh muchachos" at 1.29, is priceless.
deaky has that nice noticeable tone that he applies to his songs, which is one of the things that i like about him :)
Everything about this song is perfect. I fall more in love with Freddie’s voice everyday ❤️👑❤️👑
My favorite album so far
Oh Gosh,,,,! Deacon really makes me feel like I'm flying through cloud of sweet love,, Haha!
Hard to pick a favorite song written by John since I love them all but this & One Year of Love are probably my favorites.
Wishing John Deacon a wonderful birthday, and a happy and healthy year ahead! I love this track and all your other wonderful songs! Thank you so much for helping to create all the very diverse music that millions of people all over the planet still enjoy today! Hope you are doing well and enjoying time with your family! We love you Deaky!
Another great song by Freddie and company! Just love making these discoveries! What a unique sound this one has!
Freddie and company... Hmmm
Cool song... Great guitar part... John's great...
Freddie's Spanish omg "vamos muchachos" :3
Dice oh muchachos
deserves way more recognition
"Lovely feeling" will fits 100% with this song i think
it's like the feel good version of another one bites the dust AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH
One of the most underrated Queen Song nowadays. I Remember it being played on every Ship and Cruise while the "Dancing Hour" back in mid 80s.
John is such an underrated guitar player tbh
I've been listening to this song since 1980 and I never get tired of it ♥
This one really is a mood lifter. (and the vocals, they are panned right lol)
An acoustic theme.... fantastic!
John Deacon>Life.
+Androzani Critic I feel you bro.

Oh so so sophisticated!
I love a song that is deceptively cheery based on the sound of the music. But, the lyrics are cutting and sharp. DEacon was great at delivering this combo.
Happy Birthday Deaky...

Oh yes, isn't Freddie adorable?! I love his sweet 'it's lovely! Lovely!' to John about his intro.
J: Ok 💞
deaky is so underrated... i love is songs so much 😍😍😍
the choice of John for the bass..one the best ever made for queen band
Performers: Queen Song: Who needs you
it's amusing hearing Freddie Mercury singing with a thick South African accent at the start of the song, spiced with a salsa rhythm.
South African? I hear his usual RP English accent with a little Indian colouring (he was educated in Bombay) and a subtle Mid-Atlantic twang (which he only affected when singing).
David Eger Mid-Atlantic does not "twang" by any stretch of the imagination.
what a true gem of queen! i think i like the less popular songs even more.
I concur!! For being the only guy who never sang in the band...his tunes REALLY CAME through... gotta love his stuff!! Contributions!! To the band ! 100%!!-- " Who Needs You"? = TOTAL GENIUS songwriting!! Composing!! " You And I" off Day At The Races is great too!!
Queen could do any type of music .. swear if freddie was rockin in the late 90s 200s he would have done hip hop numbers
I think this, Spread your wings and Another one bites the dust are John’s best songs.
The Whole News of the world album has no bad songs. Seriously.
2 of my favorite albums "A night at the opera" and "News of the world" I discovered these in the fall 1981 and still remain close to my heart. 2 great masterpieces

Happy birthday John. You are and always will be a genius and a true great. 😀🎸🎸🎻🎹
Que magnífico bolero. It is simply amazing how John, Brian and Freddie managed to sing any piece flawlessly. !Oooh muchachos! For those who don't know what a bolero is, it's worth looking up artists such as Armando Manzanero, Julio Jaramillo; also "Daniel me estás matando" with what they called "bolero-glam" XD
John you are a genius.
Great great song.
Queen are not only geniuses, they are all virtuosos at their instruments.
