They are toys. And more specifically action figures. Calling an action figure a doll would be just as obscured as calling a doll an action figure. Just call them what they toys. If you want to be more specific call them by their specific term, action figure, doll,stuffed toy whatever.

And I told him that they're not dolls and I asked him if he was joking around he told me he wasn't and from there until the end of the school year he kept taunting me and calling me names and I'm actually kinda glad that I've watched your videos for a while and also discovered some of your friends( fellow collectors) and got interested in the action figure collecting community. I had the first "adult collector like" action figure at five years old which was the Spider-Man 2 superposeable Spider-Man figure. This hobby has a very sentimental meaning to me because of you, you're friends, and my first action figure
action figs are a subgroup of dolls that are NOT CREEPY and cool but they are dolls and that's okay i can accept that I collect dolls with a lot of other die cast vehicles ( mostly cars ) and other stuff
