That's all the scaffolding parts that were under the barrel cladding, it's all being taken off ready for the roof to be painted. Hence the white strapping around them, they started it last week.
Good to see some up to date footage so well done for getting there early after Storm Bert, Colin. Thanks. PoI's: 1) I'm curious as to what is the structure on wheels that looks a bit like a swing-frame next to the Movement Gap galvanised stairbridge. I think the copious amounts of scaffolding are being erected up the steels behind the barrel-cladding for the marine-grade repainting. @ 1:14 mins, we can see the feet of some vertical poles on temporary wood mats showing underneath the barrel-cladding. 2) @ 1:56 mins, we can see a pile of broad ladders and criss-crossed lattice structures at the north end of the Mansard Roof. 3) @ 4: 06 mins, I think that gap will be 'gates'. EFC's ownership goe right up to the base of the old Mersey wall and as you can see they have fitted a wall and panel structure forward of tat. But they will probably use the space behind it for access and storing a few items but it will also allow PEEL to get access to their Mersey Wall property. 4) @ 4: 25 mins, it's a curious pattern of dry and wet finish to the Composite Decking between clear 'plank' sections. 5) @ 5:47 mins, those 25 or so stacked items look a bit like the same sort of black 'rubber' feet for the temporary railings around the concrete roofing on all the stands but as they're not identical, they must have some other purpose. Watch this space. Good spot, Colin. 6) @ 8:59 mins, we can see a historical context feature just north of the NW end of the Southern Isolation Bridge. Many moons ago, the previous bridge was a rotating bridge and we can see a small arc of the circular area that was used once upon a time. 7) @ 10:01 mins, 2 of the 6 lights-on-stalks are fitted at the SW-most end. 8) @10:16 mins, there are 2 signposts installed, either side of the central pair of large wind-baffles on the south concourse. 9) @ 12:00 - 12:04 mins, we can see that the inside faces of the black panels are dark wood-effect lined and there's one such loose, extra panel propped up on the lower such terrace. 10) I'd say that the whole pitch-side will have tarmac as an underlayer to seal off the sand layers. Then additonal layers will go on top with the section between the low-point gutter and eventually the shallow slope up to the pitch itself will be green artificail turf. 11) @ 14:57 mins, no idea what the off-plan concrete shuttered and rebarred boxes are for. 12) @ 15:08 mins, I am curious as to what that "not-on-plan" rectangular shuttered and rebarred concrete plinth will be used for. Watch this space, I guess. My guess is that it will be some sort of off-site, pre-manufactured building (as the Main Vehicular entrance Security Hut was). 13) Can we see any of the detail on the white panels on the signposts of the East Plaza. There's some writing on them in black. I THINK they're gate numbers and arrows. 14) @ 17:03 mins, we can see that the contractors that have been infilling the Heritage Rail Tracks, north to south, with, I presume, clear resin, have got to the points just below/north of the first of the four grouped trees where the three tracks divert and become four.
Thanks David, I’m pleased you have explained what the scaffolding is being used for on the east stand, I was beginning to think it was only me who was insisting it has only just been put up there🤣
@@cp-overview well, Colin, several people reported seeing them being lifted up there on some other droner's channel after the flat-beds had parked up near the ENE corner of the stadium. Now we can spot the scaffold poles behind the barrel-cladding but it's actually a guess that it's for the steels painting job However, it's reasonable to assume so when they have spent ages repainting the steels of the North and South Stands.
@@davidbadcock2225I can only think of 3 reasons as to what it could be for. 1: Painting the steels like you mentioned. 2: They could be finishing of the roofs drainage system and the pipes come down behind the barrel cladding. 3: (unlikely) They could be adding more lighting behind the cladding to light the top sections of it up.
@@rosse6705 Rosse, yes, it could be one or several of several things but I do think it much less likely to be the latter two suggestions.I do not know the answer, so here are my thoughts, which are weak on evidence. 1) The siphonic system is installed in principle. All the piping was installed way back with most of it out of sight in the fabric of the stands. I think it will only have been the electronics of the siphonic system that needed to be completed and tested. 2) They wouldn't need that amount of scaffolding for any lighting as you describe, especially as it would be all at one level, much more easily reached over the back of the top of the terracing bowl. I am not aware of any plans to be lighting up the barrel-cladding through the 20% porosity cladding. That doesn' make a lot of energy-efficiency sense as all it would be doing was to create light pollution upwards when they have been trying to diminish that within the plans. However, I am open-minded about it and aware that there is a strong possibility of being proven wrong.
The siphonic drain system may not yet be fully turned on and if large amounts of rainwater fall in a short space of time, currently, then the water dams up and overflows from the guttering. When they have the drainage system fully functioning and taking all the water to the Rain Harvesting tanks below the East Plaza between the Pump House and the Stadium ENE entrances, then all will be well.
@davidbadcock2225 are you surprised they haven't had that job as one of the priorities, David? It does seem daft to have completed the roof a while ago but that system still hasn't been done. They've got all the terracing and new seats all clean and in properly but water is constantly falling down onto them. I've already noticed large water stains and moss in certain areas.
@rosse6705 I agree something isn't right with that. All we hear is that it isn't up and running. Why wouldn't it be? Roof was finished months ago. Something hasn't been done right, and that why it's leaking.
I had heard a couple of moths ago that there was a paint problem on the exposed steel work. I initially thought it was just a rumour. As we have seen a lot of the exposed steelwork on the north and south stands has already been repainted. The large delivery of scaffolding last Sunday, onto the lower east stand roof, suggests there maybe more too this.
@@davidmorris5053 it may be normal to have the final coats done after installation rather than an actual problem. I know at Anfield everything was painted again after installation
Joel: yes, but it'll be pretty well the last job to do, after all the other above-roof activity has been completed and all the excess materials and equipment are removed.
It’s possibly for the contractors to get access to fit the roof drainage system? Water still leaks onto the seats below when there’s substantial rain, so I’m assuming this hasn’t happened yet.
The scaffolding wasn’t put there last week they put other equipment up there and removed other scaffolding the lad up top were putting the scaffolding into manageable piles and tied up to be lifted off the trucks what were there had pallets on and mixers for the black finish
Where is everywhere soaking wet? Even high up in the stands🤷♂️ I believe a yard or so around the pitch edges will be cut out and replaced with Astro turf eventually
Apparently, the drainage system underneath the roof hasn't been completed yet which allows the large amounts of water to go down big pipes then into the water tanks in the ground. So if it rains heavy now, it overflows on the roof and gets down into the stands.
Thanks Colin super stuff

There still appears to be lots fo wet seats well back from the pitch that you would expect to be protected by the roof.
