As somebody who has this cake I can absolutely recommend it. I got the Shoulloween tea cake bundle from them last year and the Gingerbread Man was in it. I found it the sweetest of the bunch. Sweet with a full mouthfeel and mellow earthiness. Super good value tea especially if you like shou puer.
You've gotta keep going, even with "the basics", your experience is so helpful to people just starting. Never heard anyone else talking about the taste profile in clay etc.
I stopped drinking alcohol half a year ago and am currently diving head first into tea. I find it healing, relaxing, yet alerting. I love it. And this review of yours is a great introduction into teas! Very well spoken! Thank you! 😊
I just found about white2 tea from my Dr and I told him about one river tea. I plan to bring the Modern Nüwai got from one river to my next appointment to have a tea session during my appointment.
Yes to comparisons between porcelain vs unglazed teapots! Since drinking teas, I've always just used a gaiwan, but the small teapots have such novelty to them, I always wondered if they did help with Puer as some people have told me they do
First time watching, really good review. I like the part where you say that this is a good cake for someone new to pu erh but I think that you should follow up at some point with a comparison between an affordable shou and a higher quality one.
You know my Papa Jo was Chinese and a chef, he STRICTLY ONLY served jasmine wrapped oolong, it was prepared by a little old Chin florist, he started the first Chin restaurant in Dallas Tx with his father early 1900’s, he died before I was old enough to learn anything, my mom didn’t like cooking, in fact none of the kids did, but I love it, what I would’ve given to learn his technique
I have a funny comment for you, regarding drinking certain teas on an empty stomach. Put plainly:don’t! I have, and as I mentioned in a previous video,it can turn south, very suddenly!🙄 Here’s my handy dandy trick: You know those little packs of orange colored sandwich crackers with peanut butter in between? At the very least, eat a pack of them before the tea session. Trust me,it will cancel out the possibility of that empty stomach experience!

definitely do a comparison between porcelain and clay, might give some insight into how clay affects the brew

Will you be at the Cascadia tea event this year? I saw you as a sponsor.
Yes!
Although it’s probably the tao of tea that is a sponsor.
Admittedly our names are very similar haha

All shou tastes the same!? Blasphemy!! Haha nah, i know what you mean. I actually feel that was about young sheng.
Ooooh. What’s a hot take hahaha. Yeah that bite is the same all around no matter the tea underneath.
