When I listen to Schopenhauer’s observations, I can’t help but think that I have considered them before; but I was not capable of articulating those thoughts and ideas, as my own. .
You intuited his work before intellectualizing it. That is to say, you unconsciously compared and contrasted his view of things with your own view your first time or two reading him, and are only just now bringing a number of those views of his, which you made your own by nourishing yourself on his work, to consciousness. This is representation!
Thanks for another well handled lecture about my favorite philosopher. 👌 I remember seeing my face once again after 3 weeks in the wilderness. It was like seeing a relative. Like me but not me. Reminds me of how Schopenhauer says (paraphrase) that the subject never appears to itself as an object.
Thanks for another well handled lecture about my favorite philosopher’s work. 👌 I remember seeing my face once again after 3 weeks in the wilderness. For a sec it was like seeing a relative. Reminds me of how Schopenhauer says (paraphrase) that the subject never appears to itself as an object. I’ve experimented with two big mirrors together. It is interesting!
His love for humanity and disappointed disdain for it is a wonderful contradiction. It is why I adore Schopenhauer so much, and why so many have such a bitter reception to him. Great video, I can't wait to see you cover 'Art of Literature' (if you will).
Your absolutely correct! Everything your talking about here, is who iam, but as iam listening to this and see how it relates to how I live, it gives me a headache and I have to shut it off. It’s as if my brain is telling me to just be and stop thinking.
Oh, would some Power the gift give us To see ourselves as others see us! It would from many a blunder free us, And foolish notion: What airs in dress and gait would leave us, And even devotion! Robert Burns
I don't think overthinking is the problem for the golfer it's that writing is a special skill and golf is another special skill very different to each other.
Schopenhaur believed every representation was of the will. So I think he would say it springs from the will but to be used as a survival and reproductive tool. Not as a tool to reflect. I could br wrong though
@Deleteds-c7u But it is the Intellect which grasps the Will. Who is Schopenhauer? Subjective thinker. And what is subjectivity? "And God called Abraham: Abraham, where art thou? And Abraham said: here am I...
Thanks Prof👍🏼🫡
This series is a life changer💫✨️

you just need a space to do so💟

I prefer your commentary on schopenhauer's works than the original text!

Very interesting.

Idk if it's my phone or the recording but it's really choppy audio for me. That's a shame; I love Shopenhauer
Schopenhauer couldn't criticize his nature spontaneously, only artificialy.
It seems very quiet and hot in his room .
There's one major issue with Schopenhauer's philosophy: What is intellect and where does it come from? Surly not created by the will😅
