Nicely done! A bit curious, if this kind of effect from blending exposure the same as HDR ? What would the difference if any?

Hi Steve, thanks for posting this video. It's a subject that baffles me completely, but your video seems straight forward. One question, I followed your tutorial to the letter but when I brush with white nothing happens!! I've even zoomed in to check my settings are the same as yours.

So is this for hdr images? For example if I took a photo of a marina and wanted to merge the two or three photos together, how would that work with the moving water in the background? Do I do this instead? Blend the sky in?

Wonderful tutorials. I'm so glad I've found you. Why do you use an opacity of 30% with the mask brush? Why not just 100%, if the image you're revealing is exposed the way you'd like. Thanks again

I just prefer the more gradual approach where I build the effect up to a point that I like. I might not necessarily know I want it to be 100% until I see it blended that way :-)

@@SteveArnoldPhoto thanks. Now that I've tried this a few times it makes perfect sense. I hadn't realized that the more times you pases over an area the more you unmask it. Thanks again.

First you have to align the layers

Your technique does not allow the photos to be aligned imho

you can easily select both layers and go to edit -> auto align layers
